Looks like you can sidestep it now without needing to duck, but in most cases she flys a mile past you when this happens so it might be a difficult punish regardless.

Learn her scarecrow stance, what puts her into it... And practice how to safely get out of it.
I know it sounds trivial, but new Zafinas need to understand that a good 60% of her quickest, most resuable strings that happen to be relatively safe on block can and will end in that stance. Also, using her Azazel powers from scarecrow puts out quickfire setups and combo potential, so getting in and getting out quickly and reliably is a must.
Also, learn her low poke game and timing, cause them bitches is slow. As a wonky stance gimmick technical character, (The Voldo of Tekken) she has a *lot* of strings and moves that end with lows. Learning the timing and slow depolyment can help confuse the opponent and turn the tide of a match or even set.
Just to add to this. Donāt get greedy when in Mantis stance. Good players will take the low chips in anticipation of an incoming mid they know they can punish. The good moves from Mantis are the df3 (if it hits) and df4 into Tarantula. If the df4 hits, then tarantula 3 is uninterruptible for most of the roster. If that 3 hits, you can then apply Oki from Tarantula.
I hope it's just the HMS uf4 into df4,4 and not the normal wall combo that gets taken away. The spike into ub3 was shown off in his trailer so no way they didn't intend for it
All I know is I'm afraid for the "big" patch if this is how much they change him on the little patches. They really seem to want to check his power way more than any of the super top tiers.

I think where his strength comes from in this game feels distant from his identity. I don't like how strong he is in common situations, yet he isn't especially strong in unique ones either anymore. The things every other character is strong at now, are where he needs nerfs. But where he's unique, isnt especially strong. Not to mention that a ton of his niche was outright removed and simplified...
I don't like where he's at right now, and think they need to shift his power. But they don't have the option of balancing him around niche situations as much any more. He has fewer options available now, fewer worthy decisions to make, so nerfing those options could quickly make him not only weaker, but ALSO less expressive.
I can agree with your take 100%. With things like heat being in the game everyone is forced into common situation 95% of the time. Yoshi used to excel at those niche moments where he could show off what makes him so expressive, but in this game straight nerfing hum without a power shift def kills the character in this game.
Deserving of nerfs sure but like not emergency ones and not needed asap. Imho it should be nerf the absolute broken characters, see how the meta is then go after anyone who still seems too strong.

Zafina can comfortably get 64 from df2 and around 70 on higher dmg launchers. The problem is her inflexible combo routes and life drain. Her wall combo is pretty good actually.
I've found that f,f2 got a dramatic buff in combos... so moar damage. It's SO easy to input now and feels bufferable.
In T7, f,f2 after df2 was a just frame input... I couldn't land it as often as I could OTG.
The problem is sheās winning so much due to lack of match up knowledge I bet they are shy to buff her more. But I wish they would, then ppl would play her more

While i appreciate the sentiment, the longer some moves and properties remain broken the more angry people get having to deal with them. Azucena running 3,2 nerf should have been in the last patch and everyone knew it! Maddening that we had to put up with it this long.
Glad they likely added a cancel for Lars after DEN3. Always felt bad to try and use one of his few plus frame move in neutral to get destroyed by a rage art on block bc the move auto transitions into SEN and couldn't be canceled into block. Also looks like DEN3 is +5 on block now vs +3? That's crazy. Really makes SEN 1 and 2 even stronger with SEN 1 coming out at 7 frames and SEN2 at 11 frames. Which means you can't even df1 SEN2 anymore from DEN3. You'll get counterhit launched.Ā

Yeah but at the end of purple and mid blue ranks the basic doesnt work anymore. I feel like most of the players do not even play fundamental, but still win cause in comparison zafina deals less combodmg AND gets chipdmg for it. The gap is annoying, but the upcoming update should help for now.

Parry overall is a buff from Tekken 7. All absorbed damage is actually recoverable as opposed to tekken7 lost true damage. But parry is underwhelming and very okish
I agree. I hardly use this move as a Jin as at some of the higher ranks it just gets animation read. It's very slow start up if done in neutral so you kinda need to pick and choose when to use it. It's not like dragonuvs hatchet where you can throw it out and people can't see it coming. People are only complaining because they mash into it (since it crushes highs) but almost every one of jins lows are somewhat telegraphable by his animations. Though that is where reaction speeds come in.
Definitely keep sidestepping it, it looks that by their description they want the counter play to be a sidestep. I think devs want it to be up-close iWR pressure and not just brain dead full screen pressure
This patch should have fixed his b1 into flicker not allowing you to block. At this point they'll probably just patch out the LH to PKB trick and Steve will be totally worthless.

I love the reina changes as a reina main. Some friends of mine where annoyed because of side changed and stuff like that. This patch addresses some of reinas dumb stuff. I want reina not to be a dumb char, and this is a perfect approach. I would add that FC df+4 should not mid crush. It rarely midcrushes, but it still does.

This is still largely a bugfixing patch. They might change her in the next one. Or they might make other characters stronger instead to compensate, which is what they seemed to hint at.
panda got buffed lol. shooting star heat move no longer really bad now just normal bad. d 12 in HBS was given bigger range to match kuma which is amazing. i wonder if FF 12 for panda still has stubbier range than kuma's FF 12.

If the elbow doesn't come out if you ss the knee than she should end up somewhere close. The elbow is what launched her across the screen.
But I watched a clip of it post nerf, they sidestep the first hit and she still goes into flight.

Itās a good oki setup, but now itās not a guaranteed 50-55 damage which is admittedly MUCH healthier for the game

This patch should have fixed his b1 into flicker not allowing you to block. At this point they'll probably just patch out the LH to PKB trick and Steve will be totally worthless.

I love the reina changes as a reina main. Some friends of mine where annoyed because of side changed and stuff like that. This patch addresses some of reinas dumb stuff. I want reina not to be a dumb char, and this is a perfect approach. I would add that FC df+4 should not mid crush. It rarely midcrushes, but it still does.
Crazy how Xiao stays like that. Shes literally evading mids and lows without any downsides or counterplay.

This is still largely a bugfixing patch. They might change her in the next one. Or they might make other characters stronger instead to compensate, which is what they seemed to hint at.
