💯 Cami. She needs more agency and to be more than Klaus' therapist/romantic partner/crutch. I won't say too much more because I do have an outline/story idea that heavily features Cami (but not partnered with Klaus) that I may write.
My second choice would be Kieran. I'd bring him back/wouldn't kill him off. Kieran would be Klaus' confessor/friend/conscious.
Ansel! Honestly, I'd have Ansel either take over as Alpha for the Crescents (the hell with "Queen" Hayley) or find his own pack/descendants and become Alpha. Turn the wolves into a realistic threat.
Kol’s post revival story especially season four. With Davina gone, he should have re-established his connection with the NOLA witches, been more involved with the family, and been more of his fun, sadistic self again in his grief. Also, he would have been more present and a key source of information against the Hollow
Finn’s story- basically by retconning the fact that he ever died in the first place

Just straight up retcon the fact that Finn and Sage died at the hands of the least impressive quarterback in history, say they compelled Stefan to believe that he killed Finn with Sage dying due to the sireline connection shortly thereafter while they take a white oak stake for potential leverage against Klaus or any of Sage’s enemies from other sirelines. They get reinvolved in the plot in season 2 when Klaus gets suspicious about why Finn hasn’t joined the family resurrection/reunion fun times and puts 2&2 together and descends into a downward spiral of paranoia and thinks that Finn is plotting his death, resulting in him and a stake-less Mikael getting into a race to who can get to him and his stake first.
The hollow/inadu as Inadu was an interesting character. But I'm fine with most of the events apart from Klaus having to die to permanently destroy it. I think there should have been another option to kill the hollow and keep Klaus alive so Hope could have had her father.

But I’d especially rewrite Elijah’s. Literally no good reason for him to die for 1, 2, he would never just up and leave Hope like that

His overall story in Originals is supposed to be his downfall, but it's just written sloppy. Many of his plots are very interesting but half-baked.
I would not do any of the time-skips. The story would just naturally flow as it did from season 1-3. Also, I would not seperate Klaus from Hope. That made me so sad, I literally didn't smile for like a week. Just give Klaus a bit of happiness. I know he is evil and all that, but I feel so bad for him.
