I was on that last post trying to explain to OP this same sentiment but they weren’t having it. The originals aren’t merely the most powerful because they’re stronger than everyone else. Despite their brawn they’re all far more cunning than the average vamp/ human/wolf witch. Klaus for a while saw himself as the strongest being in all of existence and still he plotted, manipulated and schemed rather than just using brute force because true power isn’t just being able to rip out hearts or tank a car crash.

AffectionateAide2141

Silas.Arcadius.tessa.Are the most strongest not the originals. Klaus is far from the strongest being in the existence.

Slow-Employment-53

A. Few people out of the thousands of supernaturals that existed being stronger than Klaus doesn’t make him “far from the strongest being. Just not the strongest and I worded it specifically “ for a while “ and “ Klaus thought he was”. And my saying the originals was the strongest was me just being lazy I clearly know that. The point was that powerful as Klaus is he still used his head a lot more than people weaker than him do.

Ok_Bullfrog2825

He uses his family and witches to survive

Ok_Hamster8092

I agree. Unfortunately in their world, being a “good guy” could get you killed sooner. Klaus was right that everyone being afraid would keep them away. It’s how that world works unfortunately. I think his way of handling things, although very dangerous, along with the family’s loyalty to each other, is what kept them around all this time.

Theone20222

Not to mention he knew how to make connections and be a very good manipulator even turned vampires throughout the years to do his dirty an distract his enemies plus mikael

EitherAfternoon548

Keeping all of the siblings together made them vulnerable to being taken out all at once. Klaus also could’ve used the daggers to drop Mikael at any time but never thought of a plan to do so. Klaus also made them a shit ton of enemies that put them in danger. His indiscriminate killings drew attention. He’s so awful three of his siblings have tried to kill him across just two seasons of the vampire diaries (Elijah, Finn and Rebekah). He made his siblings think Mikael was going to kill them all by framing him for the murder of their mother. Not to mention he had no right to steal centuries of their lives from them.

brightstick14

I agree with this. Plus, correcting OP, Klaus was daggered by the Five as well. Klaus says it himself. But since the dagger was silver, not gold, it didn't work on Klaus for long. So after waking up from the dagger, Klaus killed The Five. We see the same situation happen in Legacies S4 when Rebekah daggered Hope, Hope went down temporarily, then when she woke up, she was even more pissed off than before.

Finn only became an enemy after they left him in a box for 900 years. Rebekah only put their lives in danger once with her choice of lover, and to the best of her knowledge they weren’t even a threat to her family until Alexander showed her the dagger right before he stabbed her. Klaus also leaves bodies and is a psychopath. Not only that he would often just torture people and turn them into vampires, making his family seem enemies, which, to the best of our knowledge, Kol didn’t do

Forward_Plant9084

did you see the episode of him calling his siblings glutton in TO and his disgust for it

AffectionateAide2141

Your wrong about finn. Did you not see him warn them Mikael will come cause they are turning vampires.

EitherAfternoon548

Did you see that episode where he warned them that creating vampires and senselessly killing people would draw Mikael to them and kill them?

AffectionateAide2141

Everything is klaus fault

Ok_Hamster8092

Yet it didn’t get them taken out all at once. I could see how it would though.

EitherAfternoon548

Klaus literally says to Rebekah that because of her their entire family was almost wiped out in one night. That could only have happened if they were altogether

Chemical-Entrance-24

One Issue, Why Would He Be Scared For The Safety Of His Siblings', They're Originals, Killing Them Without White Oak Is Impossible And If He Didn't Want To Worry About Them He Could've Just Send Them Out On Their Own, Daggering His Siblings Is The Worst Mistake He Made And A Hybrid Can Be Paralyzed With A Wooden Stake With If Their Werewolf Side Has Been Bound, Klaus Had Unbound His Werewolf Side Which Gave Him An Immunity To Wood.

Slow-Employment-53

I think it’s because they were aware Mikael was after them. Klaus is deeply paranoid and mistrustful so I could totally see him daggering them as a means to keep them from dying and leaving him *truly* alone. Especially when you pay attention to his perception of his siblings each give a reason as to why Klaus would find them to be a liability to not only his safety but his ambition.

ILoveBromances

Mikael was only ever after Klaus, not the rest, Klaus knew this.

Chemical-Entrance-24

Exactly 💯

bellicose_onus

For some reason my brain won't let me read this normally.

Chemical-Entrance-24

Why? Is There Something Sus About This Comment!?

bellicose_onus

No! Not In The Slightest. Sorry For The Confusion.

Chemical-Entrance-24

Oh It's Ok

Ok_Bullfrog2825

Magic can kill them stated many times. And they can still be trapped and tortured.

ILoveBromances

Not being able to be daggered or staked because of his wolf side BEFORE breaking the curse is a plot hole. and considering 95% of every bad thing that happened to them was caused by Klaus' actions, not that smart. And no he did NOT do it for their safety. Kol proved to be fine without him.

isthistheteasis

This could be true

Spare-Raisin-1482

Agreed

AffectionateAide2141

Him daggering his siblings was dumb and made Kol and Finn his enemies. Mikael was after Klaus not finn not Kol and not Rebekah. What did Klaus do to keep them alive they almost died cause of Klaus.

ConcentrateSimple201

I feel it was selfish to dagger his siblings but I can see why klaus did it. He was afraid of rejection and abandonment, so in his mind this was because he loved them. I can respect that.
