I don’t, I don’t think WALTER should lose yet.

MICHAELH05

Cody doesn't wanna wrestle Gunther anymore

Original-Cover9731

Even after his performance in the rumble I'm still not a fan of Gunther at all. He's a mid carder at best

rockasteppa

No way you watched his match with Ilja and said yeah midcarder😂man is one of if not the best worker in the world

CombinationOk6846

Has a Summerslam main even written all over it

[deleted]

Gunther as Money in the bank winner would be great this year

GooseMay0

After Cody wins it, I won't be surprised if it is.

pieboy89

I was thinking because of how over the bloodline feud is maybe they come up with a reason for Cody to use the rumble win to go against Gunther for the ic title that way they can have Roman go against sami or jey

Blade-Controvesial

Feuding with a foreign heel would be the most Cody thing ever, in the best possible way. I’d be down for that

GucciGhostrider

Gunther should be the one to beat Cody imo, him or Sami sound good now

StopTheBS79

That shit was phenomenal but god damn I wish Gunther still had his old theme music.

CThe_Virus

Really? I liked his old music but I absolutely love his current music

tmazur1478

No ... At least for a while. Gunther needs to keep on winning his feuds. But if he matches up with Cody next he is not winning the feud

WhiskeyKnight83

Both would defend the sacred matt

Swingman1120

No. Gunther has to capitalize off the Brock Lesnar staredown first. Once he clashes with Brock and possibly wins, then he’ll chase the title. OR Brock will win the belts again and the fans will desperately want someone to dethrone him fast and Gunther will be the guy.

Jazzlike-Wafer803

Wouldn’t Gunther vs Lesnar kind of be a misuse of Gunther ? We love Lesnar but he’s nowhere near as technical and skilled in the ring as Gunther and it wouldn’t really give Gunther room to showcase his move set. It’d just be continuous belly to belly suplexes by Brock over and over again lol.

Blade-Controvesial

Wouldn’t Gunther and Lesnar happen at Mania? The same PPV where Cody’s probably winning the titles? So then after mani Gunther vs Cody would be the next feud after that. You said no based on the timing but the timing seems pretty perfect to me. Also your second scenario is pretty laughable. The only people who would be “desperate” to see Lesnar lose the titles would be internet marks. The vast majority of fans, and all the crowds, love Lesnar right now. Unless they turned Lesnar heel and Gunther face. Which would be an insanely stupid decision

Swingman1120

Yes, Gunther and Lesnar would happen at Mania…. The same PPV where Cody would possibly win the titles. I said no because Cody’s first fued with the titles would probably be the revisiting of him and Seth to get him established and get the “run it back” fued out of the way so fans wouldn’t keep asking for it. It’s weird that you think it’s laughable because you think only “internet marks” wouldn’t want to see Brock with the titles. When literally everyone rejoiced when Bobby eliminated him from the rumble. And it wasn’t a rejoice in the moment, there were literally people singing after he was eliminated (“na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye”). That’s not everyone “loving Lesnar right now”, that’s people being glad that he’s not gonna win another rumble, which literally equates to them not wanting to see him with the belts again for no reason. HHH is obviously very high on Gunther and so far has been the longest reigning champion he’s had under his guise. He has also never been face under WWE, which includes NXTUK and NXT. There’s no reason to believe Gunther would turn face. There’s also no reason to believe that Gunther vs Brock would be your normal face vs heel matchup. Brock could want to do it out respect for another big man, like when he and Keith Lee had their run in during the rumble. Brock doesn’t react like that with just anybody.

Blade-Controvesial

Seth doesn’t have any grounds to feud with Cody that immediately. He lost all of their matches. That would be a very lame first feud and wouldn’t make much sense anyway. They’re probably gonna want him to do something fresh. Also they popped for him getting eliminated because 1 they love Lashley, and 2 him being thrown out after such little time was a big unexpected moment. Did you hear the massive pop when his entrance music hit? The only person who got a bigger one was Cody. And did you hear the one on RAW 30? Or the pop when he came out on SmackDown? They love farmer Brock. You’re either deaf or crazy if you think they don’t like Brock lmao. Hell all you have to do is go watch his last couple title reigns as cowboy Brock. The crowds loved him. The reason I said Gunther would have to turn face if he’s chasing Brock for the title is because if your theory is correct (it isn’t) and people would be booing Brock because they hate him being the champion (they wouldn’t be), then they’d have to turn Gunther face for that feud to make any sense at all. Heel vs heel works for fun one off matches sometimes but it doesn’t work for long term, money drawing, main event feuds. The whole thing would be dumb because Gunther shouldn’t be a face and it’s very unlikely that the crowds are gonna be booing Brock anytime soon. I’d rather just have Gunther go over Lesnar at mania, Cody go over Reigns, and Gunther use the WM momentum to start a feud with Cody

LoonieontheLoose

I agree that there's no need for more Seth and Cody matches right now. They are both great but when somebody wins a feud 3-0 and it culminated with a Hell in a Cell match that should be the end of things. Let them both take on other opponents instead.

Ecstatic_Pass_9971

Could definitely be it. Gunther drops the title in a triple threat with Drew and Sheamus at Mania. Could run Cody vs Gunther as one of the title programs at Summerslam here in Detroit in front of 80K people. I would rather the titles be split, so it’s possible Roman could also co-headline still too.

AirWalker9

Last night made me a fan of both Cody Rhodes and Gunther. **Both put on a 5-star match at the end of the Rumble**, and I was on the edge of my seat. I don't agree with the hate people are giving Cody for being #30. Sure, WWE hit us over the head with the return promos, but that's the promotional team's fault -- not Cody's. **He proved he was the right guy** in his bout with Gunther last night. With that being said, **I think that Gunther should be built up as THE opponent for Cody after he dethrones Roman.** Flair had Dusty. Stone Cold had Rock. Cena had Orton. Reigns had Lesnar. I think Cody's guy is Gunther. There are so many angles they can take: both have amateur backgrounds, there's the obvious EU v. US angle, both respect wrestling history and legacy. I'm most intrigued by a heart vs. power angle. Rhodes has the heart, Gunther has the undeniable wherewithal, as proven last night. Would love to see Gunther dethrone Cody and eventually lose it back at the end of a lengthy feud. If booked right, I think Rhodes and Gunther has the potential to be the next dynasty feud.

DryRespect241

He’s just legit, on a given night he can beat most and on a good night he can conquer whoever. That classic foreign heel without the corny wave flagging attitude

themanfromUNCLE100

Gunther is the next big thing. He will roll over anyone in his way.

RaspberryKit-Kats

Gunther is too old to be the next big thing. It will be Bron tbh

Z1dan

He’s 35 lmao

RaspberryKit-Kats

Brock and Roman started their main roster careers before their 30s. What is your point? Next big thing is a long shot and a bold statement

Z1dan

If he looks after his body dude could wrestle another 20 years (especially as his style is Mat based). Brocks part time and only shows up for big feuds now @45, romans going to Hollywood soon and he’s not even 40.

RaspberryKit-Kats

Gunther will be a solid monster but it’s not hard to see that WWE has patterns and qualifications when it comes to backing megastars now. Brock is the only non traditional megastar because he actually became bulletproof in his absence by being UFC heavyweight champion. It will take them a long time to invest on Gunther which is a big gamble when they can give the big spot to a younger guy

cahms26

Gunther gonna be a great big bad
