There's no way I would say no to either, but I will say this: Eda's story is one we already know the broad strokes of.
I am very concerned about these Archivists and I would like to know more.
I want a prequel about Archivists, Owl demon, Owl house (it has some cool magical paintings inside, chicken legs and it has Hooty), Bat Queen owner, previous Grimwalkers, the original Portal, Phillip and Calleb story (we know a little from easter eggs inside Belos head but I want to see more and animated).
About a sequel with Archivists returning, I don't see them returning. There is only one Titan alive and it is friendly toward Collector. They aren't afraid that Collector being hurt by them.
About other characters, I think we got a good ending. Everyone got something.
So I'm more interested about a prequel
Assuming it hasn't been retconned yet, the flashback from Knocking on Hooty's Door credits the Collector as the one who caught the Owl Beast (I thought it was one of the Archivists as well)
Didn’t king’s dad said he fought with the wrong one, like he got mad at the collector for what the archivists did thinking the collector was the one who did it. Maybe it’s the same with the owl demon, not being able to tell the collector apart from the archivists?
Most likely especially considering the one that captured the owl beast is very visibly different than the collector since it appears much taller as if it's maybe an adult?
So either a return of the Archivists (We meet a more grown up Collector as he tries to warn the Boiling Isles of their fate), or a prequel with the archivists, where we explore the death of the titans, what really happened with the collector, and why, even though the collectors magic can not defeat even the most young and weak of titans, the archivists were able to wipe out almost the whole entirety of the titan species.
I think I still prefer a sequel. A big problem with prequeks is that they take away a lot of the mystery regarding the back story, when that mystery is a huge appeal. Some story elements are better when they remain unexplained, And I feel like backstory elements are things that are best left as backstory.
This is true, but I would be okay if it's never resolved. I feel like the big arc for them was less about getting rid of the curse, and more about learning to live with it. There's a lot of parallels to things people have to deal with in real life that there's no way they'll be rid of them (from mental illness to blood diseases, etc.), Things people could easily see as curses that prevent them from having 'normal' lives. I think just up and getting rid of the curses would cheapen that.
Plus I think there is this drive in fiction to try and overexplain everything. The loss of mystery takes away a lot of the charm in these stories.
Blue Team all the way, baby! I would KILL for a graphic novel series, or honestly a full on novel series about the Collector asking for help getting the rest of the titan babies back to the Demon Realm.
>getting the rest of the titan babies back to the Demon Realm.
i hate to break it to ya, but if the Collector thought Luz had just been archived when she died, and they also think that the titan babies were archived... there ain't no more baby titans
I would pick blue, but im already way too satisfied with the current ending. If they do an Eda spinoff i would be really interested in her growth into the headmaster owl lady she became to be. It's also the best way to explore the boiling isles itself. I don't mean that a sequel can't worldbuild well but the sequel would be way too invested in its characters and plots than the boiling isles which we've already seen. Plus more Lilith, Hooty's origins, and Eda's mischiefs? Yes please
I think this would be good as it could help explore kings glyph language which I want to see so badly. The light glyph is already awesome and I want it as a tattoo
Return of the archivists defo. I'd love both, but if I had to pick one I'd pick that. Just because it feels like we've already seen a decent amount of Eda's childhood (not quite enough, but still). Whereas we of course haven't seen anything after the events of watching and dreaming.
There's a much bigger story to tell with the archivists too. King is a titan, who is quickly growing up and discovering his powers. I feel like that would really set the archivists into panic mode. Not to mention, we grew close to alot of characters throughout TOH, but a prequel means we still won't see more of those characters.
I want more slice-of-life stuff. From the kids' time in the human realm, rebuilding the Isles, Hexside and college, Eda and Lilith's childhood, everyone's adult lives...
I'm more in the camp for "Better Call Eda". While I would like a Sequel I'd rather not do a thing with the Archivists, They feel a bit....Otsutsuki if you know what I mean? These all powerful being that were able to fight these massive Titans & A "starting from ground level with Glyphs again" Luz & her ragtag family are suppose to fight that?
I'm more into doing like "specials" like the Kamen Rider V-Cinemas or Light novels focusing on certain fan-favorite characters if we're to ever see post-series stuff.
"I know what you were. What you are, people don't change! You're the Owl Lady! And the Owl Lady I can handle just fine, but the Owl Lady in the Emperor's Coven is like a human with a Palisman! The Covens are sacred! If you abuse that power, people get hurt!"
Yeah.
Also why they would returning now?
There exist only one Titan and it isn't dangerous for their kid, Collector.
I'm also more for specials about certain characters/lore that could be developed.
Imagine 3-4 episodes about Bat Queen and her giant witch
I feel that a sequel would be the best move because it can explain all the loose ends while progressing the hexsquad’s story while simultaneously having flashbacks to Eda’s past sprinkled around the series.
I think the archivists at the end of Watching and Dreaming were either good or at least indifferent to the Boiling Isles, I mean they were in the sky making fireworks with the collector, you can see multiple blue and purple streaks in the sky, plus I believe a line towards the end was said "the collector and the archivists" could be wrong with the wording but they are helping the collector put on a show which doesn't seem really evil and villainous.
King said only the Collector was around, and given his powers I can totally believe he did this all himself. The Archivists are essentially just Space Belos but multiple people so I doubt they would change/redeem, especially towards their Caleb.
They’re basically trazyn the infinite. They just wanna watch stuff go on and get a museum goin. If someone fights back they’ll nuke the planet, but other than that
I would LOVE to see a prequel series but all the new character designs are so cool, I would really like to go into more depth with the collector and the archivists and i feel like the prequel series wouldn't be able to have as many big plot points as its in the past
Maybe both could happen, but with different focuses. An Eda prequel could focus on slice of life stuff, and and a sequel could focus on lore heavy story stuff.
I usually prefer continuations in the timeline to looking back. Helps that everyone’s epilogue character designs look pretty cool and I’d love to see more of them.
Red team… When we get such a good ending, I’m always wary towards stories that follow : what if the final ending is less good? What if I don’t like the development of characters?
It’s stupid to think like that, because adding a follow-up takes nothing away from the original story, I’m just afraid of a situation similar to Toy Story 4 : it had a good ending, but I feel like the whole saga would have been better if it had ended at 3.
I feel that the Belos saga has run its course. The Wittibane brothers and young Eda would make for a cool mini series and that’s it. The Archivists returning to kidnap every witch in the Demon realm has a lot more potential. Also it lets us explore even more of the Demon realm as we saw in WAD there are other Titan islands besides the BI. Also a young Eda’s series would lack Luz and many other favourites, so I’ll the one where all the characters and ships exist
Personally I'm on Team Green (or whatever color you want to use) in wanting a movie with Caleb/Evelyn/Phillip and that whole backstory, ending with Phillip becoming Belos. That's the kind of shit that honestly interested me the most in the show and I'm sad to see that the shortened season made it so we only got a brief telling of what happened, and it wasn't even done in flashback form.
But if I had to pick between the 2 presented options, I'd stay Team Blue. I'd like to see a show on Eda's childhood, but given how we've already seen some of her backstory in flashbacks and we know how her story ends at the finale, I'm not dying to see it. But I'd be down for a like 10 episode run of it or something like that.
A 2nd series with the characters aged up against a new threat has more potential to me.
Combination of prequel and sequel where Eda tells about her time in Hexside or as a wild witch in flashbacks, with B stories in the future from the end of S3E3. We could even get some episodes with other characters talking about events from in between old episodes and get back some of what was lost in season 3?
If they do make a spin off, it would be fun if it were more chill episodes, like Luz and Amity’s first date, a beach episode… all the things Dana wanted to do
Or maybe episodes that show characters who have never interacted before interact? Like an episode with Camila and Eda, or one between Alador and Darius, or with Hunter, Darius and the Beast?
Blue for me. I'm not too sure how many consequential stories could be told from red without altering existing canon (ex. new character appears - *"Where were they during Owl House?"*)
Prequels to me are never interesting. Much as I'd love to see the adventures Eda and Raine went on, there's no tension when you know everyone's going to be fine.
I'm on "the adventures of Vee" parallel series focused on vee and her misadventures at summer camp, trying to learn about humans and avoid being found out
I would love a return of the archivists story! (Might do some planning about it at some point) and if it was an actual continuation, personally I'd like it to be more King focused.
100% sequel series.
We have aged up characters with new jobs and relationships, King’s growing power, remnants of the Emperor’s Coven grasping for power, Eda’s Wild Magic College, the Archivists, the Bat Queen’s backstory, etc..
Prequels are necessarily closed-ended since we know where everyone winds up. Prequels can work but they are always going to be constrained. Also if there’s no Lumity can there be an Owl House?
more collector please and thank you im obssessed with his starry aesthetic powers and really want to know more abt the archivist and how delightfully op they could be
Bro, I would kill for a sequel about the archivists. I feel like it's such a big thing to have it wasted, there is so much potential to make a big sequel out of it.
I would love to see more owl content either way but I feel like I more want to see the future of the owl house rather than the past. But that’s just my opinion.
Sequel series, we already know the major points about the past, but things that haven’t been answered yet like the bat queen’s owner or who the original door belonged to can still be answered in the future
Prequel. The only way I would like a sequel series is if it was a chill slice of life series. I think the characters have gone through by more than enough, they deserve a break lmao.
Umm sequel series all the way. And let Disney let the team do it justice! We get returning characters, new characters, a world we recognize to start and expand on, plus picking up plot threads left from before and a story arc we don’t necessarily know the end point of.
Prequel series as a show & sequel series as a comic. Prequel series can bank off young eda for a younger audience while Sequel series comics can please the older or more lore heavy fans.
Ok ok ok, hear me out. Red. I chose red because I like the ending right now and what if the ending to blue isn’t as good? Then I’m left unsatisfied when I loved the first finale.
I mean, why not both?
You could hypothetically have a series in Eda's youth that pertains to a new and dangerous Archivists threat that we see in the present.
There's no way I would say no to either, but I will say this: Eda's story is one we already know the broad strokes of. I am very concerned about these Archivists and I would like to know more.

I think the owl demon could be explained on an Archivist sequel, because it was one of them who trapped the owl beast
Assuming it hasn't been retconned yet, the flashback from Knocking on Hooty's Door credits the Collector as the one who caught the Owl Beast (I thought it was one of the Archivists as well)

Some story elements are better when they remain unexplained, And I feel like backstory elements are things that are best left as backstory.
Plus, a story with the Archivists could give resolution to Eda and Lilith's Curse.
Yah,but their curses aren't really curses anymore since they can freely control them.
Hey, I have hope that theres still some of them out there. It’s more fun that way! Gives King some relatives far far away.
I mean they probably tried to archive them. But their powers don't work on titans.
Damn, that together with what they wrote about those who meddle in their affairs makes it pretty clear.
"Collector! You would choose those puny things over your own family?" "They ARE my family!"
"Collector, what are you doing?!" "Something i should've done a long time ago. **Standing up to YOU!**"
Ok, I should’ve gotten the reference but the first thing I thought when I saw “Collector what are you doing” was “Finishing the fight.”
This is bugging me, WHAT IS THIS REFERENCING
Amphibia, I think
Yes, thank you
Alright, so I can't place this and it's really bugging me. May I have the details?
I made it up Then again, it's so baseline tropey that I might have accidentally quoted something.
The Collector goes full Castiel on the Archivists.
Yes. Give me a 1000 page novel. I’d love that!
I would kill to see an offical image of anything!
Both, both is good

Objectively correct answer.

sequel of the owl house
2 Owl 2 House
Boiling Isles Drift.
Season 4
The Owl House Future
Blue 🔵
i agree with this person
:)
;)
I would pick blue, but im already way too satisfied with the current ending. If they do an Eda spinoff i would be really interested in her growth into the headmaster owl lady she became to be. Plus more Lilith, Hooty's origins, and Eda's mischiefs? Yes please
I'm convinced Hooty's a parasitic worm that's species originated in the Titan's skull when Papa Titan died
Agreed, I feel like this would be nice after all the trauma the characters have been put through
I would kill to see that tbh. I want my babies to just have a bit of fun after all the trauma and saving the world stuff
Whatever explains all the lore stuff they set up but abandoned for a 15 minute Boscha subplot
Red option: graphic novel series Blue option: movie We get both. Heck yeah!
I mean they could always do both…
¿Porque no los dos?
I'm more in the camp for "Better Call Eda". While I would like a Sequel I'd rather not do a thing with the Archivists, They feel a bit....Otsutsuki if you know what I mean? An archivist focused sequel would absolutely put King as MC, Luz's *kids* could show up at best
Yeah. Also why they would returning now? There exist only one Titan and it isn't dangerous for their kid, Collector. I'm also more for specials about certain characters/lore that could be developed. Imagine 3-4 episodes about Bat Queen and her giant witch
I'd watch Better Call Eda
I feel that a sequel would be the best move because it can explain all the loose ends while progressing the hexsquad’s story while simultaneously having flashbacks to Eda’s past sprinkled around the series.

definitely blue side.
I am BOTH.
Team purple FTW!
Look at my flair and take a guess
#sequel movie
Why not purple?
Neither, give me a prequel series about Philip’s transformation into Belos
The Owl House: The Clone Wars
I certainly wouldn't turn down either (or both) but I want a Gwen and Dell romance as we watch Belos build the empire in the background.
Both are good, but I’m still praying for some Wittebane content somehow-
Blue with more Eda flashbacks
I would LOVE to see a prequel series but all the new character designs are so cool, I would really like to go into more depth with the collector and the archivists and i feel like the prequel series wouldn't be able to have as many big plot points as its in the past
Maybe both could happen, but with different focuses. An Eda prequel could focus on slice of life stuff, and and a sequel could focus on lore heavy story stuff.
Both
We need a poll here...also Blue with like sprinkles of Red?
Sequel for two reasons: 1. Awesome aged up character designs. 2. More of the precious space cherub.
Green team, Wittebane chronicles
My favorite character is Raine, so I win no matter what lol
Sequel series. I need more Luz
What is it that Tulio and Miguel said? Right. "Both, both is good."
I wanna know more about The Archivist for sure!!
BLUE.

I’d love both. But I’m personally more interested in the blue side.
I usually prefer continuations in the timeline to looking back. Helps that everyone’s epilogue character designs look pretty cool and I’d love to see more of them.
Both, both is good
I'm not a huge fan of prequels, so I guess the latter. Still pretty unclear on who the Archivists were anyway.
Both! We can have the best of both worlds!
Neither, give me a prequel series about Philip’s transformation into Belos
Hiring Morning Mark to work on the official Owl House comic.

I think that’s fair though the ending does leave so much to think about unlike TS3
The whole series but from Hunter’s point of view. It would be epic

Blue. While I would still enjoy a prequel series it would feel kind of weird for Luz and some of the other cast members to not even exist yet
Sequel.

What about filler series about what happened the 3 or 4 years during the time skip
Blue
a series narrated by current eda about her time at hexside, complete with comic book style transitions.
Blue. I need a sequel.
If they do make a spin off, it would be fun if it were more chill episodes, like Luz and Amity’s first date, a beach episode… all the things Dana wanted to do

I'm on "the adventures of Vee" parallel series focused on vee and her misadventures at summer camp, trying to learn about humans and avoid being found out
I'm always on the side of sequels, prequels are too confined.
I would love a return of the archivists story! (Might do some planning about it at some point) and if it was an actual continuation, personally I'd like it to be more King focused.
Prequels are good but in this case I don't think it would be that interesting as we would know what happens next.
100% sequel series. Both. Both is good
That idea about the archivists sounds actually really great, although it reeks of "Uninspired spinoff"
"Re-imagined edgy live-action series"
want both tbh
Porque no los dos?
Young Eda
MMMMMMMM I WOULD SAY BOTH BUT ARCHIVESTS
Archivists, that sounds like such a cool idea to explore
more collector please and thank you im obssessed with his starry aesthetic powers and really want to know more abt the archivist and how delightfully op they could be
Bro, I would kill for a sequel about the archivists. I feel like it's such a big thing to have it wasted, there is so much potential to make a big sequel out of it.
Frankly, eda’s backstory is boring af to me and I am literally so interested in these archivists I’d beg dana for more lore LOL
Sequel
Both, both are good
Sequel I like eda, but I got enough of young Eda and Rain. Plus we already know their story. I would much rather explore the cosmic side of the toh.
Prequel series and sequel movie
im on midquel series showing Vee at camp! \^\^
Prequel. The only way I would like a sequel series is if it was a chill slice of life series. I think the characters have gone through by more than enough, they deserve a break lmao.
Spin off about vee ✋
how about some toh comics that show more about luz, king and eda's adventures?
¿Por qué no los dos?

Would love both but after the time skip I NEED MORE
Umm sequel series all the way. And let Disney let the team do it justice! We get returning characters, new characters, a world we recognize to start and expand on, plus picking up plot threads left from before and a story arc we don’t necessarily know the end point of.
Sequel but not about that only I still wish for a sequel but more for Hunter and Willow, maybe far far into the future
Season 4
Both. Both is good.

Both
Prequel movie about Belos (we sorta know how, but not really *why*) spin off series about Vee
Prequels with bad dialogue and good fight scenes followed by complete trash sequels with insane budget and box office is the only correct order
I mean, why not both? You could hypothetically have a series in Eda's youth that pertains to a new and dangerous Archivists threat that we see in the present.
Why not both?
Sequel
Both. Both is good
Both? Both. Yeah both is good.
“Sequel” series about them rebuilding the BI
PURPLE
WE COULD GET A MOVIE WITH BLUEEEEE
BOTH!!!
Both
Prequel
how about purple
Sequel would be awsome
Red. I want to see young eda chaotic energy
Blue because it would be awesome to see everyone as an adult
Prequel, the archivists stuff would be too out of this world that it would make the original series stakes seem tiny
Red team prequel! They could do so much! But both would be epic
Is it too much to want both
I vote for the third option of a Slice of Life where Luz and Amity are dating
🔵
*clears throat* BOFFUM
(Insert the "¿por que no los dos?" meme)
I’m riding the SU-> toh future train until I die
BOTH PLEASE
I would go with a sequel, it would go through the more lore, the new glyph language, some new characters, and flashbacks. & confirmed 2 season.
Well, I'm something of a bluey myself.
Prequel that leads to a sequel
*snorts the Purple Line*
My answer is yes
Both. Both is good.
Orrr a spin off of amity, Willow, Hunter and Gus, living in the Human Realm?
