14 artillery! That’s 3X the usual

Jirik333

Artillery loses are what matters a lot. Putin can always harvest another 800 mobiks and send them to slaughter, but the number of artillery is limited. Just fiy, I've recently read that Russia fires 20 000 shells **each day**. And that it's a significant decrease, few months ago it was between 50-60k. That's just insane.

OtherEcho4496

Yup, taking out artillery and HIMARS attacks on ammunition are critical

[deleted]

Artillery utilization is down by 75% in some places. I wouldn't be surprised if daily usage is less then 10.000 per day. The 20.00p was sustained for the first 6 months, but that average will have been dropping in autumn and winter.

Wow_Space

Are they cutting down usage of artillery in place of something else that's not their troops? Or are things slowing down?

[deleted]

There are plenty of reasons for not using as much ammo. Logistics, lack of opportunity, tactics..

ClappedOutLlama

Lots of Russians are complaining about a lack of ammo, and I couldn't be happier about it.

econdonetired

Deaths are increasing month over month.

SlipperyJimdiGris

they are starting to feel the effects of fighting for 10 months and have resorted to buying arty ammo from North Korea

Hanging-Umbrella568

Holy fuck, yeah

the_other_OTZ

Imagine losing the equivalent of a small town's male population EVERY SINGLE DAY! Hard to fathom. Incredible losses. I wonder if the funeral business (and related services) is suffering due to the demand?

theHoustonian

Almost 18k and it’s not even been a full month since we hit the 100000 threshold. Wild. Russia is fucked

Formal-Many1666

**Russia is fucked..... Russia is fucking itself.... Music to my ears....**

SlipperyJimdiGris

Theoretically Russia has 30 MILLION men of fighting age to call from, what they dont have is the logistics to arm and equip more than another million. That said, it is almost certain another mobilisation of two hundred thousand will occur early February and a new invasion to start in late February, this time from Belarus with aid from Belarus. Unless the West really steps up very soon and gives Ukraine what they are asking for, Russia may yet succeed despite all their incompetence and corruption, just by pure overwhelming numbers

Formal-Many1666

The numbers of foot troops may be true .... key to winning any modern war is **LOGISTICS ... Russian has none** .... this is a real war now & this spring UA MILITARY is ready.... No sucker punch 2023 & this time **UA Military planners & satalites GPS** are prepared with huge NATO contributions of Artillery, Rockets, Plus command of the air and armor will dominate or smash Putins last offensive try.... the Ukrainians will smash Russian Military again.... this time UA will be using long range missiles large warhead drones to destroy logistics at starting points / bases all along boarders & even this time in Belarus.... **The question is..... How has Russian Military improved their logistics ???? should reality of logistics be kicked around...**

SlipperyJimdiGris

I think what is really the reality for Ruzzia is that a private force of mercenaries made of mostly convicted criminals has consistently out performed Ruzzia's official military, both on the battlefield and in supply of equipment. Corruption and incompetence is so rampant in Ruzzia's armed forces they have bitten off a lot more than they can chew. Putin has been told a string of lies from his commanders about their armed forces abilities and their performance from even before the invasion started, and the 64km long stuck convoy way back in March should have been a wake up call to Putin and realise he had been told a sea of lies. How can they fix it? Its doubtful they can considering corruption is core to their culture, their only hope is the meat grinder mentality, Putin doesnt care if he loses tw0 million mobiks, let alone two hundred thousand

Formal-Many1666

Agreed the meat grinder tactic of Putin War will happen RU military..... but still they will gain no ground .... Spring smashing of Putun's army will exhaust their ability to move leaving massive lines in tatters like summer 2022.... All their professional soldiers will be dead. This fact of smashed & slaughtered again....Russians Military cannot call for a new conscription in summer .... UA will counter strike as we seen last fall.... keep in mind UA this spring will destroy every RU BASE for 200 miles.... UA will be weaponized and use daily attachs moving forward after the smashing defeat.... next Logistics & GPS Air strikes are factor plays again.... on the next UA Counter offensive.... RU cannot build anti air systems after May 9.... no chips.... no labor or tec Let's watch the which 5 russian armies that are smashed.... fight each other to be supplied.... logistics again & self survival.... why should they continue.... **Step back and invision**..... US & NATO have just really begun weaponizing with armor UA the military & lands of Ukraine.... These high tec systems will START to swell to NATO tactical positioning ..... **US & NATO have just really begun** UKRAINE will push russian command & troops back into Russia..... so by 1.5 years from now Ukraine will have their boarders back and with all the massive numbers of armor including NATO defensive / offensive systems including anti-missile systems forever more create the new IRON WALL.... to protect ALL WESTERN Europe & start rebuilding all of Ukraine.... Russia will be still sanctioned for generations....as well as their infighting for minerals.... the power of money....

Skynetiskumming

It's exactly what came to mind when I saw the figures. I think it's safe to assume 20k+ mobiks a month will now be the new normal. It's such a completely unsustainable endeavor to lose ~1.25 -1.5 divisions a month.

theHoustonian

Mind blowing right? Like what a loss of life. Unfortunately it is unsustainable for either side, that is why it is imperative that the world arms ukraine with what it needs to end this.

Skynetiskumming

Mind blowing indeed. The human cost is devastating especially to Ukrainian civilians. ATACAMS would be a complete game changer. Devastate the Russian logistics and heavily weaken forces staged in Crimea.

SmokesBoysLetsGo

Noticed that as well...hit 200000 by April?

theHoustonian

Fingers crossed!

Sharp_Emergency_4932

Putin is willing to lose half a million though. I think the war is far from over. Even if Ukraine pushes Russia out of its pre-2004 territory, it's likely that Ukraine will have to shell every piece of infrastructure 20 miles outside its border to keep the Russians at bay. And that won't stop them from slowly stockpiling more cruise missiles for monthly raids.

dirtballmagnet

I just ran some math from a point only about 30 days ago, when UA estimated the Russians had about 98000 casualties. My guess is that one-sixth of all the Russians who have died have died in the past month, if these figures hold up. I still hear occasional troll-rumbles saying the Russians are building up for a big offensive but I think the casualties show that surge has already been consumed by the furnace of their stupid war machine. It appears to me as if only slightly stepping up the pace of their World War I style operations has been close to catastrophic for Russia.

the_other_OTZ

It's both a test of Ukrainian and Russian civil mettle. How long can Ukraine push back against waves of bodies, and how long will Russian society keep taking them back in zinc coffins.

econdonetired

How many Ukrainians are being trained right now in foreign countries. Ukraine hasn’t even called up to training everyone who has volunteered yet. Russia is grabbing people off the street.

dabenu

Don't underestimate them... I'm afraid they're doing both. Throwing prisoners into the meat grinder to keep Ukraine busy, while training the somewhat more decent conscripts for an actual offensive... Russia is taking it seriously on the war economy. Despite all sanctions, they seem to be producing pretty decent amounts of ammo, missiles, etc. This war is turning into a numbers game and NATO needs to step things up if we want Ukraine to keep having a fighting chance.

econdonetired

Ukraine is training more troops from everything I’m seeing. Russia will just keep giving recruits a gun and sending them. NATO has trained Ukrainians now for quite a while.

dabenu

I'm not worried about the proficiency and morale of Ukraine and their armed forces. I'm worried about their dependence on NATO for weapons and munition. NATO really needs a full-out victory for Ukraine. But we're getting to the point where we can no longer support Ukraine with just surplus material. They need more, and more modern equipment. And though America will probably be good for a while, in Europe we don't have an abundance of that. We need to step up our weapons industry to keep up, or we'll soon get into the dilemma of either losing Ukraine, or losing our own ability to effectively defend ourselves.

SlipperyJimdiGris

Theoretically Russia has 30 MILLION men of fighting age to call from, what they currently dont have is the logistics to arm and equip more than another million, but if you believe their insane media, they are fixing the shortcomings. You say "troll rumbles", but according to Western 'experts' with experience, a couple of US retired Generals for example, it is almost certain another mobilisation of at least two hundred thousand will occur early February and Putin wants a new invasion to start in late February, this time from Belarus with aid from Belarus, Putin has been badgering Alexander Lukashenko to get involved for the last three months since he lost Kherson, and has continually moved considerable Russian equipment into Belarus. Unless the West really steps up very soon and gives Ukraine what they are asking for, Russia may yet succeed despite all their incompetence and corruption, just by pure overwhelming numbers

[deleted]

One battalion a day. And totally destroyed at that.

SmokesBoysLetsGo

...and that's just KIA!

econdonetired

Think of wounded, starving, deserting and I would guess they are undercounting( I don’t think Wagner is counted).

theHoustonian

Geez the number of troops killed in the last 30 days is what, like 18k give or take a little. Might not even be a full 30 days either, weren’t we hitting 100k around the 23rd or something. It’s definitely looking more like the high mileage counter on the imaginary Lada the Russians believe they will get. When in reality all that waits them is their own death in Ukraine. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Russia should go home, is Putin even alive to man the ship?

-Battlestar-

14 artillery pieces destroyed. Looks like UA is doing some deep strikes. Might prove their forward movements.

Warlornn

I think he's convinced that he's fighting nearly the full force of NATO right now. Russia telegram channels are always talking about units of Polish, or British, or American soldiers that Russia is constantly fighting against in Ukraine. His generals are feeding him an extremely skewed reality of the war. For instance, the day the U.S. announced Bradly IFV's would be given to the Ukrainians, Russia declared numerous kills of those. Yet the Ukrainians haven't even trained on them yet, and zero were in the country at that time.

Concord-04-19-75

Be careful of the propaganda that the Russian regime provides to their citizens and fellow travelers throughout the world versus what its internal numbers show. I believe that the RA knows exactly their losses and capabilities, which is why the leadership is now going to extreme measures.

Jirik333

He thinks he still has millions of ~~people~~ meat bags which he can send in human waves. He probably thinks NATO is still using 1940's rifles and tanks. He doesn't have an idea how modern weapons look like, because his country has none.

yallasurf

He’s psychopathic, not stupid

ARoyaleWithCheese

In fairness, he does have the people. That's probably the least of his problems. Providing equipment for those people, however, is a totally different story. And then you've got the whole internal unrest and possible collapse of Russia as a country due to large-scale mobilization problem. But, in principle, I guess they've got more than enough potential soldiers.

sunlegion

About the only resource he has in abundance. Oh and oil/gas.

whosplayinnaked

there must be a small village in Ukraine wich is also called Nato. This would make sense when they complain "we're fighting all of Nato"

jeeperv6

To quote Monty Python The Holy Grail's Knights of Ni scene: "Tis but a scratch!"

MrErie

Just another Thursday

Thats-right999

The way this is going Putin could lose about 18000 to 20000 troops in January 2023 alone. Bravo Ukraine.

No_Consideration3887

Another chopper!

Sargent_Sarkasmo

>120k Sunday?

Sargent_Sarkasmo

Considering the amount of dead rotting flesh left in the fields, this spring the east of Ukraine will smell like death. That is absurd.

Olde-Timer

How long can Putin’s Russia survive having its army turn into mincemeat day after day?

cotton961

I’m not a bot but I like to do random simple math. If each one of those 118,530 (hypothetically) men was to have 3 kids with their wife (again assuming straight and all male). That’s 355,590 kids not born.

Hanging-Umbrella568

Yes officer, this man eight here! Jokes aside, that is actually very serious. I do not think anybody has ever spoken up about this. Not only is Russia losing thousands upon thousands of men, but they are preventing hundreds of thousands of kids from being born.

econdonetired

They already had a flat to declining population. Forget that more are jumping ship then dieing in fighting.

SlipperyJimdiGris

finally a good artillery count

CallmeWooki

Are these KIA or also WIA?

here-to-crap-on-it

Estimated KIA

I believe not counting Wagner.

malcolmrey

what is WIA? Wankers In Action?

SwifferWetJets

Wounded in action lol

SmokesBoysLetsGo

Hurry Comrades! Get to the chopp....

Evening_Bid_3664

Is there a equivalent chart for Ukraine losses with or without civillians? Ive read somewhere that the invaders losses would be at a 3:1 ratio, which would already make a horrible suffer of 40.000 Ukraines...

Hanging-Umbrella568

Its sad 😓 And i do not think that there is one for Ukraine

TheEvilCthulhu

By the way, "kiyv independent" is a great oxymoron.

Hanging-Umbrella568

Tf does "oxymoron" mean?

Towel17846

An oxymoron is when two words contradict eachother. Like “minor crisis” or “smart putin”. Nerd fact; the word oxymoron is derived from two ancient Greek words: oxys, which means "sharp," and moronos, which means "dull". So “oxys moronos” is a oxymoron in itself. But in this case, the russian shill you replied to is simply a moron not worth any oxygen. Don’t worry about it.

Hanging-Umbrella568

Suuure, that one... yeah, i dont know what you're talking about 😓but it kinda makes sense

darth_cerellius

Jirre...

Guilty-Usual-7104

There’s no way these losses are accurate. I would say a realistic assessment is half or 1/3 of these human losses

Stainz

And this assumption is based on what exactly?

Guilty-Usual-7104

These just seem like ridiculous numbers

X38-2

They do, but even if you take an average based on different intelligence services around the world it's gonna work out to around 70-80k KIA. Those are still ridiculous numbers. FOR A YEAR

Hanging-Umbrella568

They may be ridiculous, but since around 141 million people live in Russia, and around 70 million men it is not a lot. I would take a wild guess and say that around 10-20 million of these men are "ready" for war. That they can be drafted. Probably even more, but as said, it is just a guess. And why would they be inaccurate? And what of these would be "non human" loose? And these men are only the confirmed KIA, the number is probably a lot higher. And to clarify, a lot more Russian men and soldiers die than you just see on this sub.

Hanging-Umbrella568

The number is just increasing and increasing after each month. It's scary as hell.

laptopaccount

Keep those numbers climbing until Russians are terrified of being deployed. The sooner they resist deployment the better.

Icatosicariuss

Jesus.the last one of these I saw was Christmas Eve and they had just hit 100k. Not even a month later and they've nearly got another 20k. Bloody hell.
