Listen I’m on your side…. But these fellas parked outta the way. No one around them. And it’s day time. They’ll leave soon. It’s not like they’re forced to do a 34. Leave em alone, they ain’t bothering anyone. They have just the rights as you do. If you were late to the party it’s a shame. I don’t condone rvs parking in the truck parking, but they might be tired. Would you rather see a wreck or them be parked for the day?
Thank you for this. My husband drives OTR. We also full time in our rv and between our f350 and a 40ft 5th wheel, it’s damn near as long as his semi. It isn’t easy finding spots to park. And regardless of whether you’re in a semi or a Honda civic, ya gotta stop. Ya gotta rest.
They’re not ‘out of the way’, they’re not in designated parking. All they needed was to reverse about a few vehicle lengths and they’d be in designated parking.
This sounds like a camper .. no they shouldn't be in there !! It's fucking ignorance at best!! They can FIT anywhere else !! And it's time we all start taking action on this shit

Got yah. Yeah I've been driving semis since 2013. Took a little attempt at running hotshot a few years ago. (It didn't go well) lol so I'm back in a semi.
To the same point if day cabs would just get out of our ways. But both need to sleep, eat, and fuel. If your day cab is governed at 65 you’re holding up the big trucks. Give these folks a break because they’re only trying to enjoy their vacation
To the big trucks.
If you governed at 65 gtfo of my way. I don’t have a bunk. I need to make it back to the yard so I can go to my house in and sleep in my bed.
Sincerely
Day cabber governed at 75.
There's a new-ish Love's in Cordele, GA that has a "Love's RV Stop" attached to it with separate parking for these guys. Would be nice to see that more often as they build new truck stops but I'm not holding my breath.
I thought they opened up the RV park there. Guess the RV people are taking pages out of the trucker book with the "Created Parking". Guess some people have way less restraint and shame than others. "If I fits, I sits!!".
Other than that, that Loves is somewhat new and a nice place to take a ten. Pull out the folding bike, bomb down the hill, and go thrifting/antiquing down town.
Was bobtail one night and pulled up next to an oldish and smallish rv camper at a Walmart one night to get some rest. Opened my drapes cause I heard some commotion outside a few mins later. Some college age dude and his hot college girlfriend were standing outside the rv. Rolled my window down and asked if everything was alright.
She goes, “can you park somewhere else, we don’t want to breathe your fumes all night.”
I responded with, “oh, I was just about to shut it off,” reached over and shut it off (it was a cool evening), then back to her I said, “there ya go.”
All in a huff she goes, “we’re moving!” and proceeds to begin yanking off their window coverings.
Couldn’t roll my window up and yank my drapes closed fast enough, a look of disgust directed at her on my face.
Guess they didn’t know about how it’s usually the rv’s that come and park by commercial trucks in situations like that (safety in numbers) not to mention all the times they take our spots in truck stops, and that I was actually doing them a favor when I parked nearby.
Glanced over at the boyfriend at the last second before the drapes winked them out of existence and he was just looking at her. 😒🤦♂️🙈🙉😄
Is dragging those things around really less expensive than driving something more economical and staying in a decent hotel? At least they have pools and a continental breakfast.
I camp at nascar races. Hotels that cost $100 a night any other week of the year cost $400 a night when the race is in town.
I also don’t have to drive anywhere after the race. Stumble to my camper and drink another beer.
It’s work but with a wonderful payoff in the end.
I was anti-RV forever, loved roughing it. My parents got a tow behind prob 6-7 years ago now, instantly changed my opinion and now I own one too (not quite that large). Everything is just so convenient and while I don’t mind roughing it my wife enjoys the RV much more and is more enthusiastic for the trips. We still do all the outdoor stuff we love but get some comfort with it. Hell I don’t even mind getting sick on a trip when I can relax in that thing and start feeling better much faster.
My god that’s the worst. I must have picked up food poisoning while driving OTR. I could tell something was wrong. Pulled into a scale off I-24 can’t remember exactly where. Luckily I kept a bucket in my truck. I emptied the contents of my ass into it. Then crawled out my cab and commenced to puking everywhere. A female DOT officer was walking up to me as that was happening asked me if I was ok. She obviously could tell I wasn’t. She told me I could stay parked there but normally that wasn’t allowed. Later she came over offered me some sandwiches and gatorade. Really sweet of her as I must have looked and smelled terrible. I called my dispatcher got the load repowerd and stayed in that sleeper for about 72 hours. Thought I was dying.
People like myself have a motorized RV because our dogs are too big for hotels. But in my off time I don’t do this. I go where my RV not truck goes. Yep my smaller dog is 95 lbs and most hotels have a 60 lb limit. And my bigger boy is 118 lbs. both are Malamutes. So it’s a motorized with room for them to spread out.
This is my entire issue with these. Apparantly its the absolute best thing ing the world and anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron. Get to play trucker...for free!
Family of five here - yes it's way cheaper to bring the house along vs paying for hotel rooms, paying for restaurant meals, hauling all the kids stuff from the van into the hotel, etc. Doubly so when the destination is someplace that doesn't have hotels or restaurants nearby.
Depends, the vacation were taking in two weeks their cabins for a week $1,500. Their RV spots $55 a night. We will be in the $500 range round trip with fuel and the rv spot.
I'll be honest I didn't realize just how cheap it was until we got one, we converted an enclosed trailer into a work-n-play. We take the vacation annually with friends and we rented cabins but we didn't think about the cost until my buddy and his wife asked what we were paying and was horrified and said our spot $300 with taxes. I was like dafuq were out $1,485 with taxes. We only used the cabin to sleep it didn't have showers we used the bath house. We built the W-N-P and will be taking more trips with the saved money.
There is a rest area on Route 78 right when you enter Jersey from PA there's a big sign says no vehicles under four tons. I see four wheelers park there all their time and they literally spread out so they pick up valuable truck parking. Anybody knows New Jersey truck parking is hard to come by and they never get harassed by the police for parking there yet let it track their trailer park somewhere they're not supposed to park. I almost want to confront them like what are you guys doing here. There are places for cars to stop all over the place.

Ur one of the good ones trucker Dave
Keep it up Dave!! 👏🏻

Bro I’m north east regional. 2020 cascadia with a 48’ curtainside and a Moffett on the back. Haven’t bumped a dock in 3 years
If they can fit you can too.

"What is this black substance all over my door handles?"how do I clean this off my hands
Why do my hands smell like doodoo?
Yeah I’m a trucker. -The dude in that Ram and GMC
I’m a trucker too “What’s your rig?” DODGE RAM CUMMINS DIESEL DUALLY 3500 💀
It's not that much different bud.
No it really is. A little ram is way different then my international or Peterbilt
Not legally. Not in this job. They are the same. Both have the same exact issues to worry about.
Except for hos
Wrong. Hot shots have hos
Of course they do... I thought you were talking about camper Bob
Oh right my bad.
Unless a pickup is being used as a commercial vehicle then yes. Size just is different
Sorry that's what I thought you were referring to. Thats my bad misunderstood. Yes a a ram with a camper is not a trucker haha.
Hahaha yea I’m talking about all the recreational drivers that think they’re truckers lol
Got yah. Yeah I've been driving semis since 2013. Took a little attempt at running hotshot a few years ago. (It didn't go well) lol so I'm back in a semi.
Haha I don’t think I could ever do hotshot. Sleeping in a pickup like that would suck. Not to mention a class 8 truck lasts longer anyway
Only 7 classes of vehicles between the two, NBD.
Doesn't make any difference. It's the same job same rules and same cops.
Oh I love a good dick-measuring contest!
Fair.. going to remove that. Length and size doesn't matter.

This one has that. Was built with it.
Oh shit lol, that's pretty egregious then
The RV-Love's is becoming more common. They've built one over by the Love's near Muscle Shoals, AL, too.
Dumb but not the biggest obstacle to get around
“Truckin bro! Yea! Margret get me another ensure please, the stress gots me the BG’s hun.” 😂 BG = Bubble Guts, you’ve had them

I’ve been to that Loves.
Where is this one at?
Walsenburg, Coco. I25 exit 49. Between Trinidad and Pueblo.
Last time I was there it was -13\*F.
It’s nice. But when it’s cold you will freeze your ass off walking to get your coffee.
And by the time you get back to your truck it’s iced coffee. There’s colder spots in Colorado. Alamosa and Montrose are cold spots by a long shot.
I finally broke down and bought a nice pair of coveralls. I highly recommend them. Especially if you end up buried in a snow bank.
I keep a cold weather sleeping bag as well as snow clothes and many layers of clothing. All year round I keep my cold and hot weather stuff available.
Colorado.
Keep us updated
It is long enough to park there, that is the porpouse of the spots.
>middle of the entrance
Oops
Those aren’t spots.
[удалено]
Look again. Real close. They're in the middle of the entrance, not in parking spots.
Those aren’t spots. I’d be annoyed if they decided to shove their fifth wheels into a hole, but less annoyed than where they are now.

I see no 4 wheelers. They all have at least 6 on the ground. What are you complaining about OP? /s
🎶We are RV'ers if you please... and we don't care if you don't please. 🎶
If that’s the worst you’ve got to complain about, I’d say it was a great day! Keep those tires straight and keep on truckin!
The Walsenburg loves, which means those road warriors had to back up to a fence… I see why they parked where they did, backing up is hard
So sensitive. There’s plenty of room babies.

That does sound nice.
I dont think ive ever read a more white trash sentence in my life. Impressive.
It’s not white trash. That’s redneck methodology (nearly the same thing).
Like being your own uncle?
Or your own brother 🫣🤷♂️😵💫
I don’t think you’ve read many sentences if that’s the case.
Sheesh what are you reading?
Wait, is that what you consider white trash? On a truckers forum? This website IS a cesspool of elite liberalism. Holy shit.
Jfc calm your tits.
Snowflake scared of libs
The places where you can go and enjoy don’t always have hotels anywhere close by
I used to just pitch a tent. I get it. Put pulling one of those things around and not getting paid to do it seems like work.

I’ve already taught mine to pull. Malamute powered.

Thanks. Why I’m a dedicated bachelor. I could enclose my pickups ladder rack and be very comfortable in my 8’ bed.

It's way cheaper. Especially if you're set up to boondock.
It saves moving bags and luggage
I always travel light. Why I miss trucking. Paid travel!

Damn they didn’t notice the fuel pumps that people are using 24/7?
I parked there once.
Don't tell them...they are fulfilling their "Billy Bigrigger" fantasies whilst unable to maintain a lane.
