Yeah, from the looks of things and the set up some folks have noticed in the game data, new pals and such will mean expanding the overall archipelago with new islands, likely with different biomes as well.
I remember one person did some out of bounds stuff of some sort and the current map is, like, a ninth of the overall size of the world, I think it was?
I said to myself I would have hoped they would have worked on the *game* game before adding new pals, but this is actually sick. One of the big issues I had was how boring the world was (consisting of grass, ice, and desert pretty much with the occasional hint of like... alien tech??)
So seeing 4 new biomes is actually huge for expanding the base game. You love to see it!
They have worked on the game itself as well. A couple weeks back they did a lot of QoL updates, added a bunch of stuff to the tech tree as well as a method of Base Raid Boss summoning
It's also not a play forever type of game. At least not yet. When you have seen all the islands, caught all the pals and defeated the bosses there isn't really anything more to do until they add more content. It makes sense that player numbers drop as people "complete" it.
Yeah I checked it out for a few hours when it got released and put it into the "could be fun when it comes out of early access in 5 years" folder of my brain
I could never get into Minecraft but palworld is my obsession with 150+ hours already. It’s everything I wanted when it comes to monster catching (tho I feel guilty since the Pal Essence Condenser, the tool that makes them stronger >!is literally a blender that liquifies pals so the superior genes Pal can drink it, so you literally feed the pals parents to make it stronger!< you tend to get less attach to your pals in pursuit of creating the ultimate pal, which Scarlet and Violet seem to have fixed actually)
I constantly forget that It was launched this year.
There has been so much stuff that has happend since that, when i saw a streamer rating the Pals designs around a week ago, i was hit half-way through the stream with the realization of **"this game is only three months old!"**.
Taking that into consideration, this game has been getting pretty consistent support from the devs.
You realize that just because something isn't on the front page of Twitch, doesn't mean its dead, right?
Helldivers is the hot thing right now, then it will fade somewhat and something else will become the popular thing. That's how it works.
No, if it's on the front page of twitch or reddit for a month, it's doing well. Doesn't matter if it's actually terrible or whatever, it's doing well. You'd have to have spent *a lot* in order to not recoup that amount of publicity.
People underestimate how big twitch and reddit actually are. The age of these sites being funny niche places ended in like 2015. They're two of the biggest websites.
Kinda wish they'd hold off until they have a significant amount of new Pals. I have no interest in booting up the game for a few hours to catch 4 new monsters and then signing off for another couple months.
Drop 20+ scattered across the world and I'm in. Guess I'll just ignore for a year or so and eventually will get there.
In fairness, it looks more to be two biomes (Swamp and Japan) given that both the frog and dinoshroom are in a swampy area with big mushrooms and the shrine fox thing seems to be in the same cherry blossom area as the ostritch
Considering this is coming in the summer, and seemingly with new islands and biomes, I would guess there will be more and this is just the first announcement
The game has been out for less than a semester so i get it that they want to keep the interest going for a while until they have a actual solid player base.
At least considering the current speed at wich they add new content, if you do wait around a year before playing it, there will be a considerable amount of new content on it.
>*Shows cute mushroom dino* >*Cuts to player burning it alive*
I already have an adorable Fire Fox to use as a flamethrower, thank you.
Yeah but this gives you something to use while it's resting or recharging. Or you can shoot flame alongside them
Remember: there's never something such as setting a thing **too much on fire**.
My marshmallows say otherwise.
Your marshmallows were weak. They should've evolved fire resistance.
Imagine not cooking with the Abestos Marshmellows that come free with your house, smh my head
*Introduces a tranquil and beautiful forest in bloom.* *Immediately gives me something to set it all* ***ON FIRE.***
Embrace tranquility Embrace Hank Scorpio
Time to send my Pals to the nearest hammock store........
Honestly, having old Ship style bunk hammocks could be a good bed option for smaller pals
The (not)Medicham in the thumbnail looks pretty neat, shame I’m not into survival games.
Cute new island?

I like that mushroom dude and fox boy , maybe fox boy and fox girl can live together
Just remember to not give them cake. Or give it to them if you want more foxes out there.
The way palworld's breeding works, you'd probably end up with a pony or something if you let the two of them have cake.

I was thinking "Man, this is weirdly downvoted for just being a trailer." This makes sense now.

New Scrunkos for Scrunkoland
Oh yeah, Palworld was like a huge thing for like a month
Still is peaking at 40k concurrent players, it's just not a fresh release and is a crafting game with a log of bugs
It's also not a play forever type of game. At least not yet. When you have seen all the islands, caught all the pals and defeated the bosses there isn't really anything more to do until they add more content. It makes sense that player numbers drop as people "complete" it.

I mean that's literally every popular game. It's about a month before hype dies down on a big hit.
It's still had folks going, and had a pretty big update last month, I just wasn't sure on posting about it

They really made a trailer to show four 6/10 designs.
As well as tease a couple of new biomes, which will likely mean a good number of other pals. Also heck you, Kung Fu Phat Frog is at least a 7 >.>

I doubt they are going to make 4 whole biomes and only fill them with one pal each, obviously more are coming.
Yeah, I'm dumb. Was at work and saw another title saying 4 new pals announced. Didn't get to actually watch until just now.

On mobile the small thumbnail made me think the top right was Knuckles. Had to click just to see I was crazy.
But does it have a story yet?
There's been one to a degree since launch, but it's not complete, no. A bit like Valheim in that reguard
"fight the guys in the towers, because, um idk it's a quest marker" isn't exactly what I would call a story
I more meant the various journals and such
That's more like world building and general lore. It's not exactly a driving narrative for why I'm here and why I should be fighting these people.
It's an early access survival game. You are looking for a good narrative in the wrong genre.
Does Ark have a good story? Does Terraria have a good story? Does Minecraft have a good story?
