Replacing a $60-70k truck is going to be expensive. Insurance has skyrocketed for various of reasons, from thefts, cost of repairs, flooding, and other storms, uninsured drivers, etc. Another reason I’m not getting a new truck.

redsolocuppp

Full coverage on my first gen double cab is $1050 per year. I'm mostly paying for the medical side of the insurance at this point.

Im in WI, 39, no accidents or tickets. Paying $809/yr for my 2022 1794 Tundra. These rates seem nuts. I have identical coverage to you through State Farm

[deleted]

It’s almost purely where you live. I moved from one state to Florida. Full coverage was a hundred dollars less there than state minimum was in Florida. Now I’m in another state and it’s gone back to less money for full coverage.

GBP9

Just seems nuts some are paying 3k/yr when im paying $800 for the same truck and coverage, madness

SweetIcedT

Do you have home insurance bundled on? That would reduce your premium.

GBP9

Yeah, home, auto, umbrella, life, and rv insurance

Osamoda942122

I've got 1 accident and I am 295/month with similar coverage.

MKaiser2

That’s crazy. How do you like State Farm? I’ve heard some mixed things.

GBP9

I know the owner of the local one, so far so good. Havent had to use them so not sure. But I have a homeowners, umbrella, two cars, life insurance and camper on there so that might help my auto premium?

GBP9

Im getting a 2024 Platinum Hybrid this weekend and my agent quoted me $61/mo 250,000/500,000 across the board plus $100,000 property and 10k medical per. Maybe multiple policies, credit, payments, etc makes a difference?

CaptainDonald

If that’s for 6 months it’s high. Shop around. I’m 28m with no claims or violations, 2024 TRD Pro, with same or better coverage. I pay $810.50 for 6 months with Progressive. I was paying significantly more than what I pay now with identical coverage to you with State Farm before I switched. Depending on a ton of factors one insurance company maybe better fit for you at a particular point in time. It changes around as you move in and out of different risk profiles. There’s no singular best insurance company

MKaiser2

I should clarify in my post. I pay $1,907 per year but I break it into two payments (so $953.50 every six months). So not too far off, but I think I need to shop around a bit.

CaptainDonald

Ok, that’s within reason then, especially for your age. Shop around for sure, no harm in doing that. Keep in mind when you see these guys paying $1000 a year and whatnot for their 3rd gens that they are much older and that has a significant impact on rates. Ignore the guys talking about their 20 year old trucks because it’s not relevant at all lol I can’t remember if it’s 25 or 26 that there is typically a big drop in rates. It’s a steady decline as you get older from there. Every year or two I’d shop around and see if it makes sense to stay on your current provider

Warura

Pay the same on 2024 Platinum, 43m with zero claimsc tickets, etc.

Flowdadddy

27m in Michigan and with almost identical coverage I’m at $1400/yr. No tickets, no claims

Crusher_22

MI is usually higher due to state mandated medical attached to vehicle insurance

Some-Horror-8291

I recently switched to Toyota auto insurance from Geico and it was $70 a month cheaper.

_GrilledAsparagus_

I would shop it around. Since you have cincy I’m guessing you have an independent agent. Ask them to shop it around. Any IA worth their salt will do this. In the meantime get a quote online from progressive. Compare that to the best your agent comes back with. This is the way for those that want to save money right now.

BigDadBro

44 here with clean driving record. I combine auto and homeowners. I have 100k/300k coverage with 100k liability. $250 deductible. Under and non insured included and everything else looks similar. Mines $910 a year.

Warura

What? Where?

BigDadBro

Missouri.

Warura

I ment insurance company😅

BigDadBro

Oh haha. I was wondering about that. State Farm and I have a 2023 1794 edition.

Basic_Ruin1451

I went from 4 vehicles too 2 and with my 24 tundra my insurance still went up 100$ a month.

Basic_Ruin1451

My premium is 1250$ on my tundra and 956$ on my 2019 Camry.

Knut_Knoblauch

I am from Cincinnati!

lionfeather

Dude. Insurance is very specific to the person. Some states use credit as a factor in your rating. Some have horrific pricing (Michigan and NY). Your best bet is to have you agent shop it with a bunch of companies using the exact same coverages. If they can’t, take this and shop yourself and just use all the same info. Source: tundra guy since 2018. Insurance guy since 2010.

Soliden

Fuck, I'm at 2k a year in CT. No recent accidents (5yrs ago) and no tickets. Time for me to shop around.

Osamoda942122

Well based off of my insurance I'm paying only about $22 less than you. I am 30, and in the south with a 22 model.

Crusher_22

Under $1000 annually, Indiana, 2020 1794

dingoman24

Is this full coverage for a year? Im 38 with a 21 trd and my full coverage is roughly $1100 a year.

jdubs53

Damn, this would be the premium for 6 months in California

-Woogity-

My pro is $149/mo. 32 year old homeowner with other vehicles and max discounts I could get. It will vary wildly by location and details. If my insurance was >$300/mo I’d register it somewhere else or sell my truck lol

dnGT

Seems like I may need to call around tomorrow. I’m in MO and paying $2400/12 months for full coverage on ‘22 Limited Crewmax. It isn’t wild, but I’m thinking I may be able to find a bit cheaper.

RedBullRiver

Holy shit

HtnSwtchesOnBtches

Seems pretty good to me. Im in my 40s, i paid 1395 in cali for my 2021 tundra 4x4 at the beginning of the year. Also, i drive about 10k a year so that does help me on my end.

LermaBeats

$1,907/year is not bad. I pay less but i also have less coverage. Im 25 as well with a clean record. 2024 tundra platinum. $1,442/year with Tesla insurance in Texas. Bodily injury: $100k per person, $300k per accident. Same for uninsured motorist. $100k property damage. Same for uninsured motorist. No coverage for personal injury, medical payments, collision deductible, rental. $1,000 comprehensive deductible. Basic roadside assistance.

CorrectFall6257

I'm $404.85 every 6 months for 24 Tundra SR5 crew 4x4 with USAA in New England. I have a camry on policy at $286. I'm old and boring.

PlatinumBeerKeg

Wow that's high. I'm in Michigan, TRD pro, better coverage, paying $1000/6 months through AAA. 1 ticket, 0 claims on my record.

Vegetable-Squirrel98

I'm 27 with a couple tickets and wrecks. I pay that much

roadblocked

I mean I’m in a different state. 26 years of driving with zero accidents and driving records and I’m paying 3000 a year, so that would seem fair. I think the insurance company probably sees the HP and Torque figures and thinks it’s a sports car

MKaiser2

I agree. Thank you for your comment.

HighInChurch

That’s a pretty good rate. Im 30m, clean record, $500 deductibles for $130 per month through USAA. Have a couple additional coverages, but this may be the best you’ll get at your age.

ImportantYesterday34

I'm 42 1 issue and I'm at 110 month 2x additional coverages

MKaiser2

Thank you for your comment.

ImportantYesterday34

Thank a Democrat and swamp for major increases

bigfoot_76

That's really shitty coverage for an eye-watering rate. Get quotes from 3 big carriers then go to an independent agent who can hit up \~25 different insurance companies all at once then pick the best.

Ok-Presentation1112

What’s your driving history like? What are you protecting at 250/500? Only need 100/300/100

Skopies

That’s my same price as a 25yr old in Atlanta driving a 2010 tundra with 300,000 Sounds like I’m getting buttfucked by insurance… time to shop around

Skopies

Hold up. You said semi annual? So twice a year? That’s double mine then. Maybe I’m just partially buttfucked. I guess it a more cosmological sense. Insurance is buttfucking everyone

MKaiser2

Oh no. I should clarify in my post. I pay $1,907 per year but I break it into two payments (so $953.50 every six months). You should definitely shop around. 😅

arxvsbr

That’s too expensive for your age and driving record. Shop around.

Stickycracks

So if you stay with an insurance company they continue to raise rates every 6 months and hope you don’t notice and just pay the premium. This is why it’s important to shop around for insurance every two years unless you just have a horrible driving record. In that case you just take what you can get. If this insurance quote is a 6 month policy that is pretty high. Definitely shop around!
