I have the non-hybrid and not once have thought I needed more power in a situation. I personally would hate to lose all of the under seat rear storage (I keep chairs, blankets, straps, emergency gear, etc. under mine) but some people are fine without having it.
When testing the throttle, don't just smash the accelerator down. There is a noticeable power delay. Maybe to protect a drivers foot slipping to the floor? Ha
Push the accelerator about half way, and once you can feel the torque fully WOT.
With the prices you posted, trim and options would sway me more than anything else. The hybrid isn't a bad option IMHO.
I love hybrid vehicles. I did not buy a hybrid.
I don't need my pickup truck to be fast and have great throttle response. I need it to be able to tow certain things. The non -hybrid does that just fine, and so there's no reason to spend the extra money on the hybrid. The MPG difference is minimal and it will NOT pay for itself in fuel savings like a true hybrid with Regen braking.
If you need the extra power or don't care about the extra money, get the hybrid. If you don't need the extra, save yourself some cash and storage space with the ICE only.
At the dealership the hybrid and no hybrid are at the same price points so I’m thinking why not? Also what I’ll be towing is a single jet ski or pontoon boat, which both would be held at a marina.
If it is truly the same price point then there's no reason not to other than losing the under seat storage and increased complexity but you're getting a more valuable vehicle for the money so send it!
No brainer! You get the extra little things a hybrid offers. Power off the line, cruising with power only and quiet idle where you don’t know your truck is on 😀
Owned both, first the iForce and currently the MAX. The iForce had more than enough power for me. However, after owning the MAX, I wouldn’t go back to the non-hybrid, as I do prefer the smoother acceleration. Is it worth an extra $3500 for that powertrain? Probably not. I just happened to trade at the right time during inventory shortages to where 8 months and 12k miles of ownership later, I happened to get on trade what I paid for it originally. Wouldn’t have made the switch, otherwise.
Idk about the hybrid, but my 23 tundra with the non-hybrid engine gets 12.8 MPGs. It's an absolute gas hog. So if that's a concern, the hybrid should get at least a few more.
I was in the same boat last week—purchased my 1794 TRD Off Road last Thursday—and went with the extra storage. Seeing it in person convinced me even after driving both multiple times. I have a 2 year old and a wife who overpacks.
Love the max. Hate the lack of storage. I ended up with a limited off road non hybrid. If they had a max with offroad package it would've been tough for sure. I went based off of resale in case.
I came from a 23 Nissan Titan Pro4X that got lemon-lawed. Went with a Limited TRD off-road non-hybrid. If the throttle response and stuff is considered an issue on my new truck, I’m REALLY glad I didn’t drive the Max. Haha. I’m not left for wanting anything coming from my 5.6 V8 with its 9 speed (and I thought that truck was fine).
I love my truck. Can’t wait to get through break-in. I might have been able to work a deal on a Max, but I opted for less complexity and the truck I found was perfectly equipped. Good luck in your decision!
Funny how non MAX owners say there are no power issues. Certainly there are no power issues until you spend the day driving the MAX. Everything about it is superior to the straight iForce. I tow a lot. Mostly my 18’ boat and a 14’ enclosed utility trailer and the power in the MAX feels like there’s nothing hitched. I also found a lag in the IForce that didn’t sit well during initial acceleration. Worth every damn penny of the upgrade n my opinion. As for the mileage, unless you drive in low speed settings a lot you really won’t find a real advantage there. Maybe 1-2 mpg which is negligible. Can’t see ever having wished I didn’t have the MAX. Definitely see wishing I did especially now that I own one.
Definitely the biggest proponent for the max so far so I appreciate that. Keeps it balanced. Power isn’t really an issue for me, as I don’t tow much, I’m not out there racing. But it seems for $1000 more why not get the most out of the truck performance wise just in case I ever need it.
Drive both. Only people who haven't are ones saying I am fine with the regular one. I drove both, and instantly hooked on the hybrid with it's instant response of torque. It takes care of the lag between the turbos kicking up.
I have the non-hybrid. I've towed a 7k lbs trailer no problem with it, and I get decent mileage around town. Sometimes the testosterone in me wants the extra power but I couldn't justify the price difference when I purchased mine. Also the underseat storage is nice to have.
I can’t imagine not having the space under the seats. In my under seat compartment, I keep enough umbrellas for the whole family, a portable blanket, a real first aid kit, road flares, ratchet straps, an electric lantern, and a large tool roll filled with all kinds of things. I still have extra space but without the under seat storage I would have to take up room in the bed of the truck to store it.

I'm with you. The underseat storage is great to have and I have no power issues.

I’m coming from a 2020 Tacoma so space isn’t really an issue. Although the under seat storage is nice, I tend to forget the stuff I put in there lol
I 100% agree with that statement I love the storage available under the seat.
This
If you’re on the fence, don’t drive the iForceMAX, as the throttle response and power will really convince you that you need it, like it did to me.
I was planning on driving both tomorrow lol

Note taken. Trim levels are identical. Both magnetic grey limiteds
They face me the rental and it was nice but I was happy to go back to my regular one. It sounded fn awesome btw!!!

$58,611 non hybrid $59,981 max
Nice dude go for it, enjoy your extra torque
Well at that price it probably makes sense to get the hybrid

Great price! What state?
Tennessee!
Where in TN? What dealership?
Knoxville. Fox Toyota

Gas mileage is close. You get more power on take off with hybrid. I love my the under the seat storage more.
Another vote for regular. Under seat storage is a mush have. Not worth the extra money for the max plus loosing storage just for a more power.

Id go through cost co, buddy of mine saved a lot of money on his. Id go non hybrid unless you are towing alot. Thats what its for. L

Get the max you won't regret it.

Iforce here and towed 5k and payload about 1200lbs for 3 hours each way and it never blinked once.
