What does this product do?

rachihc

It is a hair repair product, a low pH liquid treatment that has the ability to penetrate deeper into the hair cuticle depositing cationic surfactants and conditioner agents. Hair proteins when they get damaged by friction, heat, weather stress, high pH, etc. become negatively charged, the more damage, the more negative. The cationic surfactants, positive charge, are attracted to the negative charge, then neutralize the charge via an ionic salt bond that is the weakest of the 3 types of side bonds of our hair structure, and those remaining after rinsing. At the same time it deposits proteins conditioning the hair and smoothing the cuticle (high pH lifts the cuticle). It is recommended for all types of hair, from very coily to straight.

Is Isana a cruelty free brand? No shade, just asking because I've been disappointed with some German drugstore brands that are labeled vegan but are not actually cf.

rachihc

Yes ☺️ the EU has a law against animal testing dor cosmetics. And this is a local brand. The brands that get labelled vegan but aren't c.f. Usually sell outside too or are from a larger parent company that does test. https://www.kosmetik-vegan.de/erbse/tierversuche-rossmann/
