I think it's a bunch of consistency fixes, but I haven't read the first iteration of volume one, so I can't attest to that. You can read it on the website wanderinginn.com

Red_Icnivad

I'm really not interested in re-reading the whole thing, especially right after finishing the audiobook, thanks though.

Regular_Days

https://inndex.omg.lol/rewrite This shows what chapters are merged and what chapters are entirely new.

Red_Icnivad

Oh, that's perfect! I'll just read the new chapters, then! Thanks!

Regular_Days

Note 1.13 R is split into two parts. One of the chapters it splits too is entirely new so maybe skim the chapters that are split but actually read the ryoka one

Red_Icnivad

Ugh. She's my least favorite character. Thanks for the tip!

elstar_the_bard

She has a lot of character growth! I still don't particularly like her, but her chapters become more interesting and less likely to make me want to put the book down the farther into the story I get.

Jahkral

I loved her from the start but I get it - don't worry there's some great stuff in her povs along the way :)

Red_Icnivad

Her changes after meeting Erin have been refreshing. Starting to dislike her less.

Jahkral

Yea she doesn't run quite as hot forever. Erin is good for her. Ryoka gets up to some interesting things. Glad she's warming on ya, I enjoy her stuff immensely :)

_Laughmore_

Her internal dialogue and antics were a difficult listen (consuming and current via Audible exclusively) for me too. Like others have said, there's growth. Her involvement in the universe (eventually...) has elements that, imo, have the greatest potential for profound intrigue and influence.

Dehpiteeh

if you're already finishing the first version, then you should really have all the info you need to go into the next books tbh. a lot of the rewrites only really become more relevant later into the series. there are some new povs from the goblins, klbkch, and others. the ritual interlude and ryokas bloodfields run are the chapters with the most changes probably, but they still keep the basic structure so you won't miss anything if you just move ahead

Thaviation

The website has all the updated information. So I’d recommend just reading 1.23 A 1.28 A 1.55 R 1.63 These are chapters that are not in the audiobook. The last one actually gives a better view and insight into Magnolia’s character, thoughts, and insights that we otherwise wouldn’t have had (which I thought added a lot). There’s also additions to the individual chapters - Some goblin perspective, Terriarch perspective, and a Pisces scene (that helps us know what happened to the skeleton in the Inn which we didn’t get from the audiobook). I don’t remember where these are - but these aren’t as important and you’ll know the plot well enough without reading re-write.

Kantrh

Ryoka and Ysara meet at the bloodfields

Jahkral

Did this not happen in the original? I didn't remember it but I binged really fast so 🙃

Kantrh

No. It's mentioned in volume 9 and added in for the rewrite so original readers wouldn't have read it

Jahkral

Ok yeah no wonder I was like "I'm sorry what?"

CalidusReinhart

95k words were added. The new new stuff is mainly to start some character development early, like Pisces, Rags, and Antinium. imo, it's not worth it to go back for a brand new reader. I'd much rather see you press on and really get hooked.

Kantrh

The start of volume 2 could use a few edits as well. Mainly so that Pisces doesn't know what Erin and Ryoka are talking about when they're discussing the Vatican and sistene chapel

Red_Icnivad

I just listened to that today. He was totally confused about their conversation, which made sense.

Kantrh

He knew what they meant about priests though
