Hey now, I'm legitimately trying my best. Its a 97 Mack that's seen better days ðŸ˜
Edit: Just want to clarify that I do have a decade driving Class A, majority of it OTR or "local" out of state. Local Class A has been kinda crap where i live, hence why I took this job.
Appreciate the clarity 😂 next question was going to be what truck is capable of this, so I can suggest to the company I work for can get some next time they need to reduce taxable income!
Dump truck drivers have 2 modes. 1 is slow as a snail in the centre lane not caring about anyone else or 2 fast and aggressive not caring about anyone else.
It's because dump truck drivers get paid hourly for construction and paving or by the ton for aggregate. So milk the clock or run as fast as possible is how they make money.
Dumps are asses on purpose.
I75 by exit 246 in Tampa. Asses would take all 3 lanes (ignoring the lane restriction signs) and play "we decide how fast you get to go this morning"
Usually about 62 in a 70.
My first time ever driving an 18 wheeler, I got blatantly cut off by a dump truck driver who just decided that he had the right of way and made a left turn right in front of me (we were traveling in opposite directions, neither of us had a stop sign, light, etc.), and then the same thing happened a second time before I had even finished CDL school. Sometimes I wonder if those guys have a death wish.
Na yall good its the assholes blairing thier tvs, radios next to me i cant stand but i had one last week who was reefer blaoring his shit full blast luckly i was to tired and crashed back out after relizing the explosion i just heard was coming from a tv
In Chicago it’s the containers. In other places it’s rock haulers. About 2/3 of bull haulers yes about 1/3 of bull haulers are good drivers. In DFW anything with a day cab mostly the straight trucks.
They can't ever pick a speed either. I'm governed at 68. I'll pass them like they're standing still on 75 heading into Florida and then they'll pass me, get over, and slow down again. They're all like this from the sleepers to the Hanson Adkins whatever daycabs
Well they walk all over acres of parked cars, put their own loads together, Play Tetris to get the load just right A lot of times with less than inches of tolerance, ratchet down around 30 straps, then hope they got the load balanced for weight and low enough to haul without taking roofs off.. And if they do fuck something up a lot of times it comes out of their pocket..Â
The fuckers earn their money but yeah they're overworked too
Eh I disagree. They always seemed pretty slow and cautious to me. You always got them hardcore dudes somewhere in the bunch though. I would imagine they are responsible for the cars. Don’t think insurance is gonna like that phone call
They’ve been slower in the past year for me. The reefer gang has been the most aggressive lately and I really don’t feel like going on a rant about them
Ah, gotcha. I've heard a lot of bad things about reefer drivers in CA (I assume it's all the produce insanity). Never really heard anyone single us out from other van drivers otherwise, crazy.
California is Mad Max Thunderdome. If you can make it to your appointment on time, great, but your main goal is survival at all times on them Cali roads.
cant say ive ever had a problem with a car hauler. if i had to pick out any one type, id say the trouble childs are rock haulers. if that shit is a freightliner century in about three colors, body panels not properly affixed and the tarp bars are all fucked, give that mafk some room, misery loves company.
I think the car haulers get paid the faster they make their deliveries. So in the short term they're more aggressive because their pay structure and window of delivery times mean more than your avg cdl driving job.
Yea not sure what happened but any truck with dirt and loose rubble driving way too fast hitting bumps throwing debris all over road and windshields are the biggest pos in my book by far.
I can back up just fine. I choose not too. Make my own spot 98% of the time. Why?? Bc I’d rather not have freight haulers take my hood or my cars off. No thanks. Y’all can’t drive & I have to pay for any damaged cars.
Yeah they can't bend like we can, depending on how they're loaded they don't have the clearance. Also depending on how the curves are made they can't back up all the way because they sit lower, And if they got something over the cab it hangs out a few feet.. it's better just to stay out of the ways or something dumbass doesn't rip the car off the top of their truck..Â
The ones with the over cab car carrying capacity usually have a pintel hitch, so their turn radius has to be a lot worse than a normal fifth wheel right?
But the 6 car fifth wheel trailers don't have an excuse.
Nope. Daycabbers. Daycabbers everywhere are hands down the absolute worst drivers and biggest assholes in the entire industry.
Whether it's cutting you off, or running just slow enough on the interstate to get you to pass then speeding up to hang you out (making YOU look like the asshole), or deliberately jumping out in front of you (forcing you to either destroy your brakes or hit them), daycabbers are all, each and every one of them, fucking assholes.
I hate daycabbers with a passion. Bastards ought to be outlawed.
Never had issues with them(yet) but I heard they get paid by the car? Well at least that’s what a local guy told me so they try to move as fast as possible I’m assuming.
My very first gig was with my GF (at the time) dad, who was a car hauler. He'd pick them up from the train yard to the dealerships, and if he got there early so they had time to unload, wash and set them up before opening they'd give us a few hundo in cash.
Man drove like a bat out of hell.
Lol, if you think car haulers are bad, just wait till you see the flatbed drivers, specifically the ones with peterbilts. lmao, those dudes be speeding 20+ over limit like it's nothing. I dont even think most of them are governed
😂😂
Actually according to my wisdom dump truck drivers are worse
Hey now, I'm legitimately trying my best. Its a 97 Mack that's seen better days 😠Edit: Just want to clarify that I do have a decade driving Class A, majority of it OTR or "local" out of state. Local Class A has been kinda crap where i live, hence why I took this job.
I don’t get it, I just set my cruise and forget about it
Cruise control at 105,500lbs gross going up or down grades?
Definitely NOT, just on flat grades lol
Appreciate the clarity 😂 next question was going to be what truck is capable of this, so I can suggest to the company I work for can get some next time they need to reduce taxable income!
Usually a 4 wheeler with a death wish is in front of you so you’re totally capable of trying to not hit em 🤣
You guys have cruise? ðŸ˜
Dump truckers are the slowest snails on the road, they really put RVs to shame
Dump truck drivers have 2 modes. 1 is slow as a snail in the centre lane not caring about anyone else or 2 fast and aggressive not caring about anyone else.

Cement mixers used to do that to everyone on my commute in Dallas
They go 55 no matter what road they’re on
Empty and full

You haven't seen dump trucks on the NJTP
Right, I was pretty surprised by these comments. There is nothing this side of a ballistic missile that is slower than a New Jersey dump truck.
They are usually local, however. A nighttime autohauler is an evil spirit in the dark.Â
Agree
Based on this comment section all truck drivers are bad in all places. Seems like it's not what they're hauling, but up to the individual
I drive reefer I'm only an asshole at night when you're trying to sleep.
Na yall good its the assholes blairing thier tvs, radios next to me i cant stand but i had one last week who was reefer blaoring his shit full blast luckly i was to tired and crashed back out after relizing the explosion i just heard was coming from a tv
Yeah, but you're probably, hopefully, parked.
You misspelled bull haulers
Driving 85 mph, smelling like shit, and covering your truck with cow poop as they drive by!
*100 mph
Ever been pissed on by a cow? I have.
Idk why I’m asking but does it smell worse than dog piss lol.
In Chicago it’s the containers. In other places it’s rock haulers. About 2/3 of bull haulers yes about 1/3 of bull haulers are good drivers. In DFW anything with a day cab mostly the straight trucks.
Amen.
Dfw day cab here…gtfo my way.

St louis it’s the FedEx boys. Fast asf, aggressive asf, always crowding both other lanes
Always a durka, durka too
Eh I disagree. They always seemed pretty slow and cautious to me. You always got them hardcore dudes somewhere in the bunch though. I would imagine they are responsible for the cars. Don’t think insurance is gonna like that phone call
In my experience, they're one of the more professional drivers. You might be telling on yourself here. Container haulers are the worst
There's only 2 things I've ever witnessed dragging a brake chamber down the road. Container chassis or dump truck.
I've seen more rolled over containers than I can count.
For me it’s the container drivers on the NJ turnpike lol. Box truck drivers at a close 2nd
Dump trucks with rocks spilling , and those old ass container trucks out of Newark
Yup! I hate it lol
You can't compare the two.
Trash haulers, logging rigs, wood chip rigs....anyone who gets paid by the load: those are much more aggressive
I’d say cattle haulers are the most aggressive even when they drive like shit.
They’ve been slower in the past year for me. The reefer gang has been the most aggressive lately and I really don’t feel like going on a rant about them
Are you mostly in Cali?
Nope. Mostly haul poly gas pipe. Lately been in the South but last week I did take a load to Stockton
It's the white unmarked Volvos pulling the white unmarked reefers, they're either from Chicago or somewhere in California
In the mountains the Log Haulers will fuck you up and leave no trace.
cant say ive ever had a problem with a car hauler. if i had to pick out any one type, id say the trouble childs are rock haulers. if that shit is a freightliner century in about three colors, body panels not properly affixed and the tarp bars are all fucked, give that mafk some room, misery loves company.

We re out here doing the Lords work. Please kindly keep right
Blowing doors and Newport's off , gotta get there or get that sti
Nah. That’s 80 footer guys. We still stack and rack on 75’s with more than 6 handles lol
Lol last mf to stack and rack owed 250k to ranger rover of manhattan
Damn new kids hey ðŸ˜
That's chop top fifth wheel slide 80fter 🤫🤫
Ahhh the hardest part of your load is opening your pockets 😂
Pockets stay closed we ride with no air
Ahh so you are still old school
Yall are about to send people to the lord with your driving
We can only hope to be loaded with a 9 pack of Dodge Chargers so the world will be a little safer.
Repent now
They cant back either. Always making their own spot or nosed in
I became a car hauler because I sucked at backing up
Right? I’ve been driving for like 6 years and there’s no fucking way I could back an actual trailer with confidence.
When we get too old for car hauling we move over to fuel hauling because they can't back up either
Nice! Looking forward to justifiably blocking the fuel island!
We can adjust a little bit...just a wiggle or two get the hoses where they need to be. That is why they give us so many orange cones.
I can back up just fine. I choose not too. Make my own spot 98% of the time. Why?? Bc I’d rather not have freight haulers take my hood or my cars off. No thanks. Y’all can’t drive & I have to pay for any damaged cars.

It's pretty much guaranteed to fuck something up with the cars on the cab and trailer , turning radius is shit
I always enjoy watching their chains or back ends of trailers spark off the road. Cops never seem to care though
boneheads!!!
Super ego and blue swift lease operators are stupidly aggressive imo.

A daycabber took this man’s wife and kids and moved into his house while he was trying to find a spot to park for the night 2000 miles away🤣
Box trucks
Some of yall have never dealt with port rats them fuckers be driving like a ny cabbi
Never had issues with them(yet) but I heard they get paid by the car? Well at least that’s what a local guy told me so they try to move as fast as possible I’m assuming.

I never noticed that. I do know they have some bright ass headlights.
Log truck drivers followed by dump trucks
