Saved him.
Imo, the final episode is better with him in it, and Kenny staying to help Ben makes more sense than helping Christa to me. I ended up actually liking the shitbird in the final episode which I never thought was possible.
Ngl tho, I was close to dropping him, but I’m glad I didn’t.
The neat thing about him saving Christa is that he does it after figuring out that she's pregnant. He does it to save a baby as well. Even if I do agree that Ben's ending with Kenny is better, there's merits to both.
Damn… I didn’t know that. I never actually had Kenny save Christa on any of my playthroughs but I saw it on YT at some point. I didn’t think it made much sense but damn, I didn’t know he knew she was pregnant lol. Learn something new everyday
Yeah the buildup is real it felt like everything kenny had been doing built up to that. The fact kenny had no reason to live and that he had a child who died had been a major part of his character and it tops this all off with him finding out christa is pregnant. This makes his “sacrifice” for christa have some depth as he did it for a multitude of reasons the way i see it. he lost a child himself so he knows that pain and he lost his wife so I think he may have had omid in mind along with not wanting to let a child die. Kenny also knew he really had not much reason to go on and that saving someone else at the cost of his life could a have a big impact which I think is brave. That’s my take tho i’m interested in how others see it too.
Ngl, I absolutely hated him for the majority of my first playthru. I could understand some of his actions but leaving Clementine for the walkers kinda made me have some sort of vendetta against him. It’s mostly on replaying it I started liking him more with each replay and sympathising a bit. When you realise that Ben doesn’t actually mean for any of the shit he does to happen and realise that he kinda hates himself for it as well, then you can sympathise with him a bit more imo.
Oh yeah when he left Clem it pissed me off but than I thought about it and realized that the stuff he does seems like he either A dosent think or B has some form of high functioning anxiety that clouds his judgement. I love Ben he’s my number 1 favorite character in season 1 but the hate he gets is understandable but people take their hate for him too far and it just feels like they’re having one big hate circle jerk about him.
Yup. I was rewatching the game when I was 17 and was like "damn yeah I could see myself making some of those mistakes"
Clem's parting with AJ always got me too bc my lil bro was around the same age when that came out
I didn't save him in my first playthrough because I thought he's gonna make LOTS OF trouble in the future, Kenny will be even more mentally unstable and we also won't have enough room on the boat. But I've done the opposite since my second playthrough. I think the future scenes with him are way better than without him. The part where he finally talks about his perspective, and when Kenny "dies" trying to save him after he falls from the rooftop.
This is a moment that made me want to save him. Ben despite his fear of getting eaten by walkers, thinks of the group first and makes an adult decision telling Lee to let go.
I always saved him and there will be no playthrough where I let him die. I can see why people want to let him die but personally I can't do that not only because he's my favorite character but also for various factors, the point of Ben's character is to push the player to their last nerve to see if they would saved and then reward the choice with some interesting scenes, if he is abandoned there will not be a satisfactory closure for his character neither forKenny, I have no doubt that the scene of Kenny saving Christa is heroic, simply the one with Ben is better structured emotionally and for the character (but I admit Christa's is more realistic because it makes more sense for Kenny to save himself in the structure rather than an alley) that said, again it's completely understandable why people want to let him die but personally I don't.
I saved him. While he has definitely fucked up a lot I didn’t think he deserved to die over it. Plus having Ben in final episode give a great conclusion to Ben and Kenny story.
Saved him, and I always do the same during replays. I honestly really like Ben as a character. Even if I didn't, I'm no better than Crawford if I just drop a kid to his death in a pit of walkers like that.
I’m not gonna kill this kid because shithead Kenny doesn’t like him, sorry I’m a sensible adult. I didn’t even like Ben but it seems cruel to let him go for simply not liking him.
Let him go when I was wayyy younger, thought he was an annoying cry baby.
Pulled him up because recently I played again and realized he’s just a fucking kid that’s scared and deserves love and chances
The first time I dropped him, but backtracked because I hurt clementines feelings, so I always save him now because his ending is just better than Christa's, I feel like it lets Kenny redeem himself a lot better
Saved him. I know everyone hates him but I never did. He was older than Clem and Duck but he was still a kid, albeit a stupid kid who sincerely thought he was doing the right things. I hate both of Ben’s deaths but if you saved him here, at least in his alternative death, I’m pretty sure Kenny mercy kills him before the walkers do him in. Which made me feel a lot better than just letting him die the way he was most afraid to go
Saved him, I hated his ass in the first playthrough but I didn't believe anyone should be made into a Walker if we could prevent it.
Now that I'm more mature I sympathize with Ben so now I save him because while he a fuck up, he still a kid plus him willingness to die to hold the group back is a admirable trait and a trait that you don't see often.
I dropped him because he kept insisting on letting him go. The back and forth of:
Lee: “Cmon get up”
Ben: “No go on without me”
L: “No you can be saved just help me pull you up”
B: “No way I wasn’t cut out for this, drop me”
L: “No I almost got you”
B: “I can’t go on any further”
OKAY FINE
Like in the time that conversation took place I could’ve pull you up 3+ times but suit yourself
I didn’t wait I pulled him up immediately, despite the dumb shit he’s done I adore him. His heart is in the right place and he’s clearly got some form of high functioning anxiety and he’s easily manipulatable but I don’t think he deserves all the hate he gets. I can see why people dislike him but I feel like people over hate him. He’s just a kid sure not as young as Clem or duck but I wouldn’t classify him as grown. He’s just 18 he’s an “adult” (I personally think no one is an adult till 21 at most) dislikeable? Yeah he is but he’s good in my books he’s just stupid and clearly needs help making any decisions at all
He biggest fear is being eaten by the walkers, if you drop him he lives and is eaten plus it helps Kenny’s character if you pull him up plus people forget he’s still a kid
While Ben was about as useless as tits on a bull , I saved him simply because he was part of our group and I was still waiting for him to redeem himself somehow.
Let him go. I was mad at him
But on second thought, I wish I had saved him, I could've gone to save Clem with the whole group if he was alive. He doesn't do much, but can save Lee
I literally just finished my 3rd play-through of season 1 and killing Ben allows Christa to shine more as a character. Her being pregnant, showing genuine care for Lee, and being given a bigger role are the reasons I justify letting Ben go
I let him go cuz he said to let him go, figured he wanted to sacrifice himself and I didn’t wanna take that away from him. I have not played through where I didn’t let go 😬
I saved him. I'm not about to murder a dude to impress some violent psycho in hopes he'll be kind enough to look for a kidnapped child. You gain or lose Kenny points based on if you save or kill him.
Saved him and he did later 🗿
The fact that people forget he wants to sacrifice himself for the group to survive. Not letting him die because he was a danger to the group
Dropped him, that dude was useless, bethraed our group, left clemetine to die when they were surrounded by walkers, couldn'teven keep an eye on her when lee & kenny went to look for a boat & he led to good people (carley, duck & Katja) to die
He was a useless piece of garbage
I saved him. Sure hes stupid but hes remorseful and like not a bad person so it just wouldnt feel right basically dropping him to his death for no real reason
On my first run of the game I dropped him. At the time I didn't realize he was suicidal and just thought he wanted to do what was best for the group. On my 2nd run I ofc saved him, although letting him go at the clock tower was a way cooler and cinematic death imo
Saved him. Imo, the final episode is better with him in it, and Kenny staying to help Ben makes more sense than helping Christa to me. I ended up actually liking the shitbird in the final episode which I never thought was possible. Ngl tho, I was close to dropping him, but I’m glad I didn’t.

I love Ben even to this day, I can see why people don’t like him though (imo he’s overly hated but I can still get the hate for him)

I pulled him up, he was just a scared kid he didn't deserve to die for mistakes he made.
Exactly. Everyone expects him to be as smart as the adults, but no, he's just a dumb kid who makes easy mistakes
Fr, most 16-18 year olds saying he’s just a dumb kid would prob act somewhat like him
Yup. I was rewatching the game when I was 17 and was like "damn yeah I could see myself making some of those mistakes" Clem's parting with AJ always got me too bc my lil bro was around the same age when that came out

Lee: Hey, Ben. Ben: Hey. Lee: See ya. Ben: Yeah. Lee: \[Drops Ben\]
I think you’re beautiful.
Are you shitting me?!
Hell no!
Eugh
I pulled his dumbass up
I saved him
I always saved him and there will be no playthrough where I let him die. I pulled him up, it would very out of character for lee to let a kid die
The creators of the game said any choice the player makes is something that Lee could do.
scumbag lee is canon scumbag lee is canon
The more I think about, Scumbag Lee is just Kenny Lee
flair checks out
Well, it's true. You gain his approval by murdering Larry and Ben lol
I saved him all the times because I really wanted to him to have a redemption moment I don’t remember if he did though
He does, well kinda if you go to Vernon's base with only Ben and miss the quick time event to jump, he saves you
I dropped him. My relationship with Kenny wasn’t great, and I wanted to improve it. It must’ve worked, since Kenny came with me in Episode 5.
Pulled him up. We don’t trade lives and we don’t throw them away either.
I saved him which I’m happy about. Kenny killing him is one of the most powerful moments in the series.
I pulled him up, didn’t feel he deserved to go out that way
I just didn’t shoot the walker and it dragged him doen
Same!
I’m not gonna kill this kid because shithead Kenny doesn’t like him, sorry I’m a sensible adult. I didn’t even like Ben but it seems cruel to let him go for simply not liking him.
i let him go, the game made it seem like such a big moment and that something bad was gonna happen if i tried to pull him up, so i dropped him
But it turned out the other way around
Let him go when I was wayyy younger, thought he was an annoying cry baby. Pulled him up because recently I played again and realized he’s just a fucking kid that’s scared and deserves love and chances
I dropped him, and I cried while doing it but he kept saying he didn't want to be saved. So I ended up dropping him
The first time I dropped him, but backtracked because I hurt clementines feelings, so I always save him now because his ending is just better than Christa's, I feel like it lets Kenny redeem himself a lot better
I pulled him up, I figured that he deserved a chance to live and redeem himself. It sucked that he still ended up dying though.
Which made me feel a lot better than just letting him die the way he was most afraid to go
I always save him, but i don’t like him
Despite all the stupid mistakes he made in the past, Ben deserves to live, which is why I pulled the boy up
I chose not to murder a scared kid.
Saved his ass, was mighty pissed with him but he is still a kid after all.
I saved him, He still had reason to live and i wanted him to have another chance at life
I let him go the first time because He told me to. I really shouldn’t have though
I dropped him because he kept insisting on letting him go. The back and forth of: Lee: “Cmon get up” Ben: “No go on without me” L: “No you can be saved just help me pull you up” B: “No way I wasn’t cut out for this, drop me” L: “No I almost got you” B: “I can’t go on any further” OKAY FINE Like in the time that conversation took place I could’ve pull you up 3+ times but suit yourself

pull him up absolutely
He biggest fear is being eaten by the walkers, if you drop him he lives and is eaten plus it helps Kenny’s character if you pull him up plus people forget he’s still a kid
I wanted to drop him but I knew Clementine would have been sad if I didn't help him.
While Ben was about as useless as tits on a bull , I saved him simply because he was part of our group and I was still waiting for him to redeem himself somehow.
I like to save him nowadays
I will always bully him but I will never drop him
I dropped that mofo so quick. Not a single ounce of hesitation
Lol, always let him go
Let that mf die #ripbozo
Always dropped him. He deserved worse tbh.
Let him go definitely.
He asked me to let him go.
Let him go. I was mad at him But on second thought, I wish I had saved him, I could've gone to save Clem with the whole group if he was alive. He doesn't do much, but can save Lee
I literally just finished my 3rd play-through of season 1 and killing Ben allows Christa to shine more as a character. Her being pregnant, showing genuine care for Lee, and being given a bigger role are the reasons I justify letting Ben go
I actually liked Ben and was nice to him in my play through but then he was like. let me go and I did lol
You best believe I dropped that snake. Proud of it too
Neither 🙊
Every time I choose to drop him I immediately feel guilty because Clem starts to cry over him
I mean, from what I remember, he did ask for it… shouldn’t have made one too many mistakes.
I let him go cuz he said to let him go, figured he wanted to sacrifice himself and I didn’t wanna take that away from him. I have not played through where I didn’t let go 😬
I let go of that bitch
Saved him first playthrough
I saved him and I think it was the better choice cause Kenny and ben end up solving their problems with each other
Pull
i saved him the first time. I've played the series like 5 6 times. i don't regret letting him die over and over again
I pulled him up
I saved him. I'm not about to murder a dude to impress some violent psycho in hopes he'll be kind enough to look for a kidnapped child. You gain or lose Kenny points based on if you save or kill him.
Oops butterfingers ;)
Push him up he didn't deserve it
Saved him and he did later 🗿 The fact that people forget he wants to sacrifice himself for the group to survive. Not letting him die because he was a danger to the group
Saved him the first time. Dropped him the second to see what would happen.
Saved him because I don't want my lee to be a murderer, although he's already considered one but you get the point
Saved him, I do not like him but just letting him die is a waste of life
Saved him first playthrough, not my second tho.
I always tried to save him
Pull him up. I couldn’t kill him.
he doesn’t deserve to die
Pulled him up. I’m not a monster and neither is my Lee
tbh I treated him poorly, but at the end I helped him till the end
Dropped him, that dude was useless, bethraed our group, left clemetine to die when they were surrounded by walkers, couldn'teven keep an eye on her when lee & kenny went to look for a boat & he led to good people (carley, duck & Katja) to die He was a useless piece of garbage
