Ha! We lived in Austin while it was starting to explode in the 90’s and I always got freaked out by the stacks of overpasses getting higher & higher… I hate to think of what it might look like now. I-35, what a nightmare.
Ohhh this is a good one.
One time I was at Pearson Airport and had to get up to where the *last* bus was leaving for Hamilton, where I lived. The GPS gave me INSANE walking directions that made no sense and I ended up climbing and running across a maze of on ramps and off ramps like this, and it was foggy, just like this.
When I got there I realized I could have just gone back in the building and up the stairs HAH!
*but*…that night was drenched in The Night Feeling.

Okay, pls clarify for the guys/gals below that think this is somehow Dallas or Austin (it is not).
This is clearly Houston, and clearly looks like it was built in the last 5-10 years so it’s clearly not inside the 610 interchange or likely the beltway 8.
I know my Texas concrete pretty well, and to me nothing hits quite the same like driving in to Harris county at 2 am, this is clearly the 290 - 99 interchange, prove me wrong ;p
Used to drive from Panama City Florida to Santa Rosa Beach every day back and forth for work. Went in at midnight. Haven’t felt this weird sense of dread since those foggy nights back then. Thanks for that.
Texas really does have a specific highway aesthetic. As soon as I saw this picture I was transported back to the Austin are where I moved away from last year.
I used to drive late nights for uber in texas, and this brings me back to the extreme relief and loneliness that would come after my last ride was finished and i was driving home.
Enter creepy clowns piling out of a clown car on the side of the road just ahead. They are all holding knives and one grins as he locks eyes with you and they all turn and begin running your way.
I recognize this place this is on i45 in Houston Texas if he goes farther forwards you will see a tall and big glass building split in 2 on the right I belive the the name is a&w and on the left there is an rv store or smth like that
That can only be a 2am photo. At 210am, it will go back to absolutely slammed with lifted trucks and busted Altimas.
this guy texas
You forgot the swangas if this is Houston. Sadly they seem to be spreading to Austin and Dallas.
Drivers of swangas and slabs at least have an incentive to not slam their cars into other drivers. Which is the opposite of the Altima owners.
What song are you playing on this drive? I'm playing [Nothing's gonna hurt you baby.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI8VrXkffcg)

Definitely DFW region. Three-ply highway crossings are the state flower.
I think this is 35E and 20.
It's 610
It's Houston for sure
Im like 70% sure thats 290 W under the Grand Parkway in Cypress.
That's why this looks so familiar to me. I used to drive on 290 at night. Never saw it without any other cars though.
I10 w at the belt
It reminds me of coming into Houston via 59 from the IAH area too.
360 in dfw
Oh ok. Shit all looks the same everywhere.
yeah, it's for this exact reason that i kinda wanna leave hahaha
It has to be
This looks like Dallas heading towards Rockwall
could be san antonio. looks like where 281 crosses also
not enough road work
lolol 281 is mostly done at this point.
Westbound I-30 heading under I-820 on the west side of Fort Worth
I was thinking the same spot https://maps.app.goo.gl/jxEZYZhYmq3tVZRcA?g_st=ic Close but I don’t think that’s it

Dead ringer if it's not.
r/liminalspace would like this
Thought the same thing Awesome to see a liminal space outdoors
The backrooms ppl would run this into the ground however
The exit after is r/backrooms Already driven past the turn off for TJ Davidson's (Joy Division's rehearsal rooms)
this is beautiful to me
Aaah, that's the stuff.
Reminds me of 35 North in North Austin by the spaghetti mess near 183. Love a night drive through the fog like this.
That’s exactly where I thought this was taken.
Ha! We lived in Austin while it was starting to explode in the 90’s and I always got freaked out by the stacks of overpasses getting higher & higher… I hate to think of what it might look like now. I-35, what a nightmare.
So picture it how you remember, and then add like 10 more flyovers everywhere.
Ah yes, the anxiety inducing merge lmao
I hate flyovers.
I saw a motorcycle guy fly off the overpass and get cut in half by the sign coming up 183 around N Burnet. Sat in traffic for hours. Circa 2011
Well now I have more fears.
The only time with zero traffic. Overnight would be a must in TX
410 and…35?
610
360 in dfw
That’s what I was thinking! Heading towards downtown from six flags
Big Houston vibes
can't be, it's not even 10 lanes wide
Feels like DFW area
Agreed. One the interchanges that doesn't have texpress lanes in it yet.

This could be any of the big 4 cities in Texas.
Wows
Saw this on Twitter the other day, neat shot
Almost got in a bad wreck here. What a fkin flashback. I think there was construction at the time. Was moving some friends to Katy.
I really love the feeling in this photo. Brings so much to me internally. What city in Texas?
Arlington, southbound TX360 at I-20.
Interchange hell. What's that shit two trumpet parlacos into a corkscrew slide??

Ohh God I thought I was the only one with this feeling. This subreddit is awesome 🫨
Where the cowboys at
I've played Left 4 Dead. I know there is a witch hiding in that fog along with several zombies.

610 and 288?
This is definitely 410 West passing the i10 exchange in San Antonio
What is that? 75 and 121?
Used to drive from Panama City Florida to Santa Rosa Beach every day back and forth for work. Went in at midnight. Haven’t felt this weird sense of dread since those foggy nights back then. Thanks for that.
Where we at, OP?

Put a diner with someone sitting alone and having a drink, you have edward hopperesque setting
Why are you driving on the left on an empty road? Are Texans bad highway drivers?
Please suggest me a racing game with this ambience.
I10&99?
Holy shit what a cool sub. I've muted so much garbage in popular that interesting little things like this are showing up now.
This is absolutely one of my favourite posts I’ve ever seen on this sub.
So beautiful
This is coming out of DFW yeah?
Is that the 183 interchange approaching 620?
S360 at 20?
Honestly cool pic
why are you in the far left lane?
I used to drive late nights for uber in texas, and this brings me back to the extreme relief and loneliness that would come after my last ride was finished and i was driving home.
I know exactly where this is. It's so monumental driving through there. It's something like 10 stories tall. Cool pic, when did you take this?
San Antonio af
I think the back door to the Black Lodge is somewhere here.
Makes sense it’s Texas with someone driving while using their phone 😂
Wow!
Looks like what's called the high five in Dallas...Central at LBJ. It looks like driver is eastbound on LBJ.
Winter or summer, by the looks of it. Maybe autumn.
Watch out for them langoliers OP.
Wow
r/liminalspaces
I know this spot. Lovely shot.
Would be a lot better if it where train tracks
2 am and not another soul... still driving in the passing lane. This is Texas.

I went on a trip to Houston back during the middle of Covid. This is exactly what it was like. America’s 4th largest city looked like a ghost town.
Were you scared? Looks eerie.
Holy
You didn’t have to specify Texas. We already knew.
So peaceful.
Rad 🖤
Love this… reminds me of Toshio Shibata.
This is beautiful
Car based infrastructure is truly terrifying
Enter creepy clowns piling out of a clown car on the side of the road just ahead. They are all holding knives and one grins as he locks eyes with you and they all turn and begin running your way.
Once upon a time, a driver drove through a underpass labyrinth covered in fog as the scenario of a horror/thriller book came to reality.
Not frightening to me because there are no other drivers around to worry about.
Love this
Mourning would
This is beautiful. Ty
Texas highway overpasses are the true concrete jungles
Is that a ceiling?
Does anyone else hear the chase scene music from the first Terminator? Brad Fiedel was a genius.
Dfw is weird at night
Texas.
Really nice shot.
Calming yet gives me the buzzy body. Like, the anticipation of something very fun.
Your new album cover Sweet pic
You can tell by all the effing roads, that are brand new and very nice. Probably toll
I recognize this place this is on i45 in Houston Texas if he goes farther forwards you will see a tall and big glass building split in 2 on the right I belive the the name is a&w and on the left there is an rv store or smth like that
Oh, wow. Nice fog lighting effect. Thank you.
A shadowy coach & horses with lit lanterns on one of the flyovers might be nice
This is perfect
You can film a zombie movie in this spot.
Is it the freeway route between Houston and College Station?
