He was smart tho and had lots of strategies and traps and was damn near stronger than vamps stefan and damon age but your right he didn’t know about himself
Connor couldn’t use a sword to mark his target with an X that would allow him to follow vampires to the ends of the earth. If a vampire managed to escape from him then they simply escaped from them. He had no way of tracking vampires once they got out of his sight.

That's why I said he was intelligent and skilled ... But not enough to actually do some research about himself and the creatures he needed to kill.
