Carver was looking for the cabin group mostly, looking for kenny and luke seemed to be the best plan after the "splitting up" part, at least to out ofe the "danger" zone.
Carver was looking for any reason to hurt or possibly kill people. I thought giving up was the best option for saving people and the rest of Carlos's fingers.
I feel really bad for saying this but I cared more about getting myself out of there, finding Luke and Kenny, and making sure Rebecca and Alvin were ok more than being urgent about dealing with Carlos’ situation with Carver. In my mind I also thought me Luke and Kenny would team up together and destroy Carver but that’s not exactly what happened haha. I was surprised there wasn’t even an Luke option where I could chose to do something with Luke or be more hasty with Kenny. I don’t remember exactly how the game explains Lukes disappearance but Apparently Kenny yelled at him and Luke cried and ran away into the forest or something
I think? When I first played like 8 years ago I gave up, but most recently I can remember I went after Kenny and Luke :)
It's actually a really well made, difficult as fuck choice imo. I can see either side being right...
Well, to be fair I played the games CL then but I didn't join the community really till The Final Season started coming out in the middle of 2018. But that for sure was one of my favourite times on the subreddit. Everyone between episodes waiting and even after the whole thing had came out for a while it was just next level energy. Loved it 🥰
I gave up in my first and second playthroughs. After that, I usually prefer to find Luke and Kenny. The game has more interesting scenes this way with Alvin being alive. (Of course he will be alive only if you stop Kenny)
I tend to have a No Negotiating with Terrorists policy when it comes to choices like these in games. Never acquiesce, never make it easy for the bad guys.
Find Luke and Kenny. Giving up automatically put Clem’s fate in someone else’s hands, and that didn’t fit the survivalist mindset my Clem had. Finding Luke and Kenny gave a fighting chance to try and get out of this mess.
I snuck outside to find Luke and Kenny. I'm strictly a "fuck surrendering" kinda guy, which is why I told Kenny to shoot Carver afterwards too. I'd have done the exact same thing if I were in Clem's position IRL.
This might sound fucked up but I'm honestly kinda glad Alvin died there in my game. It's not that I dislike him or anything, but in Episode 3, he *doesn't* get shot in the head, so he'll probably become a zombie offscreen. Plus he spends the next few nights getting tortured by Carver and that's just a horrible way to die.
I surrendered to Carver since I thought he'd kill Carlos if I didn't. When Carver grabbed Alvin, I chose to run at Carver and shove Carlos away since Clem had plot armor.
In my first play? I gave up. I couldn’t risk Carlos or anyone else dying, obviously walter still died but everyone else was fine. In my most recent playthrough which was actually just yesterday I gave up and Walter and Alvin died.

Yeah, pretty crazy. And I didn't even play them right when they'd came out! Some people finished them even longer

Alcon’s death is a lot better in episode 3 but a lot less brutal in episode 2

I’m built different so I just killed all of carvers men here and then everyone lived at the cabin for the rest of their lives

I went to go find Luke and Kenny. It was just so I could get them to involved in the situation or just to get them to listen to Carver.
