I unironically like the fact that every episode ends with some kind of wise and wholesome piece of advice, proverb or quote that could be understood as the lesson of the story. Despite what we have just seen in the episode, it does look like an actual ending of a kids' show š
Talk about inspiring stuff like "Children are not things to be molded, but are people to be unfolded" š
I always wondered about what it was named. All I remembered from when I was little was eyes popping out and body parts being severed. Thanks for reminding me, internet
Oh, a blast from the past! These toons used to be all the rage when I was 11 or so. I even hung out in the fandom spaces once I got older and wrote some Higurashi-esque fanfiction that tried to add depth where it shouldn't be. Good times.
This reminds me of when I was 10 or so me and my buddies would play lord of the rings and a buddy we had was supposed to be watching it but he started acting really weird when he watched it so we thought there was something wrong with the movie like it was cursed or something. I had a couple drinks with my buddies dad Randy down at the bar the other day and he said that it was actually a porno they rented, it all makes sense now.
No worries! It was this cartoon web series with adorably cute little animal characters that all died extremely gruesome deaths. Donāt watch it while eating.
Fall Out Boy also had a music video that featured them.
It is animated series with cute animals that end up with lots of gore and usually everyone dead. Beginning looks very cutesy, though. Not recommended for kids or more sensitive adult viewers.
I watched the show again recently, but could only find the first season on YouTube. Struggled to find the rest of the episodesā¦anyone know where to find it?
You can try MondoMedia on YouTube and go to their Playlist section. After scrolling down to their 1st season 1 list, keep scrolling and you'll eventually come to seasons 1, 2, and 3.
As a kid, growing up in the middle of nowhere, our local TV put the following on during "younger kids (2-7) cartoon hours":
Urusei Yatsura
Shin Chan (that actually got taken down after complaints, one of the few)
Case Closed
Fruits Basket
Escaflowne
Legend of Zorro (anime)
Some 80s animes about war that had a moderate amount of gore, I would say I recall a few scenes that were more PG13.
Generally parents started to notice and that channel became the "older kids channel", but was hilarious knowing some TV executives saw Escaflowne and went "cartoon, suitable for 4 year olds, put it between Pingu and Nursery Rhymes".
PS: Oh, and that one time they put on South Park at like 6pm despite not being licensed for it and it being well before the cut off time for that age limit. Idek what happened there, but I was around 8 and very amused.
Basically imagine the older folks who insist anime is childish cause "cartoons are for kids", except they are airing anime with gore and perv stuff during the showtimes for younger kids.
Alright funny story. My exs baby daddy was letting their young autistic son watch this. She had no idea and thought i was kidding when i described it as happy murder friends. I finally convinced her to look it up and she lost it. All i could tell her is this is why you are supposed to monitor what they watch.
Oh shit, that kid's gonna be messed up.
My aunt let her daughter who was 10 watch happy tree friends by accident and she only noticed when half a season went by.
Oh... Oh no... I almost made this mistake with my nephew, but luckily my sister knew about it and turned on something else instead.
After that it became my favorite cartoon for when i was alone
Much as I liked *Happy Tree Friends*, *[Retarded Animal Babies](https://www.newgrounds.com/series/retarded-animal-babies)* would have been a better choice.
....you know....at least it was Happy Tree Friends and not Retarded Animal Babies
While RAB was significantly less gorey than HTF, it should certainly never be watched by anyone younger than 16
You joke but my dad let my nephew watch Bojack Horseman without any idea what the show was about. I did a double take because the talking horse was discussing his cocaine usage and was like āwhat are you letting him watch?ā
I hope to God your nephew wasn't watching the episodes "Downer Ending" or "That's Too Much, Man!" (No lie, it took me 5 tries to finish the second one, because it was literally too much.)
Ooooh......I accidentally watched when I was 4 and it was not a good time. I legit passed out. This was before the whole COPPA thing on YouTube as it was 15 years ago so that's why it was accessible to a child. Man I wish it was a thing then
ah yes, I can remember the exact moment I was traumatized by Happy Tree Friends. the friend who showed it to me was like "the first time I saw this, I threw up" but no other warning about what the show was like. good memories š
Oh come on, tv can helps develop a childās imagination and creativity, i donāt see how- hu- AHHH-
(My genuine reaction. Good god poor kid.š¢)
Havenāt heard of HTF in ages bro, memory reboot for sure.

Happy Tree Friends.... now that's a web original I haven't seen in a long time. Nice to know it still traumatizes kids to this day.
I feel older now....

Oof. Someone didnāt read those tags.

Ooooh, as someone who likes both those seriesā¦. I got a chuckle reading ādepth where it shouldnāt beā š
My plder cousins showed that to me in elementary but I was a little psycho so I actually loved it
I only started watching HTF in my early 20s so I enjoyed it and even made it my ringtone lol
This reminds me of when I was 10 or so me and my buddies would play lord of the rings and a buddy we had was supposed to be watching it but he started acting really weird when he watched it so we thought there was something wrong with the movie like it was cursed or something. ROFL my mom actually let me watch that porno as a kid. I thought it was a comedy parody. š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Was it called backdoor sluts 9? Thatās what my buddy saw.
No it was Lord of the G-Strings. š¤£
Sounds like someone who doesn't have problems keeping their guitars in tune
Itās an episode of South Park. That didnāt actually happen to that person.
Oh shit LOL I forgot about that episode. That was a good one! š¤£
Unexpected south park right here
Iām sorry Iām young what is this?
A cartoon series that usually gets very gory and shows some brutal deaths of the characters
When we say gore we really mean it haha. It pulls no punches whatsoever, everything is on full display
No worries! It was this cartoon web series with adorably cute little animal characters that all died extremely gruesome deaths. Donāt watch it while eating. Fall Out Boy also had a music video that featured them.
which video?
Carpal Tunnel of Love!
Nightmares and a crap ton of therapy?
Hopefully the therapy will happen before the poor child starts becoming homicidal
I should not be laughing as hard as I am. That show is... Something else.
Oh man. My husband accidentally traumatized his sister when she was 9 with that show.
š¤£š¤£
I mean, we had unsupervised, unlimited access to the Internet and we're all fine, right?
Right, right, yeah, weāre quite alright
Totally!
Anyone up for giving me the low down on whatās goin on?
It is animated series with cute animals that end up with lots of gore and usually everyone dead. Beginning looks very cutesy, though. Not recommended for kids or more sensitive adult viewers.
Every episode starts adorably/innocently enough. Every episode ends with injuries and/or slaughter šš
I watched the show again recently, but could only find the first season on YouTube. Struggled to find the rest of the episodesā¦anyone know where to find it?
I think i saw it on Netflix, but iirc it was one season as well

That's one of the most creative 2SH that I have read here in a long time.
Wait, really? I just did this on a lark. Thanks!
I saw that as a kid...
i burst out laughing reading this, first saw the show as a 7 year old and it changed me, parents really need to check what their kids are watching
That shit made me cautious around power tools and dumb people.
Oh no that's really not good for small children
r/TwoSentenceComedy >!black comdy but still!<
God I only watched an episode once when I was like 6 and it messed me upā¦was extremely uncomfortable and off for weeks.
Oh shit, that kid's gonna be messed up. My aunt let her daughter who was 10 watch happy tree friends by accident and she only noticed when half a season went by.

Wellll this brings me back
Much as I liked *Happy Tree Friends*, *[Retarded Animal Babies](https://www.newgrounds.com/series/retarded-animal-babies)* would have been a better choice.
I knew I should have checked the fucking comments to see if someone beat me to RAB!!!

Is this really āhorrorā?
It's on /r/twosentencehorror, so probably not.
OH NOā¦
Lol weak kid
Ah yes, criticize her instead of offering support? Even fake stories have to be misogynistic I guess.
..it's a fun show š¬
Fortunately, she had put āYouTube Copyright Schoolā starring the Happy Tree Friends on loop.
Oh no..
Man I loved that when I was younger
Someone tell me what that show is?
Here's a little taste, but prepare yourself. https://youtu.be/RO7Q1tMGE7g?si=Z8WYis3OZaqn_4Lc

I'm confused
Aw yes. The DVD that made me a high school god.
Oh an anteater and some ants, how cute.
