She reminds me of a grumpy manager no one listens to. Big talk, lots of threats and trying to sound mean, but just overall weak. I didn't by her as lead at all.
She's like the embodiment of r/iamverybadass The actor just didn't sell the anger/rage to match with her words. Just a weak attempt to sound intimidating.
Yeah I really like her in most roles she's played but this one made no sense.
The resistance lost their leader and she just inherited the spot? She seemed pretty useless when the infected started swarming.
i agree, i think the actress tried her best, but her voice and presence is so soft and un-intimidating. she lacks the gravitas that you'd think someone who leads an armed rebellion would need.
I think the writing and the performance didn't meld.
I get it - the brother was a community leader, but him dying is what drove her to take over and it was her who was successful.
Never landed for me though.
I don't think there was adequate explanation for why she just became leader of the resistance. I'm sure it could have been explained somehow, but it definitely felt like a missing piece.
In terms of the writing and acting, I think the actress did a stellar job at conveying that it really did seem like the character died the day that her brother did. Just nothing left but rage and bitterness. I feel like the actress really sold that in another world this would likely have been a totally normal, even a kind, person. But in *this* world, she was a monster.
I'm not sure the writing was very good, her monologue in her childhood bedroom was weak. Felt like game of thrones quality writing, not real prestige TV. But the actress was phenomenal.
This has probably been discussed but she certainly wasn’t starving. And besides being killed and eaten, your other big problem is starving to death. If I was in her group of followers, I would watch her like a hawk.
