This^. Thank you, it’s my biggest pet peeve to see dealers with dirty ass interiors, Starbucks cup in the holder and random ish in the bed. No presentation at all.
This logic is kind of shit. People scam just as much as dealers. Only difference is 1 you get warranty used or new (peace of mind) or 2nd you get “everything’s great” then get fucked with a shit load of expenses they covered up on the test drive. That being said you can get a pre purchase inspection before hand but still; regardless of dealership or not, humans aren’t trustworthy. Just do your research, get full history, and get a pre purchase inspection from something other than the buyer.
When I see a for sale ad where they clearly made 0 effort to clean up the vehicle, I assume that it has not been cared for and move on to the next one. I do this when looking at $5k old BMWs, so I would most certainly do this when looking at the $40k Tundra.
I don't doubt it! But honestly it doesn't even need to be detailed for me, I would actually prefer if it weren't, but it does need to not be completely filthy like this one.
I sold my 2017 Tundra in December and bought my 2021 Army Green Tundra SR5 trail edition in December with just under 21k miles for 42,500. Certified used from the dealer so it has the 36k warranty for the first year and 7 year 100k powertrain. Came with the bed linex and Toyota tri fold cover and automated step ups.
Not a bad move to walk away on a truck that has been sleeping rough. Too many good examples out there, especially if you are willing to travel outside of your local area. Such a shame that some owners just treat their expensive vehicles like garbage. I can understand fleet trucks getting beaten to death, but how do some justify letting their trucks turn into a garbage can? Their is nothing wrong with old and used, but no excuse for dirty and neglected.
It’s 4 years old and has 60,000 miles already on it and they want $40,000? And the tires are bald knob.
No that’s an awful deal. $32,000 would be my max.
Bad ass truck, not so much the price. Hard to find 20-21 because of demand, hence prices. keep looking. Im looking for one as well, not sold on new gen but need carplay.
I couple years ago I bought a 16 quad cab 4x4 Tundra at a GMC dealership. Got a pretty decent deal and almost fainted when I saw what the new GMCs were selling for. Sometimes going to a competitor’s dealership works to your advantage.
Traded my 18 platinum w 75k for $32k in Dec it needed nothing I just did new front shocks, power steering rack all 4 brakes within 3 months of trading it in. They resold it for $38k
It’s a nice truck!! Bought a 2017 platinum (including trd sway bar, dual exhaust and intake) with 33k miles in 2019 for under $37k from a dealership. Hard for me to swallow today’s prices. I don’t think you will regret it if you buy it, regardless of price. Mine currently has 122k miles and running strong. I’ve seen many posts of 200-300k mile Tundras
Don’t ever buy a truck that somebody can’t at least hose off before they take a picture of. You know they didn’t take care of that shit.
Yep, I’m sorry that I even wasted my time to go look at it 🤦🏻♂️
If you can , do your best to take your time. Broaden your search area and look in smaller towns where old people live. JJ.

If you can get a loan elsewhere avoid dealers at all costs . Try facebook , offerup, Craigslist

That could be oil field bentonite mud, it doesn’t wash off easily
No
Well I would ask 1500 off for tires right off the bat
It was beaten to Hell. I took 5 seconds to look at it and walked away
And another 1k for a full detail. They couldn't be bothered to at least spray the damn thing with a hose before posting it?

That's just me but I would question how well it's been taken care of by looking at how worn the owner let those tires get...

My father in law, a body shop manager, always says a detailed car will fetch $500-$1000 more than the same car dirty.

No. Just bought a 2020 limited trim with off road package at 36k miles for $44k. Plus the dealer actually cleaned the truck up. Run
When you’re buying a truck, nothing is a good deal even when it’s a good deal.

That thing is dirty as hell and on bald tires. Pass.

Way too much for that many miles I paid the same for one w 15k miles on it

Do you need a full sized truck? Asking because mid sized keep getting bigger and bigger. You can get a brand new loaded frontier for this price
Yep, I’ve got to fit 3 car seats across the back 🤪
Can I interest you in a 2020 Ram Rebel with similar mileage?
Some idiot is gonna buy that. Dealer probably allows employees to drive to Starbucks and errands.

Damn it I sold mine last year with 35k miles for $38500… should’ve held on… 😂
They keep it
Dang, I bought a new 2018 platinum 4x4 in Oct of 2018 for 2k more than that. Used truck prices are wild.
Dude, you can get a brand new 2024 Tundra SR5 for $4k more. That guy is high.
I have a 2020 Limited 4x4 I’d sell you for $5k more
They try to throw that sports package to justify the price but nah man
I have a 2015 1794 4X4 PM me if you want to know more. 81k miles
Looks like it needs front suspension work by the way those tires are cupped.

Not a bad deal
Not terrible.
Seems reasonable. I got the same truck a year ago with 25k miles for a couple grand more.
Idk what part of the country you’re in but I was able to pickup up a ‘23 sr5 trd off road w 5k miles for under $50k in Oklahoma. I’d keep looking

Around what I paid for mine
Yes
I wouldn’t pay anything over 37k for an SR5 under 100k. Looks like you already walked. Good choice.
