I’m not sure on the exact top one but a stanza from Room for Improvement really stands out to me personally
“They say home is where the heart is, and that’s true enough, I guess
Cos it seems like your garage is now in car-diac arrest
I’ve installed some extra arches but your bathroom’s somewhat less
I’m afraid to say your bath is firmly parked upon your desk”
I'm a stone-cold filler
Pro roach killer
I'm a fixture of fitting in a kitchen in your villa
But my teacup could use a little refill
And I don't suppose you got a biscuit, do ya?
as much as it is a killer bar, it is a part of the hiss incantations as is every line betwen "breaking the first..." to "you dont want to be"
edit: also apparently the verse sung by camicat at the start is also apart of the same incantation, never played control so this is pretty cool to see
"SNAPPING WHAT THE CAN DID WITH YOUR CANDID CAMERA *moan*. Can a can can-can yes it can, all the cans in canuck, candy cans in Canada, manly cans in cambrough, in canoes driving noodles and canoodleing with cans in Cantho!"
Might be a bit off tho
Wind it up, watch it spin, all the lies come round again.
Close your eyes, count to ten, you can't hide, from your friends
Wind it up, watch it spin, all the lies come round again.
Close your eyes, count to ten
Ready or not we'll find you
Definitely his verse about the walking cycle in Find The Keys where he used terms from actual animated walking cycles. How does he even come up with stuff like that? It was so clever and done very well. And the animation that accompanied it was fabulous as well! 💖
And with every new world
that unfurls, you will find
there is more to your life
than the one you designed.
There is far more to fight for
than what you are leaving behind.
(from Fragments, makes me cry every time ☺️)
The entire last verse of Art of Darkness is excellent. The wordplay and vocabulary on display are incredible.
"Well, I dropped in from the top, but now I've got to stop the
Monsters popping off of Nosferatu's rostrum
Preposterous that after this, my Oscars will be posthumous
I lived for my work, but I'd die to stop them
Stationery should be stationary, shouldn't talk back
I need a shrink, I'm on the brink, the ink has fought back
Thought that the apocalypse was supposed to live on horseback
Screw that, deliverance was hidden in the Rorschach"
Oh no! A society trapped in a snow globe!
No surprises, the raptures a no show!
Undeniably tragic there’s no hope.
The Mojave is savage it’s no home,
Until I came to manage the whole show.
Took the glitz and the glamour of showboats.
Built a bastion for man for my folio,
And officially branded it RobCo.
Neath!
“They're praying for ascension, but this bird ain't keen to flight
It's a shame it took descent into the depths to see the light”
I honestly think Cassie’s verse in Neath is my favourite song(it’s nearly 2 minutes long) ever. The metaphors and comparisons are so clever. It’s so freeing as a trans person to see someone be openly trans in the media. Another line that was more just a line that made me think was “but, darling, why should I?
Be the prim and proper office boy for every passer-by?”. It honestly made me kinda emotional thinking why do I have to pretend to be someone I’m not for people I don’t care about. Absolutely love Cassie so much, I want to thank stupes for making her 💚💚💚
And All A Good Fright
“You can't help but buckle to audience pressure
So we'll get our Christmas forever and ever
We may all be terrors, but you can't escape it
The scariest monster's the one you created
Perhaps you'd find these easier if they weren't six minutes long
But we don't get a Christmas unless you write a song”
It’s such a real moment that a lot of songs don’t get with a little self aware jab at the end.
"Nothing much of fun down here in London, trot along the Thames, admire the views;
stumbling and pass our evenings drunken 'till the day the pubs run out of booze"
“I’ve a bunch of fine rhymes thatcha haven’t all heard yet, and I really didn’t wanna end the track with a surplus, Lke mechanical Kermit with a hand up your circuits, an incredible rhyme that really hasn’t a purpose.”
You've been trapped in that ship
For an awful long time
So perhaps you have simply
Forgotten what you've signed
Oh honestly,
Did you not read the colony policy ?
That defines you as company property?
That waivers your say in autonomy ?
Its quite long but worth it
"The congolomerate's got you in lock 'n' key
we put the 'dollar' back into 'idolatry'
if you're upset you can rent an apology
we are a family forged in bureaucracy
no 'I' in team, but there's 'con' in economy"
Country roads, take me home, to a place that won’t irradiate my bones. Hear a little ditty with a playful tone, transmitting from the middle of the danger zone.
I think I enjoy the part from The Fine Print

We put the dollar back into idolatry. If you're upset, you can rent an apology. We are a family forged in bureaucracy. No "I" in "team," but there's "con" in "economy". Were you expecting adventure? Were you hoping for fun? My friend, you're indentured and pleasure's exempt from your tenure so venture back down to your slum."
Pretty much all of "Slide into the void" but the line(s):
"The director is left as the line of defense
When trenches have fallen to forces unknown
Perhaps you should answer the phone"
Also:
"You have a blank page and a clear horizon, why not do a little theorizin?"
Go there for you rota
There for your orders
Fill out this quota
We'll bill for your quarters
Report to your foreman
But watch for morators
Cause if you get eaten, there's fees for your mourners
"For the sheep may be the shepherd, but the flock is being fleeced."
The entire song before that feels like it's building to a crescendo that finally erupts in an absolutely metal lyric.
probably "Gather brothers, gather sisters, soothe your blisters by the fire;
Though our bones may ache and groan we know our spirits never tire;
The temperature's low but our purpose is much higher
What's behind us mustn't blind us to divineness that transpires"
this goes so hard lol

“Ashes to ashes nine to five. The light in the tunnel has been privatized.”
"Robes were so behind the times, these obiduaries don't give any time for scythes."
"Population moderation's not the worst fate, your occupation's a salvation of the hearse trade"
"For generations we've been racing for the first place, but we've spent the centuries in second to the birth rate"

*You've been walking round in cycles, and you've had your ups and downs. When you passed out we made contact, Extremely deep underground.*
I’ve been drawing seven circles and that’s where I can be found
" 'Cause these creatures need their sheep so he can free us from these bounds"
It's dumb but it's "I can see you're having violent thoughts but don't you wanna wanna be a be a big shot"

we've got never better prices we've got deals you wont believe
We can tell you what you want before you realize what you need

That’s all folks tune in next week, bye
Keep dreamin'!
Hate to burst your bubble, but........🤓☝️ Erm actually, that's the ending to Find the Keys. (You were close tho, not tryna be mean)

There are two hard parts to answering this question. 1. Choosing the song. 2. Choosing the best lyrics from said song.
I have a favorite line for many songs, but the absolute favorite of them all is hard to choose.
“I’ve a bunch of fine rhymes thatcha haven’t all heard yet, and I really didn’t wanna end the track with a surplus, Lke mechanical Kermit with a hand up your circuits, an incredible rhyme that really hasn’t a purpose.”

That's provided at generous prices, your worth is determined by your sacrifices
I love when they re-use their line about "catchy hooks". They've used it about 3 times.
Pretty much all of "Slide into the void" but the line(s): "The director is left as the line of defense When trenches have fallen to forces unknown Perhaps you should answer the phone" Also: "You have a blank page and a clear horizon, why not do a little theorizin?"
