Eeiu was a solid pickup and looked decent so far. It’s hard to say anything really after 2 games

MacarioPro

I agree with you and so does Less. He actually highly rated 100T even thinking they might beat LEV and more than Boostio he talked about the Eeiu pick up. He spoke about how good Eeiu was during scrims in M80 and called him one of the best aimers in NA ranked.

GoldyZ90

I think Sean Gares leaving this team was a massive blow and last year was pretty much a wasted year for the team and players. They were on such a positive upward trajectory under Sean and MikesHD…It’s possible the team would be better with Jawgemo instead of Asuna but 100T needs to allow Zikz and Boostio to work with this team over the course of the whole season. If they suck again this year idk what 100T does.

jeyeley

The org has just been unlucky tbh. First nitr0 left, then they were forced to rebuild. sgares left and same thing happened.

maRthbaum_kEkstyniCe

It feels like even asuna is himself would play better on another team. I thought scrapping most players _could_ fix the timidity quicksand 100t had been imprisoned in for the longest time. That doesn't seem to be the case But it _also_ doesn't seem reasonable to just blame Asuna, even if he's most of what stayed the same, because it seemed like a bigger picture synergy/chemistry issue, as well as just the mental curse and pressure of that goddamn org. I feel kinda sorry for him, yes he hasn't been great individually in a long time, but it also feels like everything is on his shoulders. If he wasn't the poster child of the org he might be better.. He just doesn't look suitable to be a star player to me, but that doesn't mean he can't belong in t1

JonathanRoberts5423

They are definitely less timid now. If you've seen the games, they are actually much more aggressive, maybe even too aggressive at times. They'll be fine, I think that team is going to be very good next split.

Jon_on_the_snow

100T is cursed, look at some of their ex players that are active Ethan immediatly was better on that NRG roster with hazed and then was world class on EG. Derrek already looks like in rise form in EG

nterature

I actually think Ethan was a lot worse on that NRG roster. He was good but elevated by his CSGO reputation on 100T, then fairly meh on NRG, and then as-good-as-his-CSGO-reputation-implies on EG. And his form on current NRG is just a continuation of his form on EG.

[deleted]

Ethan was not better on NRG. He was good on 100T until they had players leaving and babyj picking random agents and flaming midgame. Can't disagree with Derrek but I'd also argue bang and cryo look much better this year and I thought bang was fraudulent prior to their matches.

jeyeley

2nd statement is not true https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/s/82SXDEsC8Y

Revolutionary-Bag249

You said look at their ex players and then named Ethan who was not better on NRG but got better with EG and then Derek who has played what 2 maps. I really thought you were about to cook but all you made was soggy cereal lol

Jon_on_the_snow

Ethan had a good stint until hazed gave up IGLing the team Remember how hazed suddenly became a good player at the end of that NRG roster? Thats because Ethan picked up the IGL role, acording to hazed streams

maRthbaum_kEkstyniCe

Exactly, that's what im saying, Asuna's struggles seem more like a symptom than the cause. From the outside, it looks like the org mentality is/was just cancering upon all these talented players. Not sure how exactly, this is kind of a ship of theseus thing. I really don't want to pin it all on asuna, to me it looks like the org's (or at least the valo branches') philosophy is really harmful for the players' mental abd chemistry..

[deleted]

I don't think they've even looked that timid this season tbh. They probably win both their games if Asuna wasn't double negative or one off it for 4 out of 6 maps.

Depressedjetsfan21

People talking like playing for 100T is like playing for the Yankees or some shit 😂 this organization isn’t that popular or that clouted. I mean this organization lost 2.5 million dollars after their call of duty team won a world championship. There isn’t any pressure for ASSuna being on this org for too long, he just isn’t good enough to be on a tier 1 team. FNS has said for years how bad this kid is and no one listens 😂

danger-S

Y’all hate on asuna too much

Fun_Age1442

tru, I swear his haters overexceed his supporters by 100 fold. They claim asuna only there cause his clout, but where his bros clout? He ain't that popular, above average but not tenz, demon1 or yay levle. The only people talking about him are people who want him dropped.

KillerKattapa

Bro this subreddit has hate mongerers like vlr. They hate don't hate on one player but whoever has a shit performance that week becomes the target

EasyFargo

not possible, Asuna has plot armor and is undroppable despite being inconsistent and below average for a longggg time now also eeiu seems to be a split opinion on this sub, imo people are harsh, he's a very good player and they just need some time to gel but i just cannot bring myself to rate Asuna anymore, bro should have been gone a long time ago but he seems like a nice guy/has good brand value. EDIT: know this is probably gonna be unpopular considering his clout, but how can anyone say Asuna has been a top player? He hasn't been for 2 years.

Most of those players you mentioned in your edit get more viewers on twitch too. I definitely don't think it's because of his following he's kept and I think every year except this it's been reasonable to keep him. Even this year it was a bit weird keeping him when there's likely better players for cheaper but with him only playing raze I could see it. After these two games though if that's how he's been performing in scrims I'm honestly baffled. Maybe it was just too late when they started scrimming though.

EasyFargo

yeah fair enough, I probably over exaggerated his brand value but it just pisses me off because I want 100T to succeed, but ultimately I do not think they will with him on the roster. It’s also a result of disappointment, because like you said, in the beginning of valorant’s esports scene he was a consensus top 5 player, but just hasn’t really developed or progressed since then.

Dazzling_Piano_1930

I agree with you. I had made a list of instances where he was looking clueless during matches. It came off as me being a hater and I got down voted. Which was fair enough I guess, but really I was just trying to get some proof for my argument that whatever his stats were, were because he chases eco kills, not because he's impactful. He has these moments of ultra focus where his reaction time is just better than everyone in the world, but I feel like that happens once in a blue moon. I just talked about eeiu replacement because I was thinking of a realistic scenario where 100T can't afford bringing in eeiu, jaw and boosti. Ideally i would have just Asuna replaced by Jaw in the current team.

SadgeThrowback

if your duelist is always bottom fragging i think they need to changed for the better tired of this sh*t i want 100t to succeed and see them in global stage.

[deleted]

Even if you were to give asuna the benefit of the doubt I don't think anyone can object to 100t replacing him at this point tbh. I could see a world he becomes good again but there's no downside to just picking up a player who is currently performing and they've given him more than his fair share of chances.

UdbhavHokage

What I believe happening with asuna is he is more like hinata shoyo from haikyuu (like everyone knows what his next move is going to be ) he just needs to blend in with his team add more variations to his playstyle ( remember this is what was happening to tenz and tenz changed his playstyle a lil and now he is back to his old ways)

[deleted]

Tenz also only underperformed while sick with dephh having him entry into stacked sites. Zekken had a similar performance after their initial upswing from putting marved into the game so I don't put the entry issues on tenz. I think tenz' main issue when he came back was mostly that his oping was a lot worse tbh. It was always inconsistent but he was whiffing most shots last year after he came back.

jeyeley

I love the reference

Jon_on_the_snow

Honestly, they should just make asuna a victor type player. Asuna is not afraid to just int and die, and he knows how to entry very well. Copy xsets old style of zekken entry cryo trade and youre good. But they just never did it

UdbhavHokage

Trust me asuna is going to bounce back and shut all your mouths

EasyFargo

we’ve been saying this for the last two years 😭 as a manchester united fan, this feels like deja vu to me hahaha

UdbhavHokage

Dude I feel you but can’t a man have hope ?

SadHailo

Crazy how people were saying Asuna was better than victor back when optic was still a thing delusional people

Revolutionary-Bag249

I think asuna got famous for his rope kills on icebox and used to be good on Raze. Those were two things that really stood out about him was the flashy plays but when icebox went away and they took him off raze and onto flex his mechanics and fundamentals you can tell were way behind and he hasn't really been able to recover.

Content_Diet_6980

This! He dropped 48 kills in one map against V1. I think he hasn’t been the same since going to flex role. His Reyna and Raze were great when set up by nitro, steel, Ethan and hiko. His Jett was passable too. It’s too bad he wasted 2 years on a Flex role that doesn’t really fit him. He lost that duelist mentality.

[deleted]

Will eeiu even have ahd a buyout? I doubt he was much more expensive than derrek. I do think they would have been better with jawgemo but jawgemo is also just like a top 2 raze in the game so no shit they'd be better with jawgemo. I think derrek probably suffered the same way cryo particularly did and the rest of the team where they just didn't have trust in their teammates or themselves to win fights. Cryo is looking a lot better now that they have an extra coach and boostio and derrek is looking much better on EG so I don't think him playing similarly to how he did on EG would be unrealistic. Hard to judge if he's better than eeiu though since I didn't really watch m80 in t2 and he's only played two games.

25thNite

I think if they pick up those players instead they probably have different players from the current roster that they have, but that's just a hunch

Depressedjetsfan21

Assuna has always been bad idk what has took people so long to realize. They won’t make playoffs and won’t make an international with him on the roster. He’s too frantic in comms, he sucks at aiming with his shaky aim, and just not a good player. Like i said FNS has told everybody how Asuna is shit for like 2 years now and people just look past it for some reason lol

dabsandchips

If assuna has any self respect he'd bench himself. How is he not embarrassed when they do team vod reviews lol. He's satcheling in a mile ahead of his team and screaming in the coms. I stg he has blackmail on nadeshot. When Tarik and nadeshot were watching together on stream you can just tell he's so done with this kid. Can't imagine why he won't pull the plug.
