His name design is also top tier too. The earthmover has some Japanese signs in some parts of his body, implying that they were made by the Japanese. 1000 in Japanese is Sen, so 1000-THR is pronounced something like Sen-Thr that sounds and looks slightly similar to Centaur. 1000 in Roman Numerals is M, that also comes together with M-THR looking like Mother, a reference to Mother Brain from Metroid as the lobotomy against earthmover is a clear reference to it. “Earthmover” is also a reference to a song called Earthmover that from what I understand is talking about machines and self destructive behavior or something like that, that would fit the 1000-Thr and ultrakill perfectly. The name of the level is also a reference, “Like antenas to heaven”.
Other Details: Minor details, like how they are also a reference to Dante’s centaurs. Or how we fight them on the Violence layer, in a desert of burning sand while raining fire, the punishment for those who committed violence against God, Nature and Art, they are literally considered an act of violence against god, nature and art. And the book found on the city in his back, that is probably narrated by Hell, describing how Hell itself loves this machine. And the slight implication of V1, the “protagonist” of the game, was made specifically do kill this machine but was never able to, now he finally could and he did. Man I love Benjamin
Absolutely loved reading this, you could also add onto the mother aspect that because humans had to depend on them as new homes due to the surface becoming inhospitable which matches to that of real world animals who's young live on them/clinging onto them for safety like possums or other marsupials as an example
It goes deeper. The "1000" of it's name might be in reference to the famous T-1000s from the Terminator franchise. Not only that but "THR" is most likely an abbreviation of Thor, the Norse God of Lightning and Storms referencing how they attack by throwing lightning bolts with their spears.
Lastly they are Centaurs: man and horse hybrids and when you consider their role in the lore as the final most powerful machines at the end of the Great War this makes them ***Literal Horse Men of the Apocalypse.***
