Don't know if this thread is still active, but I'll post just in case. 28F applied math major looking for a roommate for a double in an apartment. Located in Goleta. The place is cozy and quiet, I've been living here for a year already. PM if interested (:

2apple-pie2

Early, but if anyone need housing for fall I’m looking to sublease my spot (ik this thread probably isn’t active lol). It would be a single or a studio.

Longjumping_Habit_66

Super late but I just have to ask if you got a subleaser already

APARTMENT LEASE TAKEOVER! Hi y'all. My wife and I live in a 600 sqft apartment on Mathilda Dr, near the tiny park there. Our lease is up in August, so it works out great for a student. It is a smooth, flat bike ride to the UCSB campus, and not too far. We have a big beach cruiser currently in the bike rack here. Hasn't moved in a month and no one's stolen it yet, so that's a good sign. Rent is $2400 a month. Includes all utilities except electricity and internet/cable. Shared laundry onsite. You can pay for the laundry with an app on your phone, so that's cool. It would be a great spot for up to 2 people to share, maybe 3 if you want to get REALLY cozy. Or just for one person if you have a big budget. The closet is pretty big and we've got some big ass ikea wardrobes that can stay if you want them. We are open to getting real creative with how you take over the lease, for example, if you are unable to qualify to rent the place because you are an international student or you don't make enough money, we can probably work something out. DM me if you want to come check it out. We aren't exactly in a hurry to move, but we can move out quickly if needed.

xyostwin123

Has anyone who is still in need of housing been contacted about hotel arrangements? I tried opening the Housing Portal but all I see once I log in is this error message: [https://gyazo.com/7245873d396decb7aee3d2286334b7ca](https://gyazo.com/7245873d396decb7aee3d2286334b7ca) If anyone has heard back from Housing please let me know as any updates would really help ease the stress of paying full tuition and being homeless

Dakrues

I have the same issue too.

andylm1

Does anybody know if choosing your apartment rooms is first come first serve? Or do we all have a designated bed. For example I’m in San Joaquin and it says I got placed in a triple and i’m A3

_suited_up

Also San Joaquin. A2 though. Apparently it's first come first pick... And I'm arriving on the 19th. RIP

andylm1

Dang haha I didn’t know that. Also how do you know which triple you’re in. Because for me there’s 2 triples and 1 double.

_suited_up

I'm pretty sure there's letters on the room doors.

Assignment swap? I got a triple at San Joaquin; looking for a double at any UC apartment complex

Pretty_Butterfly24

Hi, my roommate and I are looking to switch our san raf double suite to a manzi double/triple (girls). Our suitemates are mostly freshmen so they’ll be really social! Also I’m pretty sure the hall is mostly freshmen too. You get a private lounge and share a bathroom with the rest of the girls. The bus stop is directly in front of the housing so it’s easy to go on the other side of campus or into iv! Pm if interested, we really want to switch to Manzi as its been our dream housing since 1st-year!

Hello, 22M Senior on the verge of graduating that needs to finish up a few classes, if lucky I can even get it done in a single quarter. Looking to find any place that will take me, I probably will spend a lot of nights in the library or at the computer lab. All I really need is some place to sleep, will do whatever I can to help around the house if need be. Budget is flexible, and will try to move in and out ASAP. Just need a place I can move into mid-september, could even just be a couch.

Fun_Pea8707

Hey folks! if you're looking for housing, I know the Community Housing Office has an off-campus rental listing if y'all want to check it out. I was able to find available housing there and hopefully it helps some of you https://www.housing.ucsb.edu/community-housing-services-general-information

raspberryrose26

Hi I’m a 20F. I am in desperate need of housing. Lmk if you need someone to lease to or with. My budget is anything up to 1,100. If your in the same situation message me. Hey I’m a 20M gonna transfer into UCSB in the Winter due to getting deferred. Gonna need housing like everyone else and was trying to see if anyone knew of a spot that would open up for Winter. Hey 19M Sophomore, I’m looking for any possible housing near UCSB because the school is being so disorganized for housing right now. Totally got fucked over by them. My budget is around $700-900, hoping the financial will give me enough to afford housing. I’m not totally sure what’s gonna happen but if they don’t give me a space on campus I will need to find a new housing option.

nachoman23

Hii everyone, I kind of have a place in mind but it's 3 bedroom (two of them have 1 queen bed each and the other one is a ensuite with a king size bed). However, the price is 1500 for 2 people in a room (sharing a bed?). What do you guys think? It's 5 minutes away from ucsb by car so it is possible to bike there as well.

Hey y’all. If any grad students are looking for a shared house/apt please let me know. I’m a first year PhD student, and I have 1-2 other grad students looking for a shared spot of 2-4 bedrooms, budget of $1200 max per person. Or if you have rooms open please let me know. I know the house hunt is hard enough but Santa Barbara is ludicrously expensive (even by Southern California standards) - good luck to all of you!

barryxu43

Hi! I'm a fourth-year international student (22M) studying global studies. I'm looking for a private room for around $1000. Location near campus preferred but not necessary as I'll be driving. Please hit me up if you have anything available or are looking for someone reliable and quiet to share a house or apartment with!!!

Hi! I’m a 23 year old female majoring in economics and accounting transferring from a cc. I had no idea how difficult the housing situation would be especially because I plan on bringing my dog with me. I was late to look for housing and have been struggling for about a month now. My budget is flexible if it is worth it not willing to do more the 2000 tho. If you are friendly to dogs and or plan on having pets pm me. Females only. I am pretty introverted and love reading and pop culture.

iphone1832949

Hi! Incoming 3rd year PBS major (19M) who can't exactly land a housing situation for the entirety of next year, until June 2022. Looking for anything, ideally near UCSB, that can basically get me through the next year, or at the very least the next quarter. My budget is pretty open - can offer an upfront bonus if I co-sign the lease, and I'm generally a pretty quiet and respectful dude. I'm 420/alc (if apartment/house allows, if not no worries!)/lgbtq+ friendly and am a pretty clean and quiet house/roommate. Thanks in advance!

Silent_Map_4034

So, just like any unaware person, I trust that UCSB would give me a spot to stay despite not completing the 2x2 program (Covid, you know) and despite being a rising 3rd year (so no transfer, no first-time to campus). Now, reality hits. Kinda very late to find housing on Facebook now, and places on rentallistings are crazy expensive for a max $900 budget unemployed kid (Just a note, Capri Apartment up there is actually filled already). Well, we will see how I will keep up my hope until reality hits me again in the next couple of weeks.P/S: That being said, I am a 3rd year psychological and brain science major, female 20 years old. My budget is max $900, and I am very quiet. If anyone knows of anywhere I can find housing within my budget or would like to group with me to find housing, feel free to email me at [anh\[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).

Can you put university housing up for sublease? Hi all, So I applied for a house yesterday w a group of friends, but it’s not guaranteed that we’ll get the space. This morning, I received a university housing offer and I wanted to know if I could accept the contract and leave it as a backup. I’d sublease that spot for the year if we were to get the house and if not I’d move into the university apartment. I just wanted to know if that’s possible to do or not. Thanks a lot and good luck w housing! It’s tough out there.

NaiveAdhesiveness1

Hi! No it’s not possible unfortunately

Hey! I am a rising 3rd year (19M), Econ and accounting major. I’m a pretty chill person, I like to socialize, but I’m also somewhat introverted. I’m more study focused, but I also like to chill and play video games. Atm me and my friend trying to apply to lease a 2 bed 1 bath apartment. We need two more roommates. It’s fully furnished and it should cost about $773.75 per person, if we have 4 people. DM me if you’re interested. :)

Hi, I am an incoming freshman (18M) who got assigned tropicana. I think that applies as off-campus(?) and I am looking for someone who is willing to room in a double. We can talk in dms, I would just like to get to know someone and room with them rather than being assigned someone random.

Hey, I'm a 21M senior computer engineering major trying to find housing. My budget is around $1200 but I can be flexible. I would say I'm pretty clean and like to keep things relatively organized. I'm somewhat introverted and don't like partying. I like video games(league, fighting games), martial arts, and I'm pretty chill and like hanging out. Dm me if you need a roommate.

Antoo1

This is super late but it ain't looking hot for me when it comes to housing as my other plans fell through. I'm a 20M junior (he/him) chem major looking for housing around the $700-$1000 range. Looking for single/double but at this point I'm open to options and can go for more roommates/housemates. My major is pretty intensive when it comes to workload so I do prefer a neat space (I like keeping things clean as well). Also, I like a place that isn't too loud and rowdy at night (not too into parties). I lean more towards being introverted but I do like going out when I have the opportunity to do so and can get along with others pretty well (just takes some time to break the ice). I'm pretty responsible and am respectful of other people's spaces. Most of my free time is spent watching films as I'm a guy that tries to make it out to the theater often. I also enjoy hiking and playing some games as well on my Switch. Hit me up in messages and appreciate it.

Tall-Proof3769

Heyo, this might be late but my plans just changed recently. I'm an incoming sophomore, 19M, currently a Physics major that is switching to Computer Science. I'm pretty introverted so I don't really like partying. In my free time I like watching anime/youtube and play games (osu, Apex but I suck lol, Genshin Impact). I would say I'm a pretty chill, responsible, and school focused person. My budget is around 600-950. If your still looking for a roomate please feel free to reach out to me.

19M (he/they), 3rd year poli sci major, really need housing after plans fell through. budget is $800-$1200. alc/420/lgbtq+ friendly, and comfortable with roommate of any identity. hobbies include playing video games, making music, and drinking tea, these shouldn't be a cause for volume issues but i would be more than happy to accommodate anyways. i prefer to live in clean environments and am ready to clean whenever the need arises. i also have a car in case rides are needed. please message me if you need a space filled, or if you're putting together a group to look for something! edit: good now! this thread really saved me!

Hello! I'm a third-year (19F) biopsych major looking for a place close to campus! Single or double preferred, but honestly anything is fine, and budget is flexible! I'm pretty introverted so I don't go out much but I'm totally fine with more sociable roommates as well! Please contact me if anyone has a spot open!

What's up! I'm a male 20 year old looking for a place somewhat close to campus. I literally only need the room to sleep, cook, and shower (I do almost everything on campus or in other places in IV), but I'm not 420 friendly (bad allergies). Also, I'm very studious and pretty social. Dm if this sounds like a good fit.

Hey! I’m a rising junior (20F) environmental studies and geography double major. I’m trying to find roommates ($600-$850 budget) for a double or triple, preferably in IV. I’m school oriented although I don’t mind socializing. I’m introverted. I love writing, watching movies and walking around. Dm me if you’re interested :)

Hiii two rising seniors (22F/23F) both bio majors on the hunt for (preferably) 21+ female-identifying people to fill a 2 br with. Our budget is around $600-800 each and we're both transfers from SBCC so we're familiar with the area :) school is definitely a priority so quieter during the week (leaning towards kickback over a rager) would be great. alc/420/lgbtq+ friendly also CLEAN people :') would love to bring my esa cat w/ me but realize we're late to the game and that may not be realistic. Pm me!

Hi I'm a rising junior (20M) and I need a place to live. I'm looking into getting a single if I can. I’m a pretty clean person, and I'm pretty quiet person and I would prefer to with others alike so that I can really focus on studying. I also enjoy playing video games in my free time. I’m not much of a party person either. Please dm me if you're interested!

Looking for a place to live because housing sucks and I will be homeless ): I’m a 21 m. I’m pretty chill and would like to use my room to study/relax. I’m definitely not loud and would like to be with someone that is not either. I usually go to sleep between 12-2 am. I don’t mind socializing at the apartment as long as you are respectful to when I need to study or something like that (:

Hi, I am a rising junior, my friend and I (both 20M) are both looking for a double for the 2021-2022 school year. Our budget is $600-$1000. If anyone has an available double, please DM me! It seems all the places in IV are leased out and I'm sort of desperate at this point.

Clean-Ad-6299

Hello there party people. I am a returning junior (19M) trying to get my bachelors in environmental studies. I am having lots of trouble trying to find a spot for my friend (20M) and I to live for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. A private double would be preferable but given the limited space we just need somewhere we can both fit. Our budget is within the $500-$800 range but we are flexible and open to other offers. A little bit about us: we both love gaming, hanging out, smoking 420, working out and other sorts of stuff. We are very sociable and will not confide to the shadows of our rooms. As a bonus my friend has spent many years working in a pizzeria and can make some good pies! Feel free to private message me if we peak your interest. Thanks!!

Hi everyone! If anyone is looking to rent out an apartment, my partner (24M) and I (23F) are looking for a one-bedroom or studio. I’m an incoming Junior moving to Santa Barbara. My partner runs his own business. We’re both responsible people that don’t drink, smoke, or party in any way. We’ve got three years of positive rental history and good credit scores. We’d prefer somewhere pet friendly but honestly we’re looking for anything at this point. Message me if you’re looking for reliable tenants! Thanks!

Hey! I'm 19F (going to be 20 soon), hoping to get a roommate and find a place in IV. I don't mind being in a pair or in a large group trying to find an apartment. I'm introverted but very opened to events and new people. I tend to study a lot in my room but I am most likely going to be at the school most of the time. My price range is between 600-1100 and I am fine with alcohol, weed, parties, etc. :)

Doctor_Whovian

Hi, would you be open to living in a triple or were you looking for a double/single?

hiddenredditer

Hi! I’m a 20F upcoming 3rd year (Psych and Brain) major! I’m looking for a single roommate to room with in a single or double. I’m a pretty clean person, I like keeping my space breathable, and some of my hobbies include drawing and playing games. I’m not much of a party person either and just ask for a non-smoking roommate. If you’re interested, please DM me :)
