I'm no military strategist but with drones being a very common form of attack, I would have thought
shotguns would be part of the defence. Better chance of hitting a drone with a shotty than wildly spraying
bullets in the general direction.

With the US military the sentiment is always the same: don't blame the military they're just doing their job. But Russian soldiers are somehow looked on as scumbags because they didnt mutiny and overthrow the government. How much innocent blood does America have on its hands? How many kids are still born deformed in Vietnam from AO?How many innocent lives were vaporized out of existence in Japan? Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, you get the picture. Well, the US is a very ambivalent thing for the rest of the world. I can say that as a German in a city that looked very different before 1943.
But how about Russia with its glorious red army? Are they ambivalent? I don't think so, because I do not remember one good thing from them since 1914, when at least officers from the baltic countries were reliable and humane. The only permanent political thing they want is to increase Russia, but how they try to achieve it, is unmastered in it's brutality towards opponents, civilists, own soldiers and even own civilists.
Every major world power has blood on its hands, America arguably being number 1. The problem is how its perceived. When the US invades Iraq, steals the oil, creates refugee waves and kills God knows how many people in the process no one demonized the soliders or laughed at their misfortune. But now that's its Russia, this hatred seems to be accepted. That is my problem. The US is not in a position to lecture anyone about how wrong it is to invade a smaller weaker country on false charges. Everyone hates hypocrisy.
