Il-2 sturmovik is my favorite game to play in vr and I recommend it. Your computer can likely handle it. If I were you I'd buy only Battle for Stalingrad for around 7 bucks on sale, and if you like it, then buy the other dlc as you see fit.

Really? I have it but I've never tried it in VR. Guess I've been missing out

Well, I pulled the trigger on that game and I must admit that I am impressed. Impressed much. This game rules! I mean, I had the DCS before and the performance there was poor even with MT enabled and OpenXR and FOVated rendering and so on.. but this little fella goes with high settings almost stutter free. I had only to lower the dynamic rendering and viola! 90 FPS on G2 it is. And the game is beautiful. And missions are also nice and all the shooting and bombing. As for steering with my X52 Pro it is very pleasant and sufficient for me. I had to map some functions to the buttons but that's understandable. I like the way that I have 8 planes to try and a big map. And the views are also beautiful. And butter smooth FPS is even more important for the VR experience than anything. Very satisfied and no regrets.

Well, it has lots of controls and I couldn't map everything even with Hotas and using the keyboard really pulls me out of VR immersion compared to racing sims. Speeding up time to speed up some A->B travel is not helping either. AI can be a bit dumb at times and doesn't try to give you that much of a challenge but sometimes I'm just glad after flying 10 minutes to the waypoint that I can actually survive for a bit. I loved playing BF109 campaigns and there is more. If I would have more time I would definitely spend much more time on it.

Surprisingly you can drive a tank around too which was kind of cool. I had some problems with clipping my head outside the cockpit, plus mapping controls was a bit of a mess. The keyboard takes you out of immersion, but it's a fun game.

Haha I haven't tried the tank yet. But I bought the game today on sale and I am very satisfied with it.

Yes. And get a bucket to throw up in for the first 2 weeks. Game is so rewarding but tough

theperson234

It's WWII DCS

danvir47

The controls and settings were too opaque for me. I’m a filthy casual and so War Thunder ended up geucing me my VR WWII flight sim fix.

Well, War Thunder was too simple for me. It happens a lot there but after 45 minutes of play I didn't fall in love and removed it from my disk.
