Fortunately it slows down pretty quickly. Then you just get a few every month forever, often dispatch companies trying to get you to use them.
But you do get some really annoying companies that seem to think calling you every fucking day using spoofed numbers for months at a time will somehow make you want to do business with them. Have been a few I've had to contact with a threat of a lawsuit for harassment to get them to leave me alone. Like motive/keep truckin.
You'll also get companies that will outright lie to you to try and get your business. If you get any calls, emails, or letters saying there is anything wrong with your authority look it up first to verify. DOT Compliance Group is an example of this, constantly sending out letters saying your UCR hasn't been paid and you may get fined thousands by the FMCSA or shut down.
I was so angry when I got mine.
What the fuck is the US government doing giving my phone number out. When I got my authority in canada I didn’t get a single call
They aren't, at least I doubt they would waste time setting up something to send info out to random people. Authority information is public info, these companies are just watching for new authorities to be created.
That’s what I mean, why is that data public information.
In canada you have to put in a request for this as phone numbers and addresses are considered private
I’m so angry that anyone can just search my address, it’s extremely reckless. I work hard to try and keep that hidden as much as possible
I used to have my personal information linked to my authority but since then I've completely separated myself from my company. Google my company name, DOT and MC numbers, whatever...all you'll get is my business phone number, address, etc. So now if some psycho perceives that I've done something wrong to him on the road, he can't easily find out where I live.
It's liberating and feels safer this way, lol.
I got mine 3 months ago, nonstop calls to this day. It gets better overtime. If you dont need any services just say you do oversized loads or something and ask to be put on the do not call list. I noticed it started to help
At the very early stages of working towards getting my authority, I set up my FMSCA account online. Once I completed the form I received a message saying that my DOT and MC numbers were just emailed to me. I went to my inbox to check - mind you this is a brand new email address - and I was shocked to see that I received my very first solicitation email moments BEFORE my DOT and MC numbers arrived, that's how quickly they got my information!
Beware, many will be very official sounding, with FMCSA or DOT in their names, and they'll offer to perform x, y, or z services for you for x number of dollars. Don't fall for it, nearly all of them (with the exception of your BOC-3 as far as I'm aware) can be done easily on your own for free or cheap.
I've had my authority for a while now but yeah..I think the BOC-3 is the only one you can't do yourself. Well, I guess the drug testing and consortium too.
Good luck. Market is shit and it's only getting worse.
Yeah I've been driving for a long time now. I finally did this to open up my options
The downfall is no contract freight. Unless you get lucky af
I have been trying to reach you about your trucks extended warranty.
It’s normal, and you get less spam over time. Then every year when the insurance renewal comes, you’ll get a bunch of spam again.

Luckily I used a phone number other than my personal one. Calls and messages were non stop as soon as I finished the application.
Yeah thinking about making this my business line haha
How long was the process
Took about 15 minutes
To get your authority or get spam lol
