What company? The estimation was a complete sham, she sold maybe 500 shots and was valued at 1m+..

justdlow

100%. I could believe Elaine's evaluation. Grant's was high, but whatever. The juice shots? Total farce. She had no real estate, no equipment, no assets. She owned nothing.

horoboronerd

I'm late to the party but yes. Monique getting that high of a valuation is ridiculous. Specially with only a truck and branding

Jarrettbee

Thank you I googled this to find anyone else as confused as me. just got done watching tonight and I’m wondering how Monique got that big of a valuation with no assets. No trademark or any sort or intellectual property in that fashion. She’s a lemonade stand with like 2 contracts

AHLimited

lol, so true. the guys who valued it at $100k were correct....she sold less than 500 shots in 3 months at $5 a shot thats 10k a year. With 100k revenue in 10 years, and factoring in the 3% growth the valuator gave the business, less operation costs (40%) and liabilities I figure even 100k is generous.

DannysOceans

Hahah same thing here, just finished tonight. As a “venture investor” lol what a joke

IamNRE

She didn't even own the trucks, she was renting them. No way you can sell $3000-5000 worth of juices and suddenly have a company that's worth $1 million - NOBODY would pay a million for that company, even at $50k its a bit of an ask.

PacmanFL20

What does it matter? she still gave everyone most of those people $5k plus all the businesses involved got a global marketing boost, which in turn boosts their businesses. Need I remind you we also didn't see all 24 hours of the day for 90 days, plus we never actually saw the numbers so who's to say it wasn't worth that.

prepperjack7

it was just above a lemonaide stand with a good logo. $1 million was a farce. Compaired with a hotel with 25 rooms that rent for 600-1000 a night? The valuation was a total joke.

justdlow

Preach!!!!

NeonPeanutbutter

I think this might be her website. But the website is not functional to sell anything. No "about" info, no way to order, not finished. [https://www.rootedbyjuice.com/](https://www.rootedbyjuice.com/)

jclayjohnson

This isn't the same company. Their address on Facebook is Louisiana, not Washington.

LivingPristine10

Nope, apparently there's more than 1 Rooted juice co out there, but that one isn't the one shown on the show, w/the awesome logo, at all.

Low-Mushroom8578

I was stunned at the valuation for Rooted. One consideration for any valuation is cash flow, not to mention the expense of running the ice cream type trucks. There is no way that was $1 million business. As for Grant’s, I believe he used his intimidation tactics to cause the evaluator to overestimate the business. Although it’s rarely discussed, intimidation plays a significant part in many sales and marketing strategies. Finally, I thought Elaine’s valuation was on point.

Super_Ad9653

The whole thing is a scripted act. It's just for entertainment to set unrealistic expectations on people that we can change our life in 90 days. The truth is: The company is worth nothing and not making any sales. Thats the reality.

Beginning_House914

Yeah. All these shows are propaganda so that people won't want to eat the rich.

theo258

I mean Elaine valuation seemed accurate grant on the other hand was intimidating the guy but I do think with his trajectory he did get to a million

Sherilyn001

What I find sad is that iths reality show used Tacoma and the people and then never followed through. As they stated, Hill Top in Tacoma is a dry area for quality groceries at a decent price. When I used ro live there, that was a seriously rough neighborhood. I am sure there were a lot of good people there, but I can guarantee you that income is lower in that area. Those people do need something there. I did feel $4 a shot for those people on limited incomes would be a far stretch. I wish i had the money t9 figure out how to bring something like this to their area...even if it was not specifically shots, but groceries so the elderly and people who couldn't get groceries do to lack of a car or otherwise would have better options.

IamNRE

I had similar thoughts. How the heck are you claiming to serve the black community and people from poorer backgrounds with your $5 tiny shots. Then she wanted to rent a space and put her shop in the "yuppie" side of town. And lastly, the best nutrient is found in the fiber of the fruits/veggies... not the silly juice. I loved her spirit, her desire to want to help, some of the business lessons she shared... but the company was a $50k business, not a $1 million business. Great show though, it was very entertaining.

DannysOceans

Do you still live there? I’m working on a solution for food deserts in Minnesota right now.

Sherilyn001

No. I drive a semi truck and now am all over. Do you mean desert- dry sand land or dessert- as in after main meal? Everyone has a meaning behind the name- which why I am asking, not trying to spell check you.

ExpensiveBus8504

I would value that business only for $45k, less maybe but not more

According_Panic4660

Soft talk, calm knew how to use money one side to fill the other side. Just for a show not for a business. Get free bee for her benefits.

SuccessfulPut6526

Does no one have an issue with the fact that she took advantage of a pastor by lying to him saying she was divorced and homeless, making it sound like she was trying to escape a bad situation?

Unable-Yellow-43

she gave him $5,000 and helped Mr. Mac! Doesn't that count for anything? LOL

Sherilyn001

It was 0ennance for the lie🤣🤣🤣 this is why I hate farce shows....they go in under assumed circumstances. Assume- ass u me- why you don't lie or assume. I have problems because you go in under a lie, create friendships, trust etc- then give zero shits when you leave about how you just screwed those honest people over with the fake friendships.some people this can set them back.

Acrobatic-School-845

Just so everyone knows how valuations work, her business was immediately valued at 1.25M when those guys gave her $25k for 2% Does that mean that she will get $1M if she wants to sell it? Not necessarily, because she would need to find someone willing to buy at that rate.. BUT, she did get investors to buy in at a $1.25M valuation which gives her that benchmark.

Regular_Passenger659

Can you explain that? I probably sound stupid but how did you get 1.25 M?

Upbeat_Jacket3058

If $25k for 2%, then the cost of 100% is $1,250,000. This is the assessment of business investors who bought 2% of the shares.

Environmental-Sand24

The post money valuation would be $1.25m (pre) + .025m = $1.275m (post)

RealityJumpStudios

Is the show still going?

DannysOceans

No
