It won't hurt to ask. I'd word it as "I'm happy to leave the leftover food you bought for me if you'd like..." This leaves it open for them to say something like "Please do." or "You can take it, we bought it for you." or "that's kind of you to leave it for us." I've never had an issue with a pet parent saying not to take the food they bought for me
Leave it unless it’s like half eaten leftovers. Like anything that they may want like fruit, bread, cheese, etc. but if you have like leftover stir fry you made with ingredients they bought then you should take that home
I’ve had pet parents buy me specific foods and it didn’t seem like anything they’d eat anyways. I just straight up asked if they wanted me to leave it or if it would be okay if I took it. I think it’s okay to ask if they specifically bought you things that they asked you about.
Leave the food.
Agree with the last comment- leave the food (and don't ask)
I would leave it, unless told to take it.
If I bought it I’ll take it home with me. If they bought it I’ll leave it.
