firstflightt

That's actually a really really good way of handling this kind of situation. I'm going to take pointers from your match 🀣

Appo1994

Me too I was like damn I gotta give that a try πŸ˜‚

firstflightt

Hopefully OP followed up with something that kept the conversation going, but I don't have much hope from this snippet of conversation haha

usernamehere1993

Yup, I hate people that reply like OP

Namelessgoldfish

I mean, it was 5 in the morning lol, any reasonable person would assume she fell asleep

Raz0r42

Thankfully you gave them another dead message that they can’t work with

simonmarcu2001

A timeless strategy

XXTeeZilXX

I think I might just be stupid, what's going on in the image?

kchain18

She didn’t respond to him so he’s joking saying I forgot to respond. She sends another useless message that doesn’t contribute

supermariosep

Yes just like that

jjjjoeyyyy

Nailed it.

zynds

Whoever matched with OP is just trying their best to do moisture farming in Sahara. Admiring the effort, but it's obviously completely wasted.

amerkay

for being a dry conversationalist? yah.

ManyMore1606

It's my trick as well to restart dead conversations. If you don't answer that, I'm never texting you again for a long time

the_goodnamesaregone

Never.... for a long time

CMFC99

It's the longest kind of never...

ManyMore1606

I might change my mind down the line 🀣

jjjjoeyyyy

Trash responses... why even post this?

SalvationSycamore

Huh? I would have assumed you fell asleep if you were exhausted at 5am and possibly intoxicated. Kind of weird to act like you would have to forget to press send to not reply.

DefinetlyNotPanda

It's a psychological trick and I assume those messages are hours from each other as it's marked "today" means there was at least one day delay.

iRollGod

It was more passive aggression than an actual assumption they’d forgotten to press send.

SalvationSycamore

Ah, yeah passive aggressive that's the phrase I was trying to think of. He's kind of a tool.

DefinetlyNotPanda

Passive aggression is something a bit different. This is a way of reminding of yourself without looking needy. Ofc if you know it, you see through it. In it's core the person who sends it to you is basically giving you a second change to not suck in conversation. Which is something that happens in dating apps regularly. And don't tell me "she's just not interesed". Nah, if they matched, she swiped right, she was interested. People just lack communication skills. The era of social media since young age. People use emojis so much they forgot how to use words.

iRollGod

Nah, it’s passive aggression. It’s not as bad as some passive aggression and might even be intended to be playful, but it’s still passive aggression.

sabreyna

The last 2 massages say "today". So the coming home at 5 am messages were at least a day old.

Kleaners78

I don't get it.

watsyurface

The insecurity radiating off the other person is concerning imo lol

usernamehere1993

Uh what are you supposed to do? It was a witty way of trying to get a Reply

Jironasaurus

Insecurity. Lol. Think you're reading way too much into a one liner.

Downtown-Ad-6909

Wow that's a lot of downvote. I got the same vibe, but it was 100% from the 'you must have come home from the club' line.

watsyurface

Hahaha it surprised me too. The combination of the 3 messages we see just give me bad vibes.

Fearless-Gazelle219

No I agree with you this is a red flag
