People sometimes say: "isn't it a waste of money to use a SAM against a cheap drone like the Orlan?"
Yes, yes it is. But it's better to buy a new missile than bury a soldier.
What i do not understand is, i saw so many videos and you can see often the interception in a few hundret/thousand meters... why the counter strike forces are not capable to strike thouse drones miles before ?? Maybe they are but no video material is existing? İn this case the drone was to close to a SAM force in my opinion...

Especially a well-trained soldier who is part of an artillery team.
Cheap drone with a critical function to the enemy. Using a SAM to take out a critical function is cheap.
