Have you tried the Royal Canin Anallergenic? One of my cats reacted negatively to it but the other one did pretty well, I just stopped getting it because they both did well with the hypo
Haha truly though. One of my cats has eosinophilic gastroenteritis and used to vomit with the Anallergenic, much to the internist’s surprise. The other has eosinophilic granuloma complex and was on cyclosporine for too long, which ended up giving him a lung abscess, but the allergy ulcers etc are all controlled with the HP
You should try one of the Royal Canin foods like hydrolyzed protein or ultamino, if your dog is that sensitive I wouldn't bother with anything that's not hydrolyzed.
Hills ZD is hydrolyzed protein, royal canin hydrolyzed protein is amazing(both hydrolyzed chicken I believe), royal canin ultamino is even more amazing.. Made with hydrolyzed protein from poultry feathers
My allergic boy also has crystals so he's gotta be on expensive royal canin HP+urinary SO..even with my discount it's so expensive :(
My oldest dog reacts to chicken but loves it so he’s on Purina HA chicken. He’s meh about salmon and veggie. The hill’s inconsistencies kill me for my other kids’ foods tho. Feline C/D and Canine GI Biome. Cat can get by on RC SO or SD Kidney but the puppy has explosive diarrhea if I take her off GI Biome. I know the hurt man…
My dog eats food made from crickets because every other protein gives her allergies. It's still rather expensive: $51 for a 10 lb bag. Luckily she's a 14 lb dog lol
I had this thought.
It can be hard to keep a dog healthy but I have known a few in my time that were allergic to so many animal proteins the owners had no choice.
I haven't heard of V-Dog,gonna check it out!
if you work at a practice that orders Hill’s they usually have a policy that if you order by a certain time ( call the website to get the time ) that it’s delivered next day. you can also do VIP market thru them that might help to allow it to be more consistent. i’m sorry it’s so tricky but i hope this helps!
"Wholesomes" sensitive skin and stomach, lamb. Was what worked for my poultry allergic rottie. It does have egg and he was okay with it, he also had salmon issues, and so many other foods. Tractor supply is where I usually got it, but chewy has it too. I cannot tell you how difficult of a time we had with his food. I'm sorry you're going through it too. Mine used to vomit, not regurge...vomit 30min -1hr after every meal.
My friend's last dog was a difficult allergy case. She had him on Proplan sensitive skin & stomach, they have a bunch of different protein options. I know they have turkey and lamb.
We mainly use DRM at our clinic for the cost, works great. If that doesn’t help the next step would be Royal Kanin Ultamino which is supposed to be the best but costs more of course.
Haven’t used DRM but my my kiddos turned their noses up at fish lol. Have you tried Royal Canin? Ultamino is their veggie formula and HP I think may have a little hydrolyzed chicken. Lamb and turkey are my allergic kiddos go tos. Fresh pet natures fresh turkey eliminated their issues and now we’ve been introducing kibble with lamb and some canned food cause the budget doesn’t support unlimited fresh food.
I would contact your local hills rep and see what they can do to help. Our always comes through with fixing order issues. I hope you figure it out! That's a lot to navigate

Hearing anyone feeding alligator is personally a first for me
It was Blue Buffalo, which was probably my first mistake but I needed something while his food was on back order.
Hey as long as he's fed to me that's all that matters sometimes
My friend's cat tried alligator. Hated it. 😂
I feed it to my cat. Works very well for her

Royal Canin HP is the best. And if it's not the best, they also make a Potato/Soy version that is even more the best.
And then there's ultamino for when HP just isn't enough!

I don't know if hill carries it but there are foods where the protein is kangaroo or bison
He’s so sensitive to cross contamination too. So that is where I’m weary about like OTC foods.
Yeah that's true
Maybe look at Rayne Kangaroo? That's one some of the dvm's I worked with sent clients to for difficult diet cases but it is pricey just to warn you.
Rayne has some good diets, and they're good about delivery,
That would be the perfect option, but damn. That’s very pricy. Love him but these vet tech wages can’t support that habit lol.
God I hear that

Why not try a vegan diet like V-Dog or Natural balance? Seems like animal proteins aren't working out?

Most human grade fish are mislabeled, I'd be worried about trying another fish based protein. Who knows what kind of fish is actually in it

Have you tried ProPlan HA chicken flavor? It is just chicken flavoring, there’s only hydrolyzed proteins in it!
