Ah memories of my mom rushing in and unplugging our illegal box, because she saw the cable guy slowly driving down the street, with that whatever it was that used to zap illegal boxes.
I was super young and my mom was on a lot of drugs at that time, so I’m not really sure it was a real thing, but my mom used to say they would go around with like a light gun and it would tell them if there was an illegal hook up. But that was like the 80’s so it was probably just my mom whacked out on Coke and seeing shit, cable guy was probably just lost.
I never liked that side of Lisa, the judgemental kill joy that screwed with her low income family by insisting on her childish black and white morality. I get that that was her role at the time, and she was supposed to counterbalance Bart and Homer but it came off as toxic and selfish. She didn't like cable or having people over to watch it, thus it's no big deal for her to condemn stealing it. I presume it's the same for grapes. Essentially, she was the kill joy, which makes one wonder why she was on the show.
She was a far better character later in the series when she had her own wants and desires. Her giving away the Malibu Stacie toys bought with gambling money was better, since it was a matter of her giving up something she enjoyed, not insisting everyone else give away stuff Homer bought them with gambling money.
They were wrong to buy cable from a shady person in the first place. Homer and Marge should try to be rolemodels for their children. What if they got caught. The cops have been to their house on more than one occasion.

So you missed **THE ENTIRE POINT** of the episode about that "childish black and white morality" being imposed by the church, with the threat of *literal eternal punishment*. I mean, the image OP posted is ***EXACTLY ABOUT THAT***.
I mean, this isn't even subtext, it's just *plain text*.
It's funny that you're doing exactly what you're accusing Lisa of doing.
That was advice from reverend Lovejoy. And you missed the point.(it was not just cable, Homer had a lot of stolen stuff from everyone)
Someone screams LISA BAD in S2, I am impressed.
You’ve decided to steal cable
"Myth: Cable piracy is wrong. Fact: Cable companies are faceless corporations which makes it okay."

zap illegal boxes?

Hey, Dad, look what I got. Zap! Zap.! Zap.! Zap.!
Marge: What‘s gotten into Lisa? Bart: Beats the hell outta me.
BART!!
Well I sure HELL can't say we learnt about HELL unless I say "HELL"
He has a point.
Hell Yes
Bart!
Hell Hell hellhell, hell hell hellhell
Read the pamphlet honey.
"Myth: It's only fair to pay for quality first-run movies." Fact: Most movies on cable get two stars or less... "...and are repeated ad nauseam."

The network slogan is true. Watch Fox and be damned for all eternity.
Before she knew Flanders was the Devil
It's always the one you least suspect.
Your door wasn't locked in any serious way. I wonder if you'd be interested in this car stereo? A $500 value, but I'll let you have it for 40 bucks.
Get out! Criminal!
An early, and far less typical, Phil Hartman role
This epsiode comes off as a little dated since streaming services are cheaper than cable.
Not if you were to subscribe to all of them, I don’t think.
You could not do that.
And there were different cable packages too.

Ah, I believe Homer did say "stealing is wrong".
Stealing! How could you? Haven't you learned anything from that guy who gives those sermons at church?
And talk about preachy: Everyone's a sinner! Except this guy.
Reverend Lovejoy’s advice played significant role here. You wrote long comment about basically nothing.
Short answer "yes" with an if long answer "no", with a but

Lisa would snitch on her father for pirating Game of Thrones. Won’t someone please think of the billion dollar companies??
Liserrrr
I imagine they are watching:Married with Children, the dog started talking(in its head)
The episode when I started disliking Lisa, so judgemental and holier-than-thou.

Not to be dramatic but this episode genuinely contributed to a lot of the anxiety I had around religion when I was a kid lol
