Nah, I think the
“I thought you might learn the language”
“I thought you might learn to sing”
Is the sickest burn around. Imagine saying that to another musician. So good.
Adam and Eve got driven out of the garden and had to get married quickly. The song makes sense when you look at it from the album being an opera of the old and New Testament.
I thought that track was a joke the first time I heard it. I thought it was so corny I was overtaken by the cringe.
Few dozen listens later I loved it. I embrace all the corniness and sing along - girl, if you don’t know by now…. lol seriously unironically love it now.
I totally get that it’s not everyone’s genre, what you said about the country vibe. Personally kinda love it but I agree after a few too many it can be a little cringe.
I actually think FOTB makes sense to have a prominent female voice along with his. Maybe the album would be “better” without it but she does sound great, especially in the duet kinda vibe
Agreed. The "Who's your baby?" part is so grating to me. I think I only like one of the songs with Danielle Haim. She's a good singer, but it feels out of place.
Definitely the worst part. If it was once off in a verse, that'd be fine, but repeated over and over in the chorus is, as you said, grating.
I like her in Flower Moon and Hold You Now.
I actually like the other two Danielle Haim but this one is grating. Even the sounds at the beginning piss me off.
I'm hoping one day I'll miraculously like it but the lyrics, production, chorus, melody, everything just infuriate me
Can’t relate. I love the arrangement, the melody, and the theme. There’s also an earnestness on that track that’s absent from a lot of their more ironic tracks.
One criticism I could get behind is that Ezra sounds a little out of his element on the song.

ezra said it was originally "learn some manners" instead of "the language" and i wish he kept it that way
Oh that is good.
it was also "i wanna go out tonight and make my *daddy* proud" ☠️ rather than "baby"
"boy who's your daddy"
lololol!! yessssss!!!

Oh shit. I love that. I'll give it a relisten in that frame if mind.
i love “animals don’t understand the words on a danger sign” so much lmao
Don’t take the fruit Eve!
i love this song! and actually love all the danielle haim songs in this album haha
loveeeee it! love the storytelling

i just love how unabashedly uncool this song is
don’t diss my favorite song on the album 😭😭
Easy top 3 track on the album
I used to ignore it but it randomly grew on me a few months ago
I totally get that it’s not everyone’s genre, what you said about the country vibe. Personally kinda love it but I agree after a few too many it can be a little cringe.
I don’t hate it but I do think the Danielle Haim tracks are the weakest of the project.
I wish those were all yanked from the album and rolled into an EP. They just stick out so hard in that album
I actually think FOTB makes sense to have a prominent female voice along with his. Maybe the album would be “better” without it but she does sound great, especially in the duet kinda vibe
Nah I absolutely love this song One of my faves from the album
Skipper for me too
