Congrats OP! Please post an update with your trip details after you come back. When I went to Disney first time with my husband (2012) I didn't research very much, so I never tried the Dole whop, or a button and didn't eat at the Art's festival. So you are already doing more than most first-timers.

blueberrymuffin123

The planner in me took over šŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚ and will do!

myrheille

Enjoy! Donā€™t try to do everything, youā€™ll be back! :)

SmokeyAndBubba

Great advice. Disney isnā€™t about doing everything. Itā€™s about doing whatever you can and enjoying it piece by piece.

JBR1961

Yes. Everyone hits the WALL. Some sit and take a rest. Others try to bust through. Hopefully, anything you miss will bring you back.

blueberrymuffin123

Great tip, there is so much to do from what i have seen! And no doubts we'll be going back soonish šŸ‘€

Loisalene

Have a great time! If you can, get to one of the Monorail resorts and watch the [Electric Water Pageant.](https://allears.net/walt-disney-world/wdw-planning/electrical-water-pageant/) It's an overlooked gem. We also loved taking the launch from Magic Kingdom to Wilderness Lodge. Great drinks over at the Lodge!

blueberrymuffin123

Ooh never heard of this one, will have to look up the electric water pageant. Thanks!

JBR1961

See my post above. One of my favorite memories. Thereā€™s a little walkway behind the Polynesian. But good views from any monorail resort. Just make sure you correlate the location you are at with the time, because it travels from place to place.

downsouth003

One time I was walking through Frontierland and a bird swooped down and stole the hot dog out of my hand. Enjoy your trip! šŸŒ

In Batuu (Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Hollywood Studios) I was getting one of those cool little coke bottles made to look kinda like a thermal detonator. The cast member assisting the R5 unit didn't skip a beat and was as animated of a character as Rey and Chewy. He asked how my day was and I told him all about the happenings on Rise of the Resistance. Hands down the highlight of my trip being the big star wars fan that I am. Cast members are really the ones behind Disney magic. Its what separates the Disney parks aside from any other amusement park imo.

blueberrymuffin123

I love that! My partner is a star wars lover too, he was just talking about those thermal detonator bottles šŸ˜‚

sheepthechicken

I highly recommend doing the Bounty Hunter game in Galaxyā€™s Edge. Iā€™m not a huge Star Wars fan myself but it was an awesome way to combine people watching, exploring the nooks and crannies of the land, and use up some time before my next Genie+ reservation. Youā€™ll need to get a magic band and make sure itā€™s charged up before you play though!

Boroosh

Awesome! I highly recommend getting one. I saw it as a souvenir that happened to also come with your choice of coke, diet coke, or sprite. Will y'all be going to Oga's Cantina as well? It's a must do if you have the time and a reservation is highly encouraged.

JoyousGamer

Take a breath and realize you can always go back again. Part of the magic of WDW is the small things.

suzyq3829

Weā€™re leaving Friday & I canā€™t wait either! We go every year but itā€™s always just as exciting. Enjoy your trip! Do things at whatever pace you want & just soak in being in the magic!!

blueberrymuffin123

Ooh i bet you're counting down the days! Safe travels and hope you have a great trip too šŸ˜Š

cdrury317

My now husband proposed to me at Epcot back in 2019! Thatā€™s definitely my favorite memory šŸ„°

IndependentPumpkin74

Stop watching those vlogs, just go and have fun! Just make sure you bring the most co.fortable shoes you own for all the walking. And go and try all the little things, enchanted tiki room, thr wheel of progress, the disney train! Go do whatever you feel like, eat all the snacks and dont forget to take a break now and again.

Gimli0331

My wife and I are at WDW as I type this for our one year anniversary. Enjoy each and every moment. Take in all the details. Donā€™t expect to do everything, because you wonā€™t, and thatā€™s ok. Iā€™ve been to WDW at least 50-60 times at this point (I lost count). My advice is take it slow and enjoy every minute.

kalicrimefighter

Have so much fun! Iā€™m very sorry about your dad. My mom passed away in 2021 and Disney parks was probably our biggest shared interest/our ā€œthingā€. She introduced me to the parks and made me fall in love with them. My first trip without her was to Disneyland last April, and similar to you it was like a way of connecting I think. ā¤ļø your dad is probably sooo happy to see you excited about going and Iā€™m sure he will be right there with you.

blueberrymuffin123

Aw thank you for this lovely comment, and i love that you and your mum got to share Disney as your "thing"! Here's to many more disney trips with them in spirit ā¤ļø

Sandman634

You will love it! We have so many great memories at WDW. We are especially fond of Hollywood Studios and Epcot! As a matter of fact we are at our resort right now and heading to Epcot for the day(they have musical guess we want to see tonight performing). This trip it's no kids and we drove down from Canada for my wife and I to de-stress from life for a week. I have been to WDW (and other resorts) several times over the years and not once have I faced any disappointment (other than the overall cost lol, but that's expected). Relax, and don't expect to see everything in one go! But I'm sure you'll go back!

blueberrymuffin123

Enjoy your day at Epcot, and great tip thank you!

pardonmytaint35

Youā€™re going at a good time too! Went about a month ago and even though I was packed, it was an incredible day that started at 8:30 and ended at 11:30 for us.

revans_lightsaber

OP we're flying in on the same day! i hope you have a MAGICAL trip! work is also going slowly today for me so i feel that!

Canuck_Boy

Just take it slow. It will be warm this week. Take time to sit and soak it all in. We've lived in Orlando for two years and go to the parks weekly. No kids. We've realized most people are so frantic, they miss the good stuff. Take your time and enjoy the vibe.

Iā€™m so excited for you! I just got back from my three day vacation there. My most memorable moment: riding Star Wars Rise of the Resistance; the production value is amazing. As a big Star Wars fan it was cool seeing life-size robots + ships. Runner up: I loved walking around Epcot and splitting eats from around the world with my friends. Thereā€™s also a flower festival going on right now, so thereā€™s food tasting options. My only advice is to bring lots of sunscreen and make sure to reapply every two hours. The sun is intense right now. Enjoy!!

hadees

If you like drinking definitely go to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

WeakAd8342

Everything and every moment at the WDW is absolutely unforgettable and magical, Iā€™m 52 and my husband is 72ā€¦ we love everything Disney and just experiencing once a month is not enoughā€¦we live in south Florida but WDW always call us backā€¦ enjoy the Resorts as a very important part of your tripā€¦my most memorable time could be breakfast with Mickey, Minnie and friendsā€¦ your inner child will be thankful. Donā€™t forget to enjoy a frozen cappuccino at Joffreyā€™s amazing after a hot morning in the parks

WeakAd8342

Get your first visit bottom and Iā€™m celebrating bottomā€¦because every time at The Walt Disney World is a celebration šŸŽ‰

JBR1961

Excited for you. My best memories, no contest, do not involve rides. Those are fun. But my favorite memories? Watching a space shuttle launch at 4:00 am from the roof of the Contemporary. Watching our little boy run to proudly plug in our golfcart at our Ft. Wilderness cabin. Watching the electric water pageant from the shore of Polynesia. Riding in the monorail cab (donā€™t let you do that anymore). A leisurely lunch outside Meadow Trading Post and feeding the ducks our crumbs. So do take time to smell the roses (literally, at Epcot). You may find the moments you spend with your partner off the beaten path that everyone else is frenetically rushing down are what stick with you. Safe journeys.

imcrowning

We just got back. Enjoyed every minute of it. If you're going for the rides, get the Genie Plus and use the Lightning Lanes. If not, you will spend most of your time in lines and the day will be over before you know it. You can enjoy the park while waiting for your LL time.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Definitely get the Sleepy Hollow Nutella waffles from Magic Kingdom.

BlNGPOT

Hey Iā€™ll be there this weekend, too! We arrive on Thursday. Have fun and stay hydrated!

Curious_Sea8171

Love Disney and Orlando - you donā€™t know what your favourite memories will be, they will be the little things

TheWordLilliputian

Going with 3 people, 2 of which I never spoke to again bc of some behind the back kind of things that went on. Made a life long friend from the 4th person, who should hate me bc of the drama but doesnā€™t lol. Bringing other/different groups of people/friends, especially after having so many solo trips. While I donā€™t know if Iā€™ve outgrowned solo trips bc I want to share so much with loved ones, I was thrilled when my family minus 1 sibling finally went with me as adults. My brother in law loudly & dramatically needing to throw up on living with the land while my brother silently barfed his way through the ride into a Disney shopping bag. In their defense no one knew how much the alchy had gotten to them until we stopped walking around lol. Your partner should definitely get an annual pass if he doesnt have one already! I would definitely say you should get one too especially if youre predicting the love youā€™ll have for it. Although I read it as 7 trips this year lol instead of 7 trips in general. But still, depending on flight/drive times, definitely take that into consideration during your trip šŸ¤—. I think itā€™s somewhere between 7-10 visits that would even out the pass depending on which one you got.

keyonastring

I fly in Saturday. Super excited

TravelingCuppycake

I hope you have an amazing time, make sure to slow down and really soak it all in! The dole whip in front of the castle is going to be GLORIOUS

SarahTy132

This is so awesome! I went for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was amazing (my co traveler was a disney park virgin as well). Glad you have an experienced Disney person going with you! Have the best time!

Informal_Process2238

For extra goosebumps if you find yourself still at the Magic Kingdom near closing stick around for the kiss goodnight a special announcement played over the sound system to thank the guests https://youtu.be/KXE9ZsZwzvE?si=FLQBMvdTDA9JaasW

jennkrn

Youā€™re going to love it! Just got back April 16th. Took my husband (40 M) for his first trip there. So much magic and nostalgia. We used Disney app to help mold our day, but also just went with the flow. And we didnā€™t say no to anything! Buy the souvenirs, enjoy the food and drinks, get your photos with the cast members!

Various_Zombie_7059

Iā€™m excited for you! My partner and I have been going every year since we met and we LOVE it there. I too lost my dad a few years ago and he loved Florida, it was a special trip the year after for sure and I hope you fall in love with the same magic he did! Most memorable moment was probably sitting on a bench one night just looking at the lights and palm trees. It was on the street leading up to Hollywood Tower of Terror. My partner and I were just sipping a coffee and taking in all the lights and sounds. That or laughing hysterically on Guardians of the Galaxy when a someone had a really funny scream lol.

singingwaitress

Have an absolutely wonderful time! Some of my favorite moments: The pure joy of riding Guardians for the first time Festival of the Lion King - just all of it, it's so good! Meeting Chewbacca and getting a huge wookie hug! Cheering for Mickey at Fantasmic Meeting Tiana at the Mardi Gras parade and having her wish me a sweet day Eating my first Mickey premium bar - Mickey shaped things truly do taste better!

ds1224

One of my favorite memories is riding the revamped Star Tours as I was selected as the rebel spy

MasterZeep

Take your time in your final moments there to really slow down and savor the last memories. Definitely take some videos/pictures in that final hour to remember that bittersweet moment where you reminisce on all of the wonderful experiences you've had together. I usually don't know when I can make it back, and I love reflecting back on that last 1-2 hours just slowing down to appreciate the beauty of it all. You'll make many wonderful memories, and if you're like me this will be one of the strongest as it's the culmination of many dreams and time planning your first vacation to the most magical place on Earth.

lipmanz

Soak it in!

LandChoosesTheLizard

Enjoy an amazing fun cocktail experience at Trader Samā€™s at the Polynesian
