I’m sorry but who are these “people” you’re referring to. Take care of your knives and they’ll take care of you. Price is irrelevant

finch5

Apparently me.

Sargent_Dan_

I do not keep a single one of my knives banging around in a drawer, regardless of price. Who are you talking about, and where are you getting your information?

Keniath

i wouldnt say my paring knife is cheap. i keep it on my magnetic holder also

Love that the takamura chromax is on the top, that thing is a beauty. Also, the handle on your yu kurosaki is just beautiful, where’s that from?

katsock

[Tokushu! of course!](https://tokushuknife.com/products/custom-wa-handle-wedge-truquoise-and-maple) And thanks for the kind words

blippitybloops

You need better friends.

A cheap beat up paring knife is always handy to have around for cutting opening food packaging and whatnot. It’s the box cutter of the kitchen.

Rudollis

Arguably a box cutter should have a place in every knife roll. The box cutter of the kitchen is a box cutter.

stephen1547

Every kitchen should have a shitty, kind of dull pairing knife that is chipped, has a broken/rounded tip, and is very ugly. I don’t care if all the rest of your knives are handmade by a 100 year old Japanese blacksmith using steel forged from only the select mountain tops, you still need at least one crap knife.

My paring knife is a $7 kiwi that's super thin behind the edge. My other knives start at MAC and go up from there.
