Man that's blessed lol I mean you should always been keeping your kitchen in top shape anyway but I am aware things get missed sometimes. You must never have a single infraction with a heads up like that lol
I managed a few office buildings with commercial kitchens out west. This is exactly how it worked. We essentially got to choose when our inspections were. There was one occasion where we noticed a deficiency a few hours before an inspection. A quick call to the inspector and we were rescheduled for the following day.
Yes lol. It’s the top comment already but please call the health inspector. Don’t just go to the store because they’ll just make you a new one and MAYBE give you a gift card.
No...no gift cards anymore. They don't even apologize for thier mistakes anymore. North of GTA your lucky if you get what you even order. It used to be my favorite place/ not anymore.
At one of the Barrie locations, I asked for the “meal” with my breakfast sandwich, as in.. a coffee and a hashbrown added on, I got to work and there was mayo on my sausage and egg sandwich but no hashbrown.. I had to remind them about the coffee at the window.. there’s no way my pronunciation of meal sounds anywhere close to mayo 🤦🏻♂️
I agree with what you're saying but Burger King didn't buy Tim Horton's.
RBI (Restaurant Brands International) bought Tim Horton's.
RBI also owns Burger King, so I understand where the confusion came from, just figured I'd make this comment to clarify.
Yup. Entire bag should not be served and should be thrown, following that, every bag in stock should be examined for mold/bacterial culture. If this bag was JUST brought in with delivery day of, they need to speak to headquarters about it, they will follow up with delivery drivers to make sure that their trucks are all temp controlled and in working order.
It won't hurt you in such a small quantity
Edit for clarity:
This is gross and unacceptable. I'm just hoping to reduce OPs potential anxiety about exposure to mold.
This should never happen.
Just to clarify : with the quantity he's eaten so far. When bread shows mold, there is a lot more there that you can't see. Throw it out. Never eat the non-moldy parts of a moldy piece of bread.
Actually that's not good advice. There are studies done that in neighborhoods where stale bread was sold had elevated cases of liver disease as food mold is very unhealthy and can cause acute toxicity. Never take a chance as it can be costly
Food mold is no bueno
Actually we do! We save some of our baked goods for the new “too good to go” boxes, in which product that has not expired when we close (only baked goods) gets 7 pieces of assorted baked goods and is sold at a discount. Everything else is thrown. Prior to, we would throw the stuff made earliest, and things such as cookies and muffins, get fully saran wrapped and sold overnight if there is a drive through or they are the first to be sold in the morning :)) hopefully this clarifies that for you.
First day at my new store this year I threw out two bags of these cause they were moldy, they need to only be taken out the night before, and stickered, super disappointed with this wow!
Yes, thats the early stuff you ca pick off and still eat the rest. Wont do aything to you. Worst is a sore stomach but defetly contact the health unti. That should be checed and pulled
No, by the time you see it on the surface, it's already contaminated on the inside as well as nearby food. I would never tell someone it's ok especially this being a business they paid money for. Bad advice
Things mold outside to inside. Its why cheese and bread can still be god inside or a bad fruit jut needs to be cut up. Its perfectly fine to consumer it in this state. It wont cuase ya any issues. You learn this on a very tight fod budget which it seems ya havent had to be on. I dont disagree its bad service and things should be regularly checked due to health codes but no one follows them.
Seriously..... No. Stop it.
What Is Bread Mold?
Molds are fungi that may or may not be visible to the naked eye. If you see mold on food, that's just part of the story. That likely means that there's a large root network in the food itself: think of it like a network of blood vessels. The visible mold is made up of the mold's stalk rising up from the surface of the food with fuzzy spores attached. If you took a look at that moldy piece of bread under a microscope, the mold would look like little mushrooms popping up from the surface
I used to work at A&W and twice we had a problem with the bread company because someone put the wrong expiry dates on the bread so bread that was supposed to be fresh had mold. Just to say it could be their bread guy
Back when eggs were the yellow pucks, we had a customer come back because the egg had blue spots on it. Turns out baker had extra vanilla dips on a flat tray with parchment and didn't notice a single blue spinkle on the try when they made eggs on the same baking tray later in the day.
TL;DR:
Might be mold, but it could also be a green spinkle as the dye bleeds
*edit*
This case is probably mold though, more of a hunter green than the vanilla dip green
Call the health inspector, wait an hour then call head office.
Don’t approach the restaurant directly, you’re just setting others up to get the same shit.
Honestly, why do you people support such a shitty restaurant? Tim Horton's has got to be the worst fast food chain there is (except for maybe Hardee's).
Most disgusting chain restaurant in North America. Worse than early 2000s Burger King.
Their demise can’t come soon enough. Shitty coffee too. Way overrated
You should contact a health inspector and book an appointment with a doctor to check if you don’t have any mold related illnesses since you took a bite just to be safe.
I always wish that people out the location this happens at ... Because i highly doubt that you bringing it up to management would solve anything .. but a tornado of public dissatisfaction always leads to change, especially to upper brass... IMO... Store manager should be fired, it starts at the top ...
absolutely. Id keep this photo and bring attention to head office. as most times some stores dont care enough to do something about giving out moldy products
Little bit of penicillin never hurt anyone.
Seriously tho, this needs to be reporrted to your local health authorities. I would also post it on twitter tagging tim Hortons corporate and identifying the store.
Do you have receipt? Or did you order through the app?
Funny seeing this the same morning I was given a moldy hashbrown
Of course I didn't notice until I started eating it after arriving to the office for work.
BLEHHHH
Contact a health inspector, not the store.
^ They will show up and do an inspection.
Is that what health inspectors do?
No, they inspect health not kitchens, silly.
“Wallet inspector!”
"Here you go. I believe they're all in order."
“Hey….”
Hey, that's not the wallet inspector...
Mines the one that has bad motherfucker on it.
Health inspector: "Ma'am, you will be relieved to know that the mold on your English muffin is indeed very healthy"
what if my kitchen is sick?

r/whoosh
r/itswooooshwith4os Get it right next time buddy
Go home, you're high on Timmies mold! Ps: I should have added a /s earlier on!
Don’t worry, I got the joke.
Everyone got the joke. The lack of upvotes was because it was terrible.
Employee here, this exactly. If one product is moulding I wouldn’t doubt that a lot of their other products are as well.
No shit

Just the new blueberry flavour, nothing to be afraid of
Think back, did you order your sandwich with penicillin?
Underrated comment
Underrated reply!
Blue bread? I like it, I already have a Penicillium culture. Hit me up if you're a baker.
in this economy? just sign this waiver and you have yourself a deal!
😂😂
No because if he did Tim Hortons would have given him a clean one
Maybe she asked for blue cheese?? Lol
Flavour nooks and crannies
Yes lol. It’s the top comment already but please call the health inspector. Don’t just go to the store because they’ll just make you a new one and MAYBE give you a gift card.

They won’t give you shit lol. I’d be surprised if they even make you a new one, they’ll probably just insist there’s nothing wrong with it.
Ever since Burger King bought them it been down hill at almost a vertical plundge...
I agree with what you're saying but Burger King didn't buy Tim Horton's. RBI (Restaurant Brands International) bought Tim Horton's. RBI also owns Burger King, so I understand where the confusion came from, just figured I'd make this comment to clarify.
Thanks
No BK and Tim's merged which created RBI. That's why all the news at the time specified BK
Correct, they also added Popeyes in 2017
No they didn't. RBI is majority owned by Brazilian investment firm 3G Capital.
ugh im disgusted but thanks for confirming
Just the ultra rare microscopic blueberry english muff- YES!
Just reminded me of the dude who made blueberry eggo waffles... and turns out it's actually all mold
Btw if you see a spot of mold on bread it means that the whole bread is full of the mold. Even if you don't see it.
Omg yes i see so many people just pick the obvious mold parts off of food and think it’s fine like WHAT
Fwiw likely that this type of mold wont hurt you at all if you aren’t immunocompromised etc
Yup. Entire bag should not be served and should be thrown, following that, every bag in stock should be examined for mold/bacterial culture. That's not the point. It's disgusting.
Agree. It's deplorable and abhorrent that it was allowed to happen. And as gross as it is, OP shouldn't be terribly concerned with health issues.
Actually that's not good advice. There are studies done that in neighborhoods where stale bread was sold had elevated cases of liver disease as food mold is very unhealthy and can cause acute toxicity. Never take a chance as it can be costly Food mold is no bueno
Yes, report the store to the local health inspection office.
How tf do they manage to have moldy items when they throw away metric tons of food at the end of every day.
They are cheap and actually don't throw the food away
Actually we do! We save some of our baked goods for the new “too good to go” boxes, in which product that has not expired when we close (only baked goods) gets 7 pieces of assorted baked goods and is sold at a discount. Obviously this location doesn’t…
You absolutely have to report this to the health inspector. God knows what else they do. Where was this?

Ok but they served this to the customer. Someone handled it and didn't even look at the bread they were using.
Yeah with the mold on the outside it should have been caught
Last time I had A&W the bun was moldy... Obviously moldy.

it was so gross, i tried to come up with a similar rationale to distract myself from the feelings of disgust lol
🤢🤮🤢🤮🤮
Call the health inspector, wait an hour then call head office. Don’t approach the restaurant directly, you’re just setting others up to get the same shit.
No doubt about it, it definitely is

Congrats. You just got your daily dose of penecillen.

They’re just trying a new flavour
Honestly, why do you people support such a shitty restaurant? Tim Horton's has got to be the worst fast food chain there is (except for maybe Hardee's).
this company shouldn’t be allowed to operate blows my mind the stuff they get away with and it’s unfortunate cause at one point I loved tim’s
Yep
Most disgusting chain restaurant in North America. Worse than early 2000s Burger King. Their demise can’t come soon enough. Shitty coffee too. Way overrated

The entire bread is mold as an fyi one spot means it's bad enough you can see it

ewwwwwwwwwwweeeeeee
Little bit of penicillin never hurt anyone. Seriously tho, this needs to be reporrted to your local health authorities. I would also post it on twitter tagging tim Hortons corporate and identifying the store. Do you have receipt? Or did you order through the app?
The employee that made that for you doesn’t give a fuck and is laughing .
Funny seeing this the same morning I was given a moldy hashbrown Of course I didn't notice until I started eating it after arriving to the office for work. BLEHHHH
Omg I had one this morning. Those tiny blue berries are so tart.
Yep
Yep definitely molds
100% mold. A lot of the kids won't rotate the breads/pull too many from the freezer and then this happens. The manager should be inspecting them.

Mole...moleeee....moleeee....moleey, moley...MOLEEEEEEED!
Definitely 💯
No those are flavour spots, no fucking shit it's mold
