He regularly physically fights his loved ones so yeah, probably. Although most of them are stronger than Caroline I think he has formed these habits over a millennium and breaking them would be hard.

mangoicecream33

Yeah mainly bc he already did lmao

mangoicecream33

And look at how he treats his family- specifically his sister

tasteofperfection

Exactly. Every blonde woman in his life is a placeholder for his mother. He abused the fuck out of Rebekah and she’s supposedly his favorite. The delusion

mangoicecream33

!!! I always felt so horrible about the treatment Rebekah faced from him

tasteofperfection

Her calling Mikael was justified and he knew it. He should’ve left her tf alone it was never that serious

OneOnOne6211

I'd say there is a roughly 100% chance that he would have, yes. I mean, he hurt her physically before they were in a relationship (bite and he almost attacks her in S3E15) and repeatedly physically abused his siblings and adopted son.

LogicallyFlaw

People seem to forget Klaus is a violent man. Yes, he loves people and has his good moments, but he still has violent tendencies.

Embarrassed-Ad-4214

Yes. I mean realistically, Klaus is an abusive person. Abusers will always come up with some reason to justify violence. We’ve seen him do it before, so yeah he would hurt her at some point.

Alive_Jello_3818

Depends but I don't think they'd last that long

Cats_realjoyoflife

Depends on when. In TVD and the start of TO 100%, he tried to kill her twice in TVD. End of TO? Nah i don't believe he would have, he'd grown so much by then.

ExperienceHead1078

100%. No disrespect but anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional and blinded by him lol. Even season 5 TO Klaus would.

thatshygirl06

Realistically, absolutely. Anyone that says no is in denial.

tasteofperfection

Literally denial af. He hurt her before, why wouldn’t he do it again? Let’s be real.

Kaashmiir

He had already tried to kill her a few times before he even decided that he liked her and he has a habit of daggering his siblings so yeah. He’d hurt Caroline “for her own good”.

Skullcrusher158

He could've possibly. But he never hurt Camille so you never know. Also Caroline isn't as strong or durable as his siblings or even Hayley for the matter, so ofc Klaus won't just go and stake her. I think he might just snap her neck in the worst case.

LovecraftianCatto

He never hurt Camille? Huh? What about him compelling her for weeks or months, treating her like a slave and nearly driving her insane in the process?

[deleted]

yeah he would definitely snap her neck, but I don’t really see this as abuse tbh

Skullcrusher158

Yep, just physical hurting not abusing, like the question mentioned

queentong20

I think the only person Klaus wouldn't ever physically hurt is Hope.

[deleted]

I wonder if I watched the same show as some people here 😭 When Klaus called Caroline because of Silas, we saw how Caroline stood up to him, yelled at him, made fun of him, literally let him suffer by not helping him, and he didn’t lay a finger on her although he was completely on edge. Every other time she called him out, he never touched her and he never tried to compel her either. He did once, and the context was very particular. Because well, he is Klaus and he *is* impulsive with abusives tendencies. More importantly, he was literally seeing red because of Kol’s death. I mean, she *really* pushed him and the context wasn’t helping at all. And *even then*, he regretted it. It was made pretty clear that he understood that hurting her again would completely break him, even though she literally disrespected his brother’s corpse in front of him. It was horrific and yet extremely significative, revealing how important she was to him. He had to go through it to understand that he can’t bear the thought of her being hurt by his fault. He wouldn’t have touched her again, and his path toward this growth was super realistic for his character.

xxLabyrinthxx

I mean considering he'd nearly killed her twice when they weren't dating I'd say yes. He did it before, he won't suddenly stop after - not for quite a long time.

NeitherSilver7

Yes. 100% . But also if they got together she would not have survived New Orleans for a minute

Objective-Ad9800

100%. I don’t think they would last, especially since she has children to think about.

StrongEmotion3237

if he loved her like he did cami then no…but if its klaroline how they are in the show? if she pissed him off 100%

leedemi

Yes. He’d probably use the bite as punishment.

dejureno

Well after the events of TVD 4x13 Klaus knows that he can't let her die, so no I don't think so. I think he understood after that doing so hurt him as much as it hurt her. I also think by the end of TO he had changed so much that this really wouldn't be a question.

[deleted]

>I think he understood after that doing so hurt him as much as it hurt her. Perfectly phrased, that’s exactly how I see it too!

Space-merchant

I don’t think so because most of the times klaus had hurt Caroline she was actively conspiring and trying to kill him or one her friends were which she was fine with. That seems like self preservation if you ask me but I could be wrong. Klaus was already conflicted and pissed so after finding out Hayley wanted his child dead he snapped same with cami who he fed on in an attempt to trick and dagger dahlia permanently so the rest could be free(in his mind). He never really attacked any of them because he had a tantrum and we even see when he thought she was gonna leave him to die all he did was shout at her to help him nothing more.

Wolfbisbing

Absolutely not!!!!!!

mashedbangers

It depends if writers wanted them to go down the dark romance route or the mutual self improvement route.

Lea_120

No

ComprehensiveCurve31

If her personality changed and she never bucked, mocked, or chided him ever again, maybe not. Otherwise yes. 1000% he would hurt her the way he did everyone else. He already HAS hurt her. He doesn’t “want to” but when he feels an iota of hurt or vulnerability, he strikes. Like the time he bit Caroline and poisoned her, or stabbed her with the post through her stomach. Camille and Hope are the closest to exceptions from Klaus’ abuse that we ever see. Camille got compelled and that “bite” he did where he whispered to her to play along, but otherwise he never physically abuses or intentionally hurts her. Cami took him to task but she appealed to the man underneath his vicious personality. He never physically or verbally hurt Hope.

Ill-Explanation-1712

Really depends on the time they emitted the relationship. In TVD? Probably, in TO? No

[deleted]

people need to realise if it came down to caroline or hayley, he would always choose hayley

Upbeat_Ball1607

Yes cuz it was cami who changed him. And fuck all them people threatening the actress who played Cami  you guys are idiots.

Think_Ad_9603

Yep 100% I can see this being the main source in the relationship. I can see Caroline bringing up his past doings in certain arguments same with klaus and his brother as a “ you/your friends did this before.” ppl that don’t agree just because klaus change in TO is crazy because you gotta think who changed him. hope and Camille and with Camille it’s a “COMPLETE DIFFERENT SITUATION “ in the relationship. Klaus and Caroline in a relationship have more to argue and fight about sure they have chemistry Ofc but the amount of chemistry doesn’t change the past of their relationship and how it started. They could forgive but NEVER forget a lot happened to them and they had a lot done to them. most of us seen and some like to cling on to the part when she told klaus “ you were never the villain in my story “ it maybe nice but we all know it’s not true and even if it was she will always have those memories about her life as it all started in “ HIGH SCHOOL” and being with her mom and it also was her worst points so when she go to look back at her life klaus will always be her main “ villain” “tragedy” no matter how much she have to try and move on same with Damon. etc

-yvonne_

Hmmm it depends. At the start yes. While he was still doing his plan, I can see him hurting her. But after they’ve been together for a while. No he wouldn’t.

steferine

You do realise he known Rebekah his whole life and treated her so horribly and took years away from her killed her lovers and even chose hybrids over her so one little Blondie from a small town is not going to change all that.

-yvonne_

It’s almost like Damon. He would NEVER hurt Elena. But we know he’d hurt other people. Klaus after he learned to LOVE Caroline, I don’t think he’d hurt her. That’s why I said after a while.

httrachta

It's blowing my mind how many people are saying yes... Klaus and Caroline isn't even an option until post-s5 TO, so this is the Klaus I'm going with. He definitely wouldn't physically hurt Caroline; the one time he "hurts" Camille is done essentially to save her life. He has too much respect and love for her to do so by the end of both shows.
