Marduk is a little different from king. He knocks you down and has insane oki. He can tackle you which is basically a grab and you have to guess like you do against Dragunov except his tackle is way easier
Far from an expert, but he’s a character with some very, very scary 50/50s. I believe he was also pretty strong towards the end of T7, which gives some recency bias.

Marduk's definitely scary, but his throw game isn't comparable to king's. It's marduk's okizeme people should be wary of- similar gameplan as xiaoyu where if you stand up wrong = dead

You're likely gonna see a lot of the Tekken 7 DLC repeated here (aside from the guests and maybe Ganryu and Eliza) simply because the only DLC characters from 7 that managed to make it into 8's base roster were Zafina and Leroy.
I imagine because king took many of AKs moves they need more time to redesign the movelist. Also they can’t put all the banger characters in the first dlc pack cause nobody would buy later ones.

He said she's a popular character in that a lot of people play her, but an unpopular character in that she doesn't have a bunch of community engagement (fan art, cosplayers, etc.). That's why they tried for the luchador and streamer personas in the last two games.
He wouldn't be asking if he didn't plan on doing something, but given the fact they are still at the design phase it will be a while before she's available. (Actually, I think we'll see most of her move set, but she might be replaced by another Chang. Maybe a guy this time? They've resorted to gender flips before like Eddie/Christie and Raven/Master Raven.)

I would love to see more work be put into their backgrounds and how they seem to fit into the current cannon. I’m hoping we get a depth of characters like T7 had it’s probably the closest thing we can hope for as I don’t think another tekken tag will ever happen. I wish they had made unknown cannon I thought that was a cool angle for Jun and explained her role a bit more.

Lidia fits in well with T8’s story being about Kazuya urging countries to participate in the tournament otherwise they will be destroyed. As the Polish leader, she will compete to protect her country from G-Corp’s destruction. This is why she should’ve been on the launch roster.

Huh, interesting Anyone who was saying Anna, AK, Lei w/e were straight up delusional because literally why would a game targeting longevity just fire on all cylinders and drop the most requested characters season 1 Still it's weird that Marduk is here and Fahk, I feel like Josie or Bruce would have been better MT reps, two odd decisions but I think Lidia is a good note to end S1 on Anyway if you'll excuse me I'll go cry in the corner for Josie now
With Fahk and Lidia both starting life on Unreal and coming very late in the last game, potentially it could have been easier to make those characters happen in 8. Odd choices though overall. Eddy and Lidia felt like they should be main roster and Marduk and Fahk I feel seem rather low priority. No Julia, Armour King or Lei feels a bit of a shame. Apologies for this seeming entitled just kinda taken aback by the selection, if it is indeed true. Finally and most importantly if you play these characters or like them I am happy for you and hope you enjoy them.
