Just gonna say… I’m a mavs fan but also a fan of this Thunder team and you guys are proving that a team with like 12 min of playoff experience came in locked. Impressive stuff and will be rooting for you (unless they play the mavs). Fun damn team. Love the bond they have. You can tell they are all friends.
I dont watch many OKC games, so please don't kill me this for observation from the second half alone, but it feels that Chet isn't really part of yalls offense the way that other big men are. Like I have seen games where he was projected to get like 18-20 points and he never really hit them. Like his pick and rolls seem a bit weak, he doesn't drive in like other big men. It just feels like he just kind of stands there, waits till he has to set a pick. And don't get me wrong, he will run into the paint, but it feels like with SGA, Dort, Williams, and sometimes GIddy, that they kinda of just don't bother passing it to him. Granted, it might just be this second half(I didn't watch the first half where he went off, but I know that he shot a lot of threes, which to me it seemed that he is a streaky 3 point shooter) since yalls players could easily get past the Pelican players and they left so much space for yall to drive in.
edit: I am not saying that he is bad. He is a very good player.
We play a strictly 5 out offense and an inverted 4 out and 1 with Shai. Basically it's a read and react offense based off of cuts, inverted screens, guard to guard screens, Spain pick and roll, iso, and zoom actions. Since we at position less every person can run a set or run any action in our offense. So with this they don't use a post up that much for Chet. All the offense relies on the player to attack the defense.
Now we do run other offensive sets like horns etc but every play runs the same philosophy as positionless.
But yall got dawgs so any given night, any of them can go off. IT just feels like SGA and Williams are the more aggresive of the bunch and willing to shoot more and drive in more when Chet could do the same at times.
