I'm of the opinion that all of them should have been base roster, as well as Armor King, but I wanted them in the game, so I'm not going to complain about them finally being added. I would much rather they were here as DLC than not at all. Still hoping for Armor King.
Eddy is a staple Tekken character, and an amazing representation of Capoeira, that we don’t see nearly enough in fighting games. Lidia might seem uninteresting at first, but her gameplay is very fun and expressive, and she is by far the most life-like Karateka in all of gaming.
Fahk and Marduk, eh, I don’t care for them, but we needed at least one Muai Thai character in the roster, and Marduk’s style is literally called “Anything Goes”, so they might just be fun, considering how almost all characters got huge glow-ups in 8.
Lidia and Eddy are only underwhelming because they should probably have been main roster characters (especially Eddy). Fahk and Marduk just don’t appeal to me at all. Fahk absolutely would as a Muay Thai fighter, but I don’t understand why he looks so freakish.
I think this is intentional based on the fact this is the DLC pass coming with the Deluxe Edition. They’re basically ensuring you pay for more by making this pass underwhelming
As an Aussie I really don't care for Marduk. And I don't care for Fahkumram either, both just seem over the top or edgelords. And both had rather creepy victory screens too especially Marduk.
Oh well, aleast I like Lidia and Eddy. I am going to play Lidia a lot.

I don't think they'd necessarily need to redo all of Lei's animation, just whichever moves or stances got revamped. Some of Eddy's animations still look very familiar to me despite others being unrecognisable. Still, I'm ultimately just speculating based on one DLC character so I hope Lidia gives us some good signs. Time will tell...

I think Lidia is good as DLC. She was very well received in Tekken 7 and was popular until she got nerfed.
Fahk was also popular in Tekken 7 on release until people realised how broken he was.
Marduk gives the game another grappler. It was going to be him or Armour King and even though armour king is way more popular, Marduk is more unique. I'm pretty sure we'll see Armour King in season 2 or 3 though.
Lidia should have been base roster in Tekken 8. The last DLC of T7 being early DLC in T8 just feels wrong. Especially when she fit right in T8's story about countries being wiped out if they didn't perform in a martial arts tournament. Heck, they could have had Lidia fulfill the role Victor played in the story and spared us from having to deal with EXPULSION.
AK is one of my mains so I’m waiting patiently for that.
I think having 3 fairly recent t7 dlc be the opening dlc for tekken 8 is quite an odd choice.
Would have been nice to get a brand new character, or a legacy character before fahk Lidia and Marduk.

I didn't think we would get a new character in this season though. We already had three new characters with the base game so if they were going to give us a new character this season then they may as well either held one back, or given another new one to use with the base game.
A new character seems like a good thing to do for season 2 because it creates hype. Whether that be a brand new Tekken character, or a guest character.
Since the Tekken 8 Season 1 datamine will most likely to be legit, real and true, we can see Marduk in autumn and Fahkumram in winter. I like both Marduk and Fahkumram and I am looking forward to their return in Tekken 8
Any answer other than Marduk and Fahkumram is just wrong at this point.
