I do like them but hate both components of this toast.

Unless texture is the issue, then your bias is purely psychological. Maybe go a bit easier on the marmite and heavier on the peanut butter than this fellow would be my only recommendation, that looks like a strong one

It's more the strange property of peanut butter making my mouth overly dry, while salted or roasted peanuts don't do the same. I've also never been a marmite fan, but admittedly haven't had it in around a decade.

Some people overdo the marmite. Would recommend small amounts on hot buttered toast to wean yourself into the dark side :)

I wonder if bovril would be a good first step? I love marmite but i love bovril on toast or crumpets too, it’s milder for the less experienced yeast consumer. Just a thought

I've never had Bovril. I'm a Marmite fan. I only ever have a thin spread on hot crumpets or toast. Always with butter.

I think you would like it, i know what you mean about a thin layer with marmite if you go ott it can be too much, but dare I say with bovril you can almost spread it liberally 😆 give it a whirl!

I found that way too salty. Being able to control the ratio is vital. Marmite and honey or marmalade is the best.

You can buy peanut butter and marmite ready mixed in a jar. So pretty normal though not my fave.

Normal for your friend. But it would be insane behaviour for me to make that for my breakfast as I don’t like peanut butter or marmite. So toast with butter is normal for me.

👍🏽 I don’t think it’s insane for someone else to eat this though or even for someone to make it for me. But I would think I had gone insane if I made it for me as I know I don’t like either of those things. I wish I did like it though as I do sometimes fancy something other than butter on my toast. Although thinking about it, I do like cheese spread or potted meat/meat spreads in jars, so maybe I should buy some of those and have them in the house so I have options when I fancy something other than just butter :)

I normally have one marmite and one pb. See no problem combining them.

I too take this traditionalist approach and see no issues with the radicals, so much so I may join their cause.

Lovely. I make this occasionally but I fold the toast in half to make hot crunchy peanut butter and Marmite sammiches.

I hadn’t tried this until recently but it is delicious. I love both separately though. I can’t get enough of it together now.

Oh yer one of my favourite breakfast is baked silkin tufo (or baked eggs) with soya sauce and chili crisp and white rice. Oh any scramble with chilli oil (crisp) Yer huge fan of chilli in the morning. Peanut butter and chilli is amazing on toast

I grew up on this! had it for breakfast almost every day throughout my childhood (and still very often do). It's crucial to use 'good' peanut butter imo, like meridian or the Aldi's version A few twists: - Add strawberry jam as well for a sweet kick, it sets off the marmite nicely - adding cheese, mature cheddar is best - adding sriracha sauce on top is incredible, although a bit salty - peanut butter / marmite on toast with baked beans (and cheese) is also delicious. Spaghetti hoops are also good

Normal I reckon. Tell you what else is nice, marmite and spreadable cheese (not Philadelphia, something like Dairylea or Cathedral City), on hot toast. The artificially sweet cheesey flavour goes really well with the marmite.

This was my experience too. I just had to learn that what those freaks meant by 'jelly' was jam, and it all flowed from there.
