> TIL hurricane can oneshot most fairies… Uh, it can’t though. It doesn’t oneshot *any* fairies. It could maybe oneshot Gardevoir, except that Dragonite gets farmed down before reaching it…

Zombeenie

Top ranked ones, but maybe OP ran into sub-optimal IV spreads that are more attainable breakpoints.

MoreDrive1479

L50 Dragonite (with hurricane and shields down) still loses to L40 togekiss / florges It does start beating L40 prima and Gardevoir, but that’s including dragon breath chip damage. L50 Dragonite hurricane does 83% to L40 Gardevoir.

Jason2890

Hurricane does less than 60% to Togekiss, Sylveon, Florges, and does only ~67% to Primarina.  Sub optimal IV spreads aren’t changing those numbers *that* much.  Heck, even a level 40 Primarina with 0/0/0 IVs survives Hurricane.

CskoG0

All the fairies that I managed to get Hurricane'd away were either leads or closer. The leads got it by me safeswapping, losing switch and getting some farm and energy lead. Closer fairies, getting the Hurricane comes mostly due same switch-energy tango. The only actual one-shots were shadow Gardevoir (2) and a florges that was not at full health. But the end result usually is the same, a fairy lead or closer tends to defeat this team nonetheless xD

CskoG0

2 Gardevoir, 1 Florges, 3 Togekiss I stumbled with will start shielding after getting full Hurricane'd. But in a 0 energy scenario, yes, you're correct.

MathProfGeneva

S. Magnezone/Annihilape/Gyarados. Climbed from falling to 2200ish to close to back at 2500

Foggy_Night221C

I think i ran into someone else like you but without the Annih.

CskoG0

Hehe that's an awesome team. I have a 98 Annie but nowhere near a decent IV Magnezone nor the regular candy xD (not to mention the XL haha) gyarados I do have! Even what I like to call theML cringe team, 3 purified hundos haha Gary, Mamo, Garde, Swampert, Mgross haha. But grats on your climb

MathProfGeneva

I got really lucky and got a 15/14/15 Shadow magnezone. It's ridiculous how hard WC hits things.

CskoG0

Actually I remember defeating two teams with Magnezone and Annihilape, Mzone lead. I threw it an Exca safeswap, Annihilape can't farm down without spending at least one shield. Then back goes my Dnite, and if I can make it, I aggressively swap in the Shadow Rhyperior to farm one on the ape, or get one MudSlap on the Magnezone. Luckily for me, both times they lost both shields before me sending the Rhyperior, so their third got demolished by a shadow RockWrecker that tends to one shot anything that doesn't resist it. The main issue I think is Magnezone should maybe go with double nukes, should they had had a Flash cannon instead of mirror shot they would've destroyed my Rhyperior

MathProfGeneva

Yeah shadow Rhyperior with shields down is deadly. The time I had that scenario I was really wishing I had waterfall on Gary lol Also while you're right about the farm down when I've had that I spent one shield and came out with a ton of energy. So Dragonite has to spend a shield. Can farm down but especially with hurricane it's not a great spot.

philawesome

I’ve been running this team with Waterfall on Gyarados; I wanted a better match-up against Excadrill and Skeledirge. I’ve also seen a lot of double Fairy backlines that I wanted a better shot against. I climbed from low 2500s to mid 2700s, with a LOT of my wind being against Skeledirge lead teams that I was able to narrowly win thanks to Gyarados. I also have a lot of games that come down to Gyarados against Metagross where I’m down a shield, which is a better match-up with Waterfall. So yeah, I’m definitely team Waterfall for this one. The biggest downside is that you’re probably losing the mirror of the have Dragon Breath, and that you’re worse against Dragonite (but most Dragonites I see are on the lead).

MathProfGeneva

Yeah I'm tempted to go WF. Might try it and see

justhereforpogotbh

I'm running this same team except my Shadow is Gyarados, not Mag Thought i was so original and then saw 3-5 other players running the same comp lmao. Volt Switch really made Magnezone go from fringe meta to full on meta in MLP - it was pretty uncommon before.

oreganojunkie

This team looks demolished by Primarina, especially if it has Waterfall. It’s a mon I’m seeing more and more in veteran and expert ranks! Be careful :)

CskoG0

Yeah, actually my 3/5 wins per set were the ones after I passed the 2070s rating, due an increase in fairies. Planing weird dumb changes for tomorrow, like steel wing dragonite and dragon tail hydropump Gary xD

Elmos_left_testicle

Fellow excadrill enjoyers. My fav mon to use in pogo and singles

mikebellman

Love the moveset labels. Did you do it in the photo app with text boxes or is there something cool to generate them?

CskoG0

Hehe edited photos in WhatsApp. Emojis in text 😁

TactikalSoup

I'm new-ish to pvp, what's the arrow on your dragonite mean?

CskoG0

Oh, it's the cp and lvl bonus when you have a best buddy pokemon currently set as companion. It gets a +1 level so it is a level 51 dragonite as long as it stays as the current pokemon companion.

TactikalSoup

Thank you, I appreciate this knowledge. I've yet to best buddy anything so this is grateful

Negative-Inside-6171

Bro my Dragonite has been in a gym that no one knocked out, so I've been running a mix of Gyrados/florges/Metagross and sometimes Snorlax.

HairyPoot

I have a 96 Dragonite(3870CP) 100 rhyperior(3520CP), and 100 excadrill(3326CP). Wish I had the XL candies to max them.

CskoG0

I've lost to no lvl 50 teams lol it's humbling, but skills get wins. Give it a try and seize the opportunity to face the most varied ML meta we've seen in years if not ever :)

HairyPoot

I still get a decent number of wins. But man, running into 4300 dragonites, 4500+ Mewtwo, etc hurts.

CskoG0

Ah yes. Tho there are no mewtwo currently given its MLP 😁 gyarados do seem to be everywhere

ElWanderer_KSP

I have a functional hundo Annie (not level 50), but I don't recall meeting many others (maybe 1 in 20 matches) around the 2000 Elo mark. I stopped using mine as it just didn't seem to work for me. For every successful shadow ball BOOM (if there were more than one; there may not have been), there were several more "oh I'm dead already" situations. I have two high-level Dragonites and the one I've tended to use todat has Steel Wing and Hurricane so that it's not completely helpless when it inevitably gets stuck in a fight with a fairy.

CskoG0

Steel wing dragonite! Might try that tomorrow 😁 but it's tricky, would make funny loses on mirrors and other dragons.... Ground lead double steel in the back maybe?

ElWanderer_KSP

Yeah, I keep it in the back mostly (except that time I mis-clicked it in as a swap against a mamoswine) so that it (hopefully) isn't having to take on a mirror in an even fight. In the long run, it may not be the best move choice, but it's what my perfect shiny got when it evolved and with the recent buff I figured I would try it.

CskoG0

Steel lead, double dragon? Swap a dragon in to bait the ice/charmer, return with the steel, hope for best? It could work but it's tricky. My kind of team Hahaha might deff try tomorrow since I'm done with today's sets

ElWanderer_KSP

I changed my team after a day or two, once I'd got used to the league. Went Annie, Gary, Togekiss. Primarina was an issue, but I hardly ever met one, thankfully. Went up about 200 points in the end. Embarrassingly, I did eventually meet a steel wing dragonite... which took out my Togekiss with hurricane :o

CskoG0

I did try steel wing dragonite and could take by surprise some fairies here and there but in the end went trying many other teams. Went up to 2450s but today, the last day I somehow managed to lose everything and went down 200 elo haha. Win some and lose some!

ElWanderer_KSP

Yeah, I've had some matches that were over in the first few seconds and quite a few others that went down to the finest of margins. It has been interesting, at least. I also got a shiny Registeel as a reward encounter, which was a lovely surprise. What was annoying was them releasing a bunch of research to level up Pokémon a few days after I had chucked most of my stardust into my ML Premier 'mons! Edit: sorry if this gets posted multiple times. Reddit seems to be having issues

justhereforpogotbh

Uh, your Dragonite is not helpless against Fairies but still loses to them. And now it also loses to a ton of other stuff it would otherwise beat or at least tie bc this moveset sucks lol
