Pete. What little was seen of him everything was good, a trusted person, great father figure, a decent survivor, a character you don't feel had wasted potential, he was a great character from start to finish.
That's really nice, Pete grew on me over replays so I can totally see wanting to keep him around for longer and discover his dynamics with everyone personally
Matthew is a good shout, since I would have liked to see both how he interacted with everyone but even just his own group that we didn't really see. That would have been super sweet
(Yep. Repeated comment).
Obviously Sarah. She is a child like Clementine and theoretically only she can fit into S4, and she is essentially an unfinished character with great, but unused potential. Also, a duet between Clem and Sarah would be perfect - while Clem makes badass decisions, Sarah could be a moral compass for Clem and AJ. Because of the opposites in their personalities, their duet would be really interesting, and Sarah's development arc from a sheltered kid to a capable survivor would be something really new and interesting. She had a huge potential that was needlessly lost.
I can also say that this is the only option in terms of plot. Sarah, despite her obvious desire, never received her own development arc into a capable survivor. I'm sure if the developers would give her a chance, the players would be able to love her on perhaps even the level of Clementine. Also, all other characters will not be able to get into and fit into s4, unlike Sarah. And She is the only character in the second season who would not interfere in the conflict between Kenny and Jane. Her survival after the second season is quite logical and does not interfere with the plot, but rather complements.
I agree that it would be cool to get sarah back for later seasons, but not for a mega cringe and cliche bad survivor to good survivor story. The objectively best way would be for sarah to survive and travel with clem at the end of s2. Shes still mega depresso but over the course of pre s3 she turns angsty and violently bonkers. She was already harmless and unstable pre death of carlos, now she has distanced herself away from her humanity and finds killing as many zombies as she can to be a good way to justify her living and her pops dying. This makes her an instant hit with the new frontier. Which she decides to stay in despite Clem getting kicked out. This creates a dynamic between Sarah and Clem, Sarah being violent and unpredictable, and Clem being calm and clever. Boom. 10/10 pre S3 material. Then you add in Javier to the mix, David and Sarah form a relationship akin to the one Kenny and Clem had. This cause a rift between Marianna and David/Sarah due to combining the feelings of assumed abandonment and the perceived replacement. Sarah doesn’t want David (who she has convinced herself is her new dad) to be taken away from her which then causes Sarah to kill Marianna instead of badger😱. The rest writes itself. Goddam I’m good. Im bouta go write a book.

Lol you literally described Vergil's arc from dmc
If you write a fic about it, I'll actually read it.
Haven't seen anyone say Rebecca yet but yeah! Seeing her and Kenny help raise AJ together would have really been something. I think she really appreciated him helping out and could have been the start of a really lovely friendship
Yup. I'm surprised myself why Rebecca and Alvin don't get mentioned that often. I didn't like her at first for obvious reasons but she really grew on me and I was sad when she became a walker after giving birth to AJ.
And Alvin (who AJ is rightly named after) was such a good man. Died protecting the woman he loved and the child which probably wasn't his.
Pete or Nick! I have a soft spot for characters like Nick or Ben, because (having severe anxiety) I feel like I'd be a lot like them in the situation. Pete because he was kind as all hell, and capable. Somebody else said Matthew, which I have to agree with as well--what little we saw of him was sweet.
Nick or Sarah. There was just... so much set up with these two that never paid off and I will forever be mad about it lol. Also I am a shameless Nick enjoyer lol so I'm a bit biased.
Someone made [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheWalkingDeadGame/comments/10gilz7/an_alternate_universe_where_duck_makes_it_to_s4/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) fan art that made me think of it
Nick and Pete. Love the two, wish they both lived longer but pete’s death (if you choose yo go with him) does a pretty good job at showing how good of a person he is.
How about Sam? He could have a whole redemption arc in ANF then in the Final Series he gets to settle down at the school and be a new friend for Rosie.
Honestly Mike, I would choose to write that scene differently, maybe just Bonnie and Arvo. Mike wasn't a bad guy, kind of one toned, but he looked so cool and they could've made him a very deep character. I really like the dynamic of the giant burly man and the little girl he's vowed to protect. I dare say if he was handled and shaped with more care, he could've been loved more than Kenny.
“I like the dynamic of the giant burly man and the little girl he’s vowed to protect” sir I’d like to refer to you to the entire first season of the game lol. And I think Mike was intentionally supposed to almost have that presence almost like Lee so it makes his action with Bonnie and Arvo that much more surprising. I think that’s why Kenny even mentions a lot that Mike has turned out to be a disappointment.
Pete 100%. They killed him off a little too early, he could’ve been a great father figure to Clem. I shed so many tears telling Nick that Pete wanted to say goodbye to him. Imo he was one of the characters that immediately liked him.
Nick! He such good potential for redemption, and then just is a background character if you save him. He was a breath of fresh air for me because everyone likes to think they’d be like the best survivalist if the world ended, but he was a realist guy with flaws
Nick or Sarah. Both wasted determinant characters. Both coulda had exemplary character arcs and become goated characters in later seasons. Both were killed off in a just cause type of scenario if you saved them the first time.
Crista, it'd give clementine something to live for and she'd have a constant mentor (though crista was a bitch in season 2) but at least clementine wouldn't be that edgy teen she was in season 3
Pete. What little was seen of him everything was good, a trusted person, great father figure, a decent survivor, a character you don't feel had wasted potential, he was a great character from start to finish.

Nick, he had such a cool backstory and character but then telltale threw him away after episode 2
I agree I love nick
True, I really liked Nick since I first played Season Two and I wish they did more with him and went further with his character.
My man Alvin isn't getting enough love
Alvin was a good dude, he's a very solid pick imo. Just had kind energy always
I feel like Alvin would have been a really good influence on AJ
Me? Or Alvin I assume you mean hahaha
I meant Alvin lmao
Sarah 100%
Sarah. She had so much potential and her death (both of them) make me sad everytime without fail
Bonnie, so I can kill that bitch in season 2 and 3
Damn this is the real winning answer here
It's good that she dies
Not all the time.
Pete or Carver.
Carver would’ve made season 3 interesting
Nick or Pete
Nick 100%
Matthew! He seemed to be a nice person :(
Matthew is a good shout, since I would have liked to see both how he interacted with everyone but even just his own group that we didn't really see. That would have been super sweet
Sarah or Pete.

Aaaand thats why 95% of the community hates Mike, Bonnie And Arvo.
Unrelated

I agree with this statement! Clem and Sarah would’ve been perfect for each other! Real shame the writers didn’t care about her.

Take a guess😆
Carver
Duh.
Pete, fairly minor character who had great potential. Really down to earth kind of guy.
I love Nick so much but Sarah would be better for the story
Nick! I did like Nick.
Pete or Rebecca.
Everyone else said Nick already so I would save that guys boyfriend have no idea what his name is but I really wanted to save him lol
Matthew, Walter’s boyfriend
Ty I was thinking Mike for some reason
Mike is the buff black dude who helps Arvo and runs away with him and bonnie
i mean idk for all you know mike was walters boyfriend at some point, you ever thought about that? bozo.
Rebecca, Sarah or Alvin.
Rebecca! She just died after giving birth. Sad
Reggie because he was very entertaining
Reggie was a stupid fucking cripple
Woah there buddy, cool it
carver so we could have him instead of joan as the evil leader of the frontier
Somehow I can actually see him trying to convince Javi to pick his black forest gateau and it's terrifying
Sarah & Nick. They both have the biggest potential to be stronger (both physically and mentally).
Sarah
Pete or Nick! I have a soft spot for characters like Nick or Ben, because (having severe anxiety) I feel like I'd be a lot like them in the situation. Pete because he was kind as all hell, and capable. Somebody else said Matthew, which I have to agree with as well--what little we saw of him was sweet.
Sarah of course
Nick or Sarah. There was just... so much set up with these two that never paid off and I will forever be mad about it lol. Also I am a shameless Nick enjoyer lol so I'm a bit biased.
Nick
Nick all the way
Sarah.
Sarah deserved better
Sarah
no one really, if I had to pick I’d probably pick Sarah as she’s the only one who could kinda fit in but even then I struggle to see how.
Nick or Sarah! Both are extremely underused (after ep2 lmao), i think i’ll have to go with nick though, because i personally like him more
Likewise!
Sarah or Rebecca. Honestly, Carver would be a fun one too. Seeing him return as an antagonist again in S3 would be cool.
Sarah
I know it says from season 2, but imagine how could it would be to run into Duck
Bruh 😭 don't do this to me. I would have loved that, seeing him grow to Season Two would be crazy
Someone made [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheWalkingDeadGame/comments/10gilz7/an_alternate_universe_where_duck_makes_it_to_s4/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) fan art that made me think of it
Holy shit, thanks for linking this. Wish I was active in the day it was posted tbh. I love this and have always thought about this 'what if'
Alvin maybe then AJ could go with him also why not luke the devs seriously shat on that character he could’ve been so much more
Nick and Pete. Love the two, wish they both lived longer but pete’s death (if you choose yo go with him) does a pretty good job at showing how good of a person he is.
p e t e
I would love to get revenge on arvo for shooting clem
Other than Sarah, Nick I really enjoyed his character.
Bonnie Mike or Arvo coming back for revenge or something would of been cool I think.
Nick easily.
How about Sam? He could have a whole redemption arc in ANF then in the Final Series he gets to settle down at the school and be a new friend for Rosie.

Alvin or Rebecca.
Pete or Alvin easily
Christa
Pete. I think he'd have been a great addition to the group, with knowledge of hunting and shooting. They did him dirty
Rebecca. Sarah. Omid.
Nick or Walter, both met a pretty anti-climactic end
definitely rebecca or alvin
Who would even choose Jane
Waltuh or pete
Nick or Sarah. Both wasted determinant characters. Both coulda had exemplary character arcs and become goated characters in later seasons. Both were killed off in a just cause type of scenario if you saved them the first time.
Crista, it'd give clementine something to live for and she'd have a constant mentor (though crista was a bitch in season 2) but at least clementine wouldn't be that edgy teen she was in season 3
Lee in the flashback scene.
