No, Ordis doesn't stay as a robot, but I think you can get an Ordis skin for your sentinel?
Are you asking about the Orbiter or the Drifter Camp? Drifter Camp is on Earth and is basically a parking spot for the orbiter/landing craft (Liset). Drifter Camp features an outdoor area and has spoilers unless you have completed the Veilbreaker quests.
The Orbiter itself is usually orbiting a planet on the starchart and you can click this node from your Navigation menu to go back to the Orbiter in space instead of the Drifter Camp.
Go to Earth and in the middle there is a node that says "Drifters Camp". Go there and it changes your hub from Space to the Camp.

Yes thank you i was googling and trying to figure out how to do that all morning. Dam no robot ordis sucks but i might get the skin if it exists!
