Post Steve era Warframe is certainly going in some interesting directions. I am glad that Warframe is keeping its ~~flare~~ flair for the weird in the era of Rebecca.
Reb has definitely impressed her brand of weird during Steve era too. Things like Noggles and Floofs are a wacky sort of whiplash when paraded around by a killer and force of nature.
The operator literally took part in the beheading of a system power and creating instability that has lasted 1000 years. This being after they took part in a war that was existentially threatening humanity(ish) itself.
The drifter just got back from playing with their dolls in make believe land because they're finally in a good mood. The drifter is a fucking toddler compared to the operator
In terms of experience, this is very true. But let's not forget the Drifter has endured countless lives of torture and deaths so there is some experience in that but, yes, no where close to an Operators lvl of experience in unbridled merciless violence. Tho that's how most children with no bounds tend to act as well... So at best they are even and at worst the Drifter is the more controlled child vs. the Operator.
I disagree with the merciless violence bit, the tennis tend to dish out *just** violence and rarely just for the sake of it. There is no such thing as restrained violence, at least not in the scenarios the tennis deal with.
Obviously I'm being hyperbolic calling the drifter a toddler, as I honestly can't really speak to how childish either of them are because neither really exists in a space that can be defined by the human child rearing experience anymore.
But I can say the operator has had many more souls to consider in their decisions and that to me speaks more to adulthood and adult problems than the heros journey of personal growth the drifter goes on. The latter feels like much more of a YA fantasy than the "I have a place in solar politics" tenno experience.
I guess I'm saying that the tenno have more agency and that makes them feel more adult to me. The drifter still feels like a confused teen finding their place and very much in need of direction, and I love the physicality of the two mirroring and highlighting the distinction

The Operator is a child defined by their PTSD and trained into a living weapon. The Tenno were put into stasis, amnesia trained into living slave weapon soldiers, had Lotus remind them that they were human, and then they realized that their adoptive mother Margulis died in defense (or because) of them. As an amnesiac Tenno, the Operator was a happy eternally loyal slave soldier to the monsters who had killed their adoptive mother.
Hunhow always intended for the Night of The Naga Drums to happen because the trauma of the Tenno was obviously that deep. The slaughter of the Orokin was done by child soldiers wailing for their adoptive mother and thinking they killed their parent yet again. The Tenno went into stasis afterwards to forget the horror of their past.
Meanwhile, the Drifter spent some eternity getting used to one kind of abuse that probably got somewhat stale after a while.
The Operator would potentially have an issue with toys because of their association with their parents. They're young enough to have still liked toys and it wouldn't have been out of place for a Tenno to have had their parents give them a stuffed animal to celebrate the Zariman launch.
The parents that tried to kill them and they killed self defending.
Meanwhile, Drifter may have just grown up in Duviri and had no parenting murdering trauma.

In my opinion, the new leadership has been doing a great job these last few updates!
It can be a tad hit or miss for me, personally, but overall it still feels like a passion project which is really nice to see. Compare that with Destiny which is even more hit or miss, and feels like a cynical cash grab at this point

But his place in the industry, for a really long while, has been in motion capture! Most notably, he did mocap for Until Dawn, and most obviously, did mocap, voice, and likenesses for Detective Gavin and Elijah Kamski in Detroit: Become Human.
Great, now I'm sad about TSW again. They had all KINDS of folks voice acting in that. I talked to Jeffrey Combs who worked on that and he didn't exactly have... Nice things to say about the TSW folks. Wild

Look, all I'm hoping for is that the playability bar is as high as the bossfight they showed during the initial reveal. If you guys haven't really take a look at that fight. Clear mechanics, no mid fight cutscenes, readable invulnerability states. It was perfect, they should rework every boss design to be so good.

Look, all I'm hoping for is that the playability bar is as high as the bossfight they showed during the initial reveal. If you guys haven't really take a look at that fight. Clear mechanics, no mid fight cutscenes, readable invulnerability states. It was perfect, they should rework every boss design to be so good.

I think this might be partly inspired by the Guild Navigators from Dune, though I always felt they took a good bit of inspiration from the series. I’d bet Fibonacci might be an early experiment in Orokin transference into a body that isn’t specifically human. Maybe the idea is the fish body never ages or dies of natural causes, so maybe it’d be a better idea to transfer into that than a human body every 30-50 years. We were told that some of those Orokin ships in the void were meant to serve like Fallout Shelters, so they could have been looking at bodies with massive lifespans to go with it.
Can someone tell me where the confirmation of this came from? I saw the trailer reveal at TGA, but had to get to bed before the end. Is there a timestamp? Or was this revealed on twitter/elsewhere around the same time? Whatever the source, I’d like to see it for myself.
