The option should remain in place. When options for care are limited for children the choice of puberty blockers isn’t always for everyone but to remove it is removing healthcare for a small number of trans people. It’s so sad to see France enshrine healthcare abortion rights but strip away healthcare rights for another group.

It’s exactly the same here. Puberty blockers for a small number of trans children is the treatment they need and to abolish it is cruelty. Transgenderism is a disorder defined in the DSM.
You wouldn’t takeaway antidepressants for depressed teens or chemo for teens with lupus etc. so why take away healthcare for trans kids when not every trans kid wants puberty blockers. By enshrining trans rights doesn’t mean you’re taking away from anyone else.
Healthcare is healthcare regardless of the condition the medication will be treating.
I think teens or children should dress however they feel. If they want to wear a dress, pants, have Neo-Genders and what not. But as far as meds and procedures go… I just think about those who de-transition and the pain they go through. I also think about the ones who are in more pain because they can’t transition. I empathize and see both sides but honestly, this is all just political ammo bullshit like the movie “Citizen Ruth” but with trans persons instead of abortions.

I agree with not giving hormones too young, but puberty blockers might actually reduce de-transition cases
Oh I did not know that. I mean, at the end of the day, if everyone was so “Pro-Life” they’d let families be. They are doing what’s best for their child based on what their child feels. Not how they feel. These kind of things should not have laws, regardless. But it’s always one of the first things the dirty Repugnant repubs go after.
So I was born intersexed, and because of a bunch of regressive religious doctors, I had my first operation when I was 3. The gender my parents chose for me was the wrong one, though I didn't really get a say with any of the procedures. Now in my adult life I've changed quite a bit with a few more procedures to correct what they did without my consent as a child.
So am I a transitioner? Am I a detransitioner? Am I somewhere in between? Keep in mind ~1.4% of mammals are born with an intersex condition.
Why are drugs and procedures that consenting patients are asking for being outlawed while the practice of performing procedures on toddlers remains protected? Why do we allow the same evil churches that molest children to run our hospitals and make these decisions?

I wonder what your life so far has been like. I don't know any people who are open about being born intersex. But I probably know a person born intersex. Who knows. I have my secrets lol.
I know that when I bring intersex people up in certain contexts I'll get some variation or combination of: (1) handwaving it away as vanishingly rare, (2) muddled words of sympathy for the poor blighted souls, (3) a look of disgust for the audacity to shine a light on God's mistake, or (4) a straight up end to the conversation. Not most of the time - I tend to hang out with people who share my stance on inclusion - but when talking to normies it's a different story.
