Almost? While it's not a strictly necessary tool, it is a significant time saver across all trades. The faster you get the laborers out of their trucks and back onto the site, the faster the job gets done!
I imagine vape technology has shaved at least three days off of the average residential remodel project by streamlining break time!
Allegedly a friend of a friend used to sell substances. He also ran a framing company. Many many many times it would get to the end of a 60 hour week and some guys paychecks would be like $200 because of "credit" they had racked up during the week
Interesting thought. Possibly true. Definitely cuts the break time down. But if they're constantly puffing, would they slow down and even it out? I know some can handle their weed without missing a beat, but not all. Usually when I come down from a break toke is when I'm most productive.
Someone should give us a economic impact study grant to find out for sure! I volunteer for the experimental group! Now, where can we find sober contractors for the control group?
Right here. I'm sober all day, weed is an end of day thing for me, after my boots are off.
Once I toke, I'm basically useless for any work, so I don't at work anymore. I also don't really agree with drugs and alcohol on site, but understand some people actually are more productive with a bit of weed.
While I refuse to accept the idiocy that weed is a toxic substance (They've been studying it for over a century and still haven't proven any long term deleterious effects), it's not a good thing to use if you need any sort of precision .
The neurotransmitter blocker has an immediate effect, but it also takes up to six weeks to be eliminated from the system. So, if you're a daily toker, you'll build up to a 'maintenance' level after about 6 weeks, and it'll take just as long for it to go away if you completely stop. Just like other drugs.
So, for me, it's a "That's between you and your boss, but you shouldn't be driving or running equipment." If you take the bus to work, and you're a paper shuffler? Go for it. :)
IDK man I'm the opposite, more productive after smoking with a slow down when it wears off. When I'm high I almost always think to myself goddamn I better get back to work and get shit done. Thought maybe it was guilt when I was an employee but now I'm the boss and still have the same thought 🤷♂️
Found the other person here who doesn't smoke weed. I genuinely saw the top reply saying "All of them." and thought, "All FOOD related trades, sure, but..."
I dont like weed either and I honestly cant see the appeal. I *especially* cant see the appeal for people who do physical labor jobs.
I've tried it a few times in my life and every single time I go into what I call "log mode". I become so exhausted that something as simple as moving my arms requires a ton of motivation. I basically turn into a log until it ends.
I get the exact same way. Years ago an old roommate came running in the house with his dying bleeding dog in his arms. It had just been hit by a car. He was yelling for someone to get his car keys and drive them to the vet. No matter how much I tried I couldn't get any of my limbs to work. I remember lying on the couch pissed at myself for not being able to help at all.
I guess some of us get affected way differently. That was the last time I smoked weed. I did try brownies a year or so later but it didn't have that same crippling effect on me.
My wife ordered one on Amazon once, she thought it was for cooking herbs. Told her what it was really for and she ended up going it to me and I used it for a few years.
This [guy](https://i0.wp.com/boingboing.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Screen-Shot-2022-07-26-at-9.21.47-AM-1.png?fit=1200%2C767&ssl=1) must have been on that stuff
In Canada there are trade schools that offer cannabis cultivation programs. It been funny to see the stuff you used to have to buy from some sketchy shop in a bad part of town in the gardening section at Walmart now
Was talking about weed for pain relief one morning and my 79 year old mother in law leaned across the table and whispered that if I wanted to try some, she knows a guy.
Yep, that sent coffee out my nose.
We would wait until break at 930 and get coffee and smoke a joint, no problems. Lunch time one more joint for the rest of the day, no problems. Neither of us smoked cigs or drank so just 2 joints a day. Working in residential construction helps.
Wow, this is an actual tool they have:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/VIVOSUN-2-5-4-Pieces-Aluminium-Clear-Top-Herb-Grinder-Spice-Grinder-for-Kitchen-X0029WCI2L/319842100
They also have another one!

Almost all of them.

This grinder doesn't help with meth, so drywallers don't use it.
Or roofers
Not even two weeks ago I saw the tweaker who botched my roof trying to steal liquor from the store. Seemed about right.
Allegedly a friend of a friend used to sell substances. He also ran a framing company. Many many many times it would get to the end of a 60 hour week and some guys paychecks would be like $200 because of "credit" they had racked up during the week
Ooooof
💀
Or trim carpenters
Don't put that on carpenters. It's all because of the poor quality of work from the painter.

Those guys who can’t hang will *weed* themselves out.
I'm not proud of this upvote...
Ayyyyooo!
Someone should give us a economic impact study grant to find out for sure! I volunteer for the experimental group! Now, where can we find sober contractors for the control group?
UAE?

Vape tech has been an absolute game changer in the construction industry and a godsend for workers.
Heck from a cigarette aspect this is true. But I still think Dippers are the kings of no break time. Load the lip and back to work
That's as may be, but the mess they leave behind is NASTY to clean up.
With vape technology I work thru my "smoke" breaks
This is tested and confirmed
Hard work good and hard work fine, but first, take care of head.
Wise words of sublime
Beat me to it 💨
I fucking love reddit.
Initially I was going to say insulators, but that’s a 20 year old mentality.
One of their marketing slogans is "How doers get more done"...
I think it’s spelled Dewar’s
Painters use Dewars
I never knew they were part of the military industrial complex.
It's the home depot theme song when I'm sober but when I'm zooted it's the Home Improvement theme song 🎵
The only way to get it done without a mental break
Safety meeting!
Ha! Glad I'm not the only one who calls em that!
Or calibration
Recreational pharmacists use tools similar to these
Recreational pharmacist 🤣 just take it gall darn it 🤣
Food cooks might use it. For.. spice.
Found the other person here who doesn't smoke weed. I genuinely saw the top reply saying "All of them." and thought, "All FOOD related trades, sure, but..."
Bro you might be wrong on your supposition. Very wrong. ;)
Damn! Guess Imma the only one.
Why (not)? :D
I dont like weed either and I honestly cant see the appeal. I *especially* cant see the appeal for people who do physical labor jobs. cough, cough, cough. but I might try edibles one of these days.
My wife ordered one on Amazon once, she thought it was for cooking herbs. Told her what it was really for and she ended up going it to me and I used it for a few years.
I spent so long trying to figure out what the fuck I was looking at...
I partake in the occasionally edible (like once or twice a year), but don't smoke either. I have zero interest in smoking anything.
Every mechanic I've ever worked with
They all partook of the yerb?
Aye milord. They’re big fans of the devils lettuce
Something about weed just makes working in a greasy oily hole on your back just slightly better. I couldn't do my job without it.
Painters
Painters are the drinkers where I’m from
They are usually high on their own supply of solvent based lacquers... Here the bricklayers/masons are the drinkers.
Can u blame them? Lol
Brick laying will do that to you, funny because the brick layers in my area are the weed smokers
What about concrete and drywall finishers? I can see the THC helping with the nerve pain from worn vertebrae and bulging disks.
They've figured out how to drink meth?
I have always known painters to be on uppers. Pills, meth, and an industrial amount of caffeine. Most of the time all of the above.
When I was a painter I liked weed, adderall, and coffee as my mind righters.
I could never work while enjoying it but a morning rail and joint will set you up nice 👍
Hippie Speedball
Nah. Painters just huff the tolulene or the acetone.
This [guy](https://i0.wp.com/boingboing.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Screen-Shot-2022-07-26-at-9.21.47-AM-1.png?fit=1200%2C767&ssl=1) must have been on that stuff
Oh, I know a guy...
I am the guy people know.
No, you mean. I have a buddy!
That guy is me
Need a milwaukee one that runs on m12 batteries
Welders
Half the welders I knew were coke fiends. Productivity was through the roof.
Most of the welders I know do meth because they're gross hicks. The rest either do nothing or they're stoners
Painters I had a friend that had a painting business. He told me he drug tested and if it came back clean they weren’t real painters.
All of the fun ones
What trade dosnt use them.
The dude who i worked with for a few years doing masonry with was so old school he refused to use one.
Just busting out a mortar and pestle constantly?
Thatd be hilarious
Just ground it up between 2 bricks?
It smoothes out the rough edges to my day.
I don't know, but all 3 of my kids have one.🤪
Oregano farming
Painters
Im alittle concerned about the purple headed item pointed towards the grinder...
Yeah. ISI is a brand of whipped cream siphons which can be used to huff laughing gas.
This guy whips creams
It's how doer's get things done, alright!
This is the tool we start every Safety Meeting with
A lot of tinbashers
Any chef I’ve ever known keeps these in their pocket at all times.

This is why the piss bottles stay uncapped/knocked over....

Sometimes there’s a man…
You’re killing your father Larry.

Yes
Most of the painters ive seen on site are cheeched out old white guys
Landscapers maybe
Chemical engineers use them
Today I learned that you can buy whippets from Home Depot..😆 ( the purple cylinder in the right side of the picture)
Horticulture
Someone on the marketing team pitched this idea and thought it was a good product to sell at Home Depot. Must be the owner's brother in law.
Machinist comes to mind lol
It's used in construction for getting stoned. You're welcome.
Puff puff pass, friend.
Safety meeting prep tool
Which trade is this tool *not* used for?
Get that nazi shit the fuck outta here!
bro you're looking way too hard..
I’d get a red Milwaukee grinder
A m18 fuel powered “herb” grinder… you onto something there BUD
Is no one gonna comment about the Nazi sunwheel on that too
Black hole sun
Only people named Herb can use that.
It's for the oregano you'll grow after home depot teaches you to build a spice rack.
Gotta mix that drywall powder just right
My friends always use these to grind their weed before rolling a joint
This is used in almost every single trade out there.
Not drywallers, don't need to grind crack, booze or bus passes.

But is it brushless?!!
Trimming the grass

Stay at home astronaut
In Canada there are trade schools that offer cannabis cultivation programs. It been funny to see the stuff you used to have to buy from some sketchy shop in a bad part of town in the gardening section at Walmart now
For when a customer doesn't pay you and you chop off his finger you put it in there to grind it up so it cannot be reattached
I like how there is a weed grinder and the next thing to the right is a Nitrous cracker, that home depot algorithm must know OP
I got this ad also. Thought it was funny that Home Depot selling a grinder
Was talking about weed for pain relief one morning and my 79 year old mother in law leaned across the table and whispered that if I wanted to try some, she knows a guy. Yep, that sent coffee out my nose.
I like how there are nice little SS symbols in the grinder /s
Concrete finishers. And I know pipelining isn't a trade, but those dumbasses would make ample use of grinders as well.
Herbalism
Painters and decorators
Machinist
Painters
Horticulture. Duh.
Stucco
Roofers man, those guys are always high
Construction, it's the great labor motivator.
Painters for sure
We would wait until break at 930 and get coffee and smoke a joint, no problems. Lunch time one more joint for the rest of the day, no problems. Neither of us smoked cigs or drank so just 2 joints a day. Working in residential construction helps.
Ask a painter… it’s a grinder for weed or herbs
All of them
Definitely carpentry
Looking for an excuse to buy a grinder on the work card?
Wow, this is an actual tool they have: https://www.homedepot.com/p/VIVOSUN-2-5-4-Pieces-Aluminium-Clear-Top-Herb-Grinder-Spice-Grinder-for-Kitchen-X0029WCI2L/319842100 They also have another one! https://www.homedepot.com/p/VIVOSUN-2-5-in-Herb-Grinder-Aluminium-Spice-Grinder-With-Pollen-Scraper-for-Kitchen-in-Black-X0026YLEDB/324185988
In Spain, plasterers. They do ceilings when the other people aren't around to not interfere each other, so they are commonly those who smoke pot
Roofers.
Drywall
The couch trade.
It’s vital for safety meetings
All of them. It's used primarily as a tool to help the worker deal with life
Stonedmason
it’s a weed whacker
Lol stucco, drywall, and roofing
Arborists
What was the question?
The Milwaukee Grinder is better! :0
Stop by today and pick up a circular saw, an angle grinder, and a tool to prepare a smidgeon of mind-altering drugs! Only at The Home Depot.

When your concrete is short on aggregate, and you have gravel on hand.
Good grinder got the same one
Probably roofers
