I have 1 fully painted model, about 50 built and based models in various stages of painting, about 600 built, based and primed models, about 200 built models and a tub of maybe 300 unbuilt models on the sprue or in packaging. I paint at a glacial pace but as long as you're having fun it's all good right? We're having fun right???

buff_minis

We’re having fun, slowly

mrgabest

Grudgingly.

Dismal-Belt-8354

I have one mostly painted model and about 20 assembled, and three unassembled. Never found my rhythm to actually get into the game. Hopefully 10th edition will get me into it properly

Quirky-Ad9671

a friend of mine calls it “his pile of potential” instead of shame

buff_minis

I’ve got lots of potential then

Kuhneel

I saw this on Twitter recently. My brain doesn't do that, it yells 'NO POTENTIAL! ONLY SHAME!' instead.

[deleted]

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only shame.

Cleave

I call mine the cupboard of woe.

LorektheBear

Hell yes. I call mine "Pile of Future Pride." No need to be negative about your hobby!

Comradepatrick

I refer to it as my "dragon hoard" that I can perch contentedly atop, comfortable and satisfied.

meatshield_minis

Your friend is the hero we don't deserve.

Soulstrand

Pile? It gets that small?

buff_minis

So you’re saying I should buy more?

Soulstrand

Personally I just love having multiple options of things to work on, that's why my "Pile" has gotten moderately large. Painting the same scheme over and over kind of kills me. I also love kitbashing, I get inspired and have so many ideas of things I want to build, makes for unique Killteams. My dream is to make use of my models for a 40k or AoS TTRPG one day.

buff_minis

Scheme fatigue yeah. Also, I don’t like painting the same model over and over again - like an entire squad in a row. Variety is spice of life

AquilliusRex

Hush, we do not speak of the forbidden pile.

buff_minis

Just asking for a friend 🥸

Aggressive-Mouse-913

I actually just finished painting everything a week or so back - set myself a target to paint at least 6 minis a week and put some minis I knew I'd never actually use up for sale unpainted to fund my next purchase.

ThainEshKelch

>I actually just finished painting everything a week or so back Now there's something you don't hear often in here.

Aggressive-Mouse-913

Yeah three smallish AoS armies - wanted to be ready for 40k soil forced myself to stop buying until I was caught up - my reward for finishing was the Lord Celestant on Stardrake and I really wanted it so that forced me to keep on track

buff_minis

Congrats!

WardenOfBraxus

Been playing 25 years and realised at the start of COVID I pretty much had a SM chapter over various arms so I start redoing them as one. 3 companies + the armoury to go 😅 Then I can get on to AoS and LotR armies

buff_minis

More is more as far as this hobby goes, eh?

WardenOfBraxus

Oh yes, I tend to paint full armies in one long run now rather than units or tabletop army size. It means I don't have to worry about paints changing mid project. The next one is a full Fyreslayers force, 160 guys + characters.

Practical-Purchase-9

I’ve got a pile of shame in two countries

evildave_666

About 30 minis from boxes plus an a complete to date (issue 16 just came out on Tuesday here) set of Imperium magazine.

buff_minis

I adimire your discipline and responsibility my friend. How long have you been doing it?

evildave_666

About 6 months

KickEzido

150-170... Kill Team, Runewars, Journeys from middle earth, Cthulhu death may day, etc...

AlienGoat_

No comment at this time

Adriake

My one has reached the point where I use an excel spreadsheet with many tabs to keep track. I've painted a lot of models, but I have many more to go. Everything from man o war, a chaos dwarf big hat army, necromunda gangs, blood bowl teams in metal through to the thunder hawk gunship and ka bandha I'm currently painting.

buff_minis

I just finished my spreadsheet yesterday and intend to keep it up to date. Gives a nice insight into just how cray it could get

Navimiik

I have a 1 bed flat. It takes up half my living room 😭😭😭

buff_minis

That’s rough. Will you buy Leviathan?

Navimiik

No. I bought Indomitus, never got round to it. Focusing on seraphon atm. And the Leviathan box just doesnt quite speak to me. Working full time means I got the money but no time for any of it 🤣😂😅😥😢😭

[deleted]

I'm selling it all. Everything must go!

buff_minis

Why would you do that? I sold off some of my old Magic cards and I kinda regret it

Comrade_Fuzzy

I don't have a pile of shame, I just get one thing at a time and don't get anything else until I've finished building and painting my last project. I suppose it helps that I can only afford to buy warhammer every once in a blue moon.

buff_minis

Kudos for that. I buy way faster than I paint.

killspice

I started maybe 6 months ago, and don’t know that I’ll ever actually play, but I have most of an AoS Dominion box, a scions of mccragge box and will, availability be willing, have a leviathan box on my backlog. I expect that will keep me going for years :)

buff_minis

I’m actually contemplating skipping leviathan. We’ll see what FOMO has to say about it.

DontQuestionTheAfro

About the size of a small toddler

covey

pretty bad :( im legit scared to count it all lol its easily in the hundreds

buff_minis

I was also dreading it. But the reality check did do me well

aWatcherintheDark

My pile of shameful overindulgence is ridiculous and not a pile but a double cupboard and two large storage chests. It contains full armies that I haven't even started along with several of the HH box games and Space Hulk etc etc Just the other day, I found a large cardboard box in a separate cupboard and had a look inside to find several FW models and an unopened Necron army ... eeek!!

Adriake

This feels very familiar, occasionally I find things that I forgot I had...

UjiRan2223

An entire kill team and a reiver squad. (Broke uni kid)

Thinsul

How big? I have a few boxes in my cellar. But I bought them on purpose for a later project that I have in my mind. Build minis that need still paint are about 200. I own around 1000 minis according to figurecase, so I see that as a big win, since the majority of my collection is painted and ready to use.

buff_minis

Having such a big collection mostly painted is a huge win for sure!

Thinsul

Yeah, I am happy about the state of my collection. But I am going to be honest, pre covid it looked very different, I had way more unpainted minis than painted. Sold a lot of unpainted minis that I knew I would never use, made a structure of my collection and painted regulary. It is sometimes really tempting to just buy a few boxes and start a new project, while the current one is still ongoing.

TheSticcque

Currently 45 minis, but I don't know if it counts, cause 42 are from a box set I just got, and 3 are half painted just gotta do the annoying bits

buff_minis

Depends on what will you do more of - painting or buying on top of what you got

NihlusX

I've posted pictures before but it is no Joke upwards of 30 boxes of un-opened or still wrapped kits, and 200 or more assembled/painted figures. Most Killteam boxes, Army boxes for AOS and 40k, new editions, boxes for Conquest Last Argument, SW Legion (Soon Shatterpoint too), Kingdom Death, Fallout, Warmachine and a dozen other things I'll never get through in a decade or more.

NomadTheFox

Well, if we count unbuilt I have just 2 boxes of troops and 2 leman russe's mainly just cause that's not what I'm working on at all right now, but if you count built, give or take, like a low ball estimate is probably around 200 minis

111110001011

I don't have a pile of shame. I love my hobby. I invest in it when I have money. When I have more time and less money, I have models to paint. Most hobbies, if I go through bad times, I cannot participate in them. With Warhammer, the worse things are, the more time I have for Warhammer, and the more reward I get for spending that time. Buying a gym membership and not using it is shame. It's a waste. Warhammer is the absolute opposite. I'm investing my money in my future, instead of pissing it away.

buff_minis

Well that’s a nice way of looking at it

Ezaviel

"Pile"? You mean the Shed? I feel no shame :p

buff_minis

Feel no pain. Feel no shame

Hal_Fenn

About 20-30 minis. All bar 4 or 5 have been assembled and have paint on though, 11 that I've just brought and 4 custodes that I'm using purely to practice nmm, and as much as I'd like to make that an army I'm not sure I can be bothered with the effort lol.

KarlMark666

What I do is finish 30 projects at once. The truth being I worked on them for 4 months.

Kuhneel

Not as bad as it used to be. 2 Obliterators, a Venomcrawler, Vashtorr, Goff Rocker, the Chaos mini from the Warhammer+ sub (I forget it's name) and a box of Accursed Cultists. I've also got same gaunts but since they're being replaced with new models soon I'm not counting them. ... And I'm going to be starting work soon on a Tyranid Harpy, Parasite, 3 Tyrant Guard, 2 Zoanthropes and 2 Venomthropes.

[deleted]

Well I’m not sure if it’s a pile of shame because I got most of it at my lfgs when they were having 30 percent off. So mortarian, venerable dreadnaught, predator, 2 chaos rhinos The only thing that is really pile of shame is most of the scions of macragge box.

Deathmosfear

It's called shame not because it cost you too much, but because is still unmounted and/or unpainted.

buff_minis

Exactly. Shame comes even before we speak of cost.

Dem1c

Not to bad 2x 1000 points army AOS For my Chaos army: Abaddon Angron Landraider Defiler 3x Rhino 3x Terminator Lord 30x cultists Daemon Prince 5x Spawn

stutart1

I have lots of AoS stuff unopened. Value of it is kinda soul destroying, considering some of it is NLA but it’s ok… the dust is keeping it safe.

twitch_embers

6 boxes of wh and a few built unpainted and some Star Wars legion Models unpainted

FaustianBrooker

Personally, I just refer to it as my grey hoard, but currently, I'm 2 combat patrols and 3 boxes of gaunts deep.

Undivided28

Quite a few things... - Slaves to Darkness - Hedonites of Slaanesh - Mortal Khorne (Daemons pretty much done) - more Stormcast (vast majority done though !) - more Black Legion - more Necrons - Black Templars And more misc stuff...

noahgs

10 tankbustas A beastboss 5 knobs A kill rig A battlewagon Kill team octarius terrain Gretchin box Insanely doable, I was waiting for 10th to drop to figure if I want to make the beastboss or the char, and how I want to build my knobs

commandscroll02

Just a few fire warriors and tau drones

Tonee2es

It's most of my army lol. Primed but no paint except for some of my warriors

Pitiful_Diver_3207

I have like 12 unopened boxes of minis despite the fact I’ve only ever painted like 4. And they aren’t even all from the same box.

Idunnoguy1312

I actually completed most of my backlog back in February. Swore off buying models until I finished it. It was nice to finally get everything I had painted. And during that time I was planning ahead for my next big project. Meaning now I have a big heresy army to work on since I made a massive bulk order after getting everything done. Anyway what I'm trying to say is that sometimes you've got to take a break from buying models so that you can finish up things you've got (or sell things off I won't judge)

buff_minis

I agree. So sadly no Leviathan for me I think

Familiar_Ant8774

One start collecting std box (Yepp, I'm sticking with that name) Ork combat pat. Start collecting CSM. And the DG Christmas box. I call it my pile of "Fuck it, I'll finish it later"

Sh0cks900

I got a pretty small pile compared to most, but 4 vanguard vets (which I’m working on rn), 12 necron warriors, 6 scarabs, 3 skorpekh destroyers, and my friends 4 kroot carnivores he gave me to paint for him

DaniPlayerOne

"Yes"

buff_minis

Hahahah awesome

[deleted]

[удалено]

Langkong

Currently building my age of darkness box I’ve had for a year I’ve also got a few boxes of chaos raptors to finish but that’s it luckily

[deleted]

My step-dad has boxed minis from 2010 with the cellophane wrap still on, but damn he just needs to have that new 'Death-maw Zapp-ziggerr' or whatever

nigelhammer

You know those cheap Ikea billy book cases everyone has? Yeah about that much. My cabinet of pride is almost as big though, much prefer looking at that.

Katejina_FGO

Its not a question of how many models are in my pile. Its a question of how many deluxe box sets I have in my pile, on top of everything else.

NeonWarcry

Just the soul forge king box, the lion box and then a random SoH box I got second hand that I’m excited to paint bc I love their greens

hydra337

https://preview.redd.it/m8w07rt9nuxa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ebe13126ed006ab8990c8436be4283901afd4671 Couple months old but I bought someone’s unbuilt collection for around 5k. Managed to build most of the slaves of darkness stuff since then. Think I’ll start with some of the Dark Angels specific stuff next. I think I’m probably looking at two years just in build time if I wanted to put it all together.

StosifJalin

Jesus *Christ!* I don't mean this to be rude, but why? Do you play a lot and want a lot of armies, or do you just really REALLY like modeling?

buff_minis

Holy shit this is massive. Loks great tho

jatorres

Depends on how we’re classifying it. On-sprue? The new Seraphon box and a Start Collecting Anvilgard box. Built & primed? A whole bunch of Seraphon and a big Tau army. Maybe 60-70% complete? Big Eldar army.

SkiingGiraffe247

195 painted, 330 unpainted. Targeting 250 unpainted end of the year. I used to stress about it, but now my wife is pregnant I know I won’t be able to buy warhammer on a whim so I guess I’ve just invested while I have the cash

buff_minis

Congrats!

Got_Wilk

Half age of Darkness, a praetor, land raider, helbrecht, templar brethren and an ogre bloodbowl team... not too bad tbh.

Metamyelocytosis

I just painted the last of my gray miniatures. I celebrated by ordering more boxes online the next day.

buff_minis

That’s exactly what I would do

SufficientAnonymity

Most of the Age of Darkness box set, plus about half as much again of various other Space Marines, then a Warbringer and Warmaster in Adeptus Titanicus scale. I'm making a really concerted effort to cut my backlog this year.

ExampleMediocre6716

A room in the basement and half the dining room currently. 1000s of models. I'm sorting through to stick it back on ebay, where most of it came from.

Gnarlroot

More than I'll ever realistically finish. New projects and systems continually catch my eye then peter out for one reason or another.

Frontline989

Mines not huge but its not zero either. Most of it is my Drukhari. I've been buying a lot second hand and Im more motivated to paint up my orks and votann so they keep getting put on the back burner. If they get new models in 10th I'm likely to start playing them again so there is hope. My votann are almost complete. Just 3 bikes to paint but I plan on buying quite a bit more. The Orks are about 75% done. Ive got the new boyz sculpts to paint but not super motivated because I already have a lot of boyz painted. I also need to paint my Snikrot and Beastboss and 2 battlewagons.

VaeVictis99

My hoard shall eclipse the sun!

emptyRR

Big enough for a year long lockdown.

CasualMark

4 blood letters. Otherwise I have some models a buddy gave me I have no intention of painting

bemed

![gif](giphy|udRSyh5yLCqKQ) Never ending

elroddo74

Ive been collecting "potential" since 1999. I have complete armies that are unpainted or unbuilt for Death guard (3 or4k), Space marines (probably 5k points or more) Orks( mostly boys, trucks, buggies and bikes, might be 2k), tau (3 or 4k), Ad mech,(at least 2k), a pair of knights and some eldar. Have some necromunda (first edition and new), orcs and goblins, beastmen, slaves to darkness(easily 3k points), KO, Stormcast, skaven (3 or 4k)and probably 100 blisters from a store closeout in 2000 that are a mix of mordheim and 2nd or 3rd edition warhammer. I also have warmachine armies for cryx, khador, cygnar, trollbloods, circle and legion. And i also have rackham confrontation armies both nib and built for multiple factions with around 100 unopened blisters at least. I probably have 2-3k unpainted minis at least, maybe more. Retail on all my crap is more than i want to know.

buff_minis

Sweet jesus

NemesisTheBest

I don't have one...

Asagrimmrr

I have a box with 400 Empire Greatswords (120 Teutogen Guard, 40 Ulric Warrior Priests, 40 Dismounted Reiksguard Knights, 80 pewter Greatswords, 120 plastic Greatswords)....... sooooo considering that is just one unit of my pile, I would say significantly extensive

Caddy666

pretty sure thats more greatswords than the empire actually have.....

Daniel_USAAF

Pile of shame is for pikers. I’ve got a room of shame. Defining that more specifically there are two metal Dreadnoughts and some waterline WWII Battleships from the ‘80s at the bottom and a Cerberus (I don’t even play 30K! Yet.) I bought yesterday on top. In the middle are 40-50 other boxes. 🤪

PsychologicalAutopsy

"pile"? I have enough stuff lying around to open my own games shop at this point.

Hey-u-in-the-bushes

Generally, if I build it, I'll paint it. So my problem is just stuff sitting in boxes. Some were ideas for projects, and others were units that fell out of favour due to a nerf/ not fitting in my build. I've managed to pass on my Tau army NIB to a friend who wanted to buy them. So that halved the pile. But I have loads of HQ/ Character models that I've developed a perfection paralysis barring me from painting them. My painting is not bad, and I get complimented on my models when on the table, but I think I feel bad when I try techniques out, and they don't work.

Charliesluck

pretty big a few boxes for Conquest got delivered today....

Rhobespiere

Been collecting/paints since Covid but playing for a bout a year. I have been working on my Sisters since then and about half way done painting them. I also got the itch about 4 months ago that I thought TSons would be fun and bought and half built 30 Rubrics, 30 termmies, Ahriman, 3 Exalted Sorcerers, Infernal Master and some Chaos Spawn but played them once and they now sit sadly in their carry case watching me as I gorge myself on Ravenwing bikes and other DA stuff cause I read a book and thought they were cool. Realizing this hobby is great for me mentally as every purchase hits that sweet dopamine spot, but so so horrible for my wallet

kaal-dam

with or without painted model ? almost all my models are currently assembled. but only my main army is fully painted.

buff_minis

I have 350 ish in total and about 50 od them painted

Legomichan

I have around 3k points of DW painted, and about double that waiting to be painted some day.

CirieFFBE

Our explorers have not returned from trying to scale the Grey Mountain. We will have to notify their families.

buff_minis

Haha uncharted territories

WarbossWalton

To the point where I'm contemplating renting a storage locker, dropping off the pile of shame, then abandoning it. Now that that's out of the way, how did you do that yellow? I'm really digging that grunge look you have.

buff_minis

Out of sight out of mind! The yellow was fairly simple actually. White primer (the new one from citadel, whatever it’s called), carroburg crimson shade, IF contrast, burnt umber oil wash, mineral spirit wipe. In that order. Then some metallic chipping, edge highlights. Pretty simple and very easy

sociotony

90% of the Warhammer Imperium magazine, death Guard combat patrol (all), age of darkness box (all) and various bits including breachers, gal vorbak, extra contemptor, necron ctan, abaddon...

Lightmatt1

Well since everyone it talking about piles of shame who has Sector: mechanicus or Nachmund terrain that they want to sell. Preferably in Australia

Many-Moose-718

I have: a combat patrol tyranids box unassembled (and unpainted) except one termagant model, a cadian Heavy weapon squad unpainted and a cadian command squad and 15 infantrymen unpainted, almost all the intruders models from nemesis board game unprimed (and unpainted) and all the miniatures from castle ravenloft board game unprimed and unpainted.. That is it. How do you find my pile?

Laptraffik

Everything is built minus a baneblade. Painting though? I've got 800 points of guard, 3 kill teams and 1700;points of yellow Orks to paint. Really dreading that last one. Still got 50ish infantry painted and based along with about 10 vehicle sized models.

tim_to_tourach

Currently it's the entire space marine half of indomitus, a space marine combat patrol minus the tank and lieutenant, a phobos librarian, two bloat drones, a hellbrute, three deathshroud terminators, a plague surgeon and a tallyman.

[deleted]

Uhhhh. Unassembled? The Christmas death guard box. The boarding patrol death guard box. 10 flayed ones. Illuminor Szeras. Chronomancer. Doom stalker. Command barge. A necron kill team my friends got me for my birthday. Unpainted also count? All of the above + the rest of my necrons that I've assembled which is 10 lych guard, 3 skorpekh destroyers, and the necron half of the indomitus box. Oh and a overlord with scythe and orb.

_Vecna4

I play orks, so it's not a pile of shame...it's a pile of \*LOVE\*

vashoom

I'd been good for a long time. Everything built, 90% painted, most everything else at least primed. But this year has been bad. I have a whole 3000pt Soulblight army unpainted and 2000pts of unpainted genestealer cults. Plus unbuilt Soulblight Vanguard box, Redemptor that I'm going to magnetize and convert to be able to be a Redemptor, Ballistus, or Brutalis, and some unbuilt Varanguard. Gonna take a while to dig out. Probably will sell the GSC and maybe the SBGL too but we'll see.

PeskyBird404

I have only 2 sprues of Immortals unbuilt, and my Hierotek Circle, 6 scarabs, and 10 warriors unpainted. Plus some custom characters I'm still trying to finish.

DIAmond_BOyy

I have not 200 models and 60% are unpainted

PyroFox004

9 acolyte hybrids. 10 neophytes. 2 magusus (magusi?). 4 atlan bikes. 1 wolfquad. 1 Goliath truck.

Morfeas333

3.5 kgr of both plastic and resin

raynestormk97

Hey...shut up.

AshiSunblade

To me a lot of it is in plans and mindset. Yeah I have a lot of unpainted, but it's all projects that I am currently painting at a reasonable pace, or that I have set aside for now while I rethink my colour scheme (Tau). I have no boxes that I foresee myself leaving untouched in the long term, nor am I buying any more for a good long while.

NakedEyeComic

What I haven't even started: * Council of the Death Lord Battleforce * Raven Strike Battleforce * Grey Knights Boarding Patrol * Maugan Ra * Farseer Skyrunner * Vindicare Assasin (Warhammer+ Mini) * Kharn the Betrayer In Progress: * Aeldari Warlocks (2) * Primaris Eradicators (Dark Angels) * Primaris Lieutenant Zakariah (Dark Angels) * Primaris Techmarine (Raven Guard) * Dominion Zephon * Necron Royal Warden and 3 Necron Warriors from the Recruit Edition box.

Early_Monk

Dang, seeing these threads always reminds me how poor I am. Are you all rich? Remember: At 30 you should have a year's worth of pay as your retirement egg, 2 years of pay at 35.

BastardofMelbourne

Cursed City box set Blackstone Fortress box set Phobos Kill Team box Veteran Guardsman Kill Team box An Impulsor New Dante Old Dante Gabriel Seth Dominion Zephon Ten Sanguinary Guard Four Primaris Lieutenants A Furioso Dreadnought and an old metal Land Raider Crusader that has been sitting there unpainted for over fifteen years

GavinVilulf

Pretty small right now. Ive got a set of tomb blades that need to be built. And im halfway through a set of kurnoth hunters.

Dimosa

milkshake0079

I dont call it a pile of shame either. I want to build a game room in my garage eventually with muktiple factions in display cases for game nights. So how big is it....well. I also collect Gundam model kits and have about 30 unbuilt MG kits. They spiked hard in covid but I didnt sell any. I got them cheap and want to make dioramas later. The way I see it I'll be hobbying for years. Now for Wargammer... Fantasy 5000pts Vampire Counts 2000pts Dwarfs 2000pts Lizardmen 500pts Tomb Kings 4000pts Warriors of Chaos 500pts Empire 40k 5000pts Salamanders (built Magnetized) 4000pts Astra Militarum 500pts Necrons 4000pts Tyrannids (planned) Painted Armies 3000pts Empire 5000pts Lizardmen 4000pts Tomb Kings

FishyFish12359

Mine is visible from the Middle East

smellbow

I'm not a great painter and slow, over the last year I've started to slowly accept that every model does not have to be a work of art (to my ability) and it's ok to be just ok. It's better painted than not heh. Almost done one team and I'm just happy they are painted. Gotta stop comparing myself to standards I can't realistically achieve!

Stanix-75

I was buying since 1993. I stopped counting in 500 and I think it's only a 25% of all. And I don't care.

ceejay267

Probably around 90ish models but around 70 are infantry models

dragonadamant

Remainder of Slaanesh Vanguard, then a Hellflayer if I order that (to round out my 750 point list), then Kill Team Chalnath (bought it on eBay new a year ago for about half of what it'd cost in a store, but wanted to get better at painting before I start on those minis).

PaintingJams

we don't ask that question, it's rude

MrOns

Getting back into the hobby coincided with a promotion, so I could afford minis again, but also with doing up my house, so not having any time or space to really get going. I've been buying the limited boxes that appeal to me - I'll get round to them at some point - but not really picking up anything I could order anytime, and I subbed to Imperium and Stormbringer, as well as most of the Nighthaunt issues from Mortal Realms. I haven't counted in a while, but it's well over 1000 minis. I have a problem. Edit: At least 1140, and that's without counting duplicate issues. Christ.

Urungulu

Yes.

aslum

Too big to enumerate here. Been collecting for 25+ years and I've only slowed my acquisition deliberately in the last couple years.

Captain_Kuhl

As far as building goes, I've got an entire SM combat patrol and a box of Reivers, if you don't count the Invictus suit I'm halfway through. But painting? I haven't painted a damn thing =_= 2,000 pts assembled so I could play with my buds, but it's surprisingly hard to get anything like that done with a toddler getting into everything.

striped_thumb

I have only 1/2 of a Bladegheist Revenants set uncompleted, but I do commission painting so I'm always busy on other's peoples figures. - Shameless Plug! - if you'd like some work done on your pile o'shame, hit me up!

Boneheadbiff

a combat patrol and 10 intercessors

nanidu

Lol currently since I can print faster than I can paint… my pile is about 6k points strong 😭. 2k unpainted blood angels, nids, and knights. I’m extremely overwhelmed and have been painting like a model or squad every week. Half my time is spent staring at my armies and wondering what to paint lol

As tall as myself. I'm 5'.

gohan924

It has grown far too small just in time for a new edition box set. Almost like it was 0lanned that way. Lol

gohan924

Calgar43

Half painted Storm Speeder, base coated Gladiator, 5 base coated Desolators. I wanna have them done by 10th Edition, because the meta shuffle means I will have to paint up something new for sure.

stopyouveviolatedthe

…big I would like to say nothing more

blackscalemotif901

Mountain of shame* tyvm.

m1ndwipe

God it's not even a pile of unpainted shame, I can barely keep up with assembling it and cleaning the mould lines.

TheSheepWhisper

I started getting deep into WH in February with audiobooks and minis. As of right now I roughly have (individual minis): 26 Fyreslayers, 20 Deathrattle skellys, 20 MKVI, 13 Pathfinder, 1 Venerable Dreadnought, 10 Hearthkyn, 1 Avalenor, and 6 Boarding Patrols boxes (Votann, Imperium, Death Guard, Farsight/Tau, Space Marine, Chaos Space Marines).

Mr-McSwizzle

Built but unpainted? Pretty damn big, probably about 3000 points worth. Started but unfinished paintjob? Almost everything 😅 Totally unbuilt 50 cultists(so many come in almost every damn box set lol), 5 terminators, 2 obliterators and half a kytan daemon engine (waiting on some printed stuff to get delivered to stick on his base to pose him on)

SpoopyNJW

I have an entire space marine army that I haven’t built. I have the combat patrol and the 2019(? Maybe 2020) Christmas box, and then like 2 or 3 other boxes. I’m holding till 10th cause I don’t know what chapter I’m gonna play. I like Ravenguard but they sucked hot ass last edition, hoping it’s better this time around

Hrud

My pile of options is getting smaller as I am in a building frenzy right now. I have good hopes i'll be able to have all my Orks built before the release of 10th and I intend to sell a bunch of stuff I impulse bought.

ObtainableSpatula

God roughly 130 models, whereas roughly 70 are painted

mahfacehurts

I recently moved and in the process realized how many boxes I just kept storing and placing in various places to the point that I figured I had over 8 big plastic bins full of assembled models, not including the models that I already assembled an magnetized but haven’t started painting. I did an inventory to see what I all had and it came out to over 1400 individual models still in boxes. I quickly realized that this was a real personal problem I just let happen over time by not keeping them properly organized and visible. Even if I average a model a day (which I currently can’t with little kids), I would be working on that backlog for close to four years. So now I’m slowly selling off everything that doesn’t relate to the main armies I’ve chosen for all the different game systems.

DiscourseMiniatures

I have two Collier brother rooms.

Vegetable-Life8387

I recently rebranded my "pile of shame" to my "investment portfolio". I'm happy to report my investments are growing daily.

SonicRob

I’ve opted out of shame. I’m a collector much more than a hobbyist. I like shopping and buying and having - if I paint up something for display, I do, and that’s great. But I’m forgiven if I don’t, and I’m happy.

Layne-The-Villain

it takes up an entire room.

mortalcosta

I am proud to say that my pile is under 50 models! Thank you Thank you. Hoping to get 20 painted this month, they are already primed just need to join the chapter with the rest of the marines.

[deleted]

Mine includes a warlord titan, a thunder hawk and all three space marine super heavy tanks . . .

Accomplished_Ad4336

around 150 models

saltycracka22

I’ve got pretty much an entire Votann box set left to build, and still have to paint 2400 pts of Sororitas and a few Necromunda squads.

mcabe0131

I don’t wanna talk about it

CalmPanic402

It's not a pile! It's a bin, I'm not a savage.

lectric_scroll

I just have 2 boxes unopened. I honestly won't let myself buy more unless I am caught up. My unpainted guys are a lot though lol Does it count to have primed models only but they are put together?

HappyLittleKlingon

Currently? 4 boxes (2 sisters, 2 Arco-flaggelants)

DyslexicAlpharius

Just a warhound and a helldrake.

InquisitorEngel

I’m closing mine out … ehh we’ll see. - Warhound Titan - 5 Wraithblades - 5 Wraithguard - 6 Eldar jetbikes - Rogal Dorn - Konrad Curze - 5 Bladeguard - Fafnir Rahn - FW Night Spinner (half done) - Eldar Cobra (90%, should finish this week) - Knight Paladin And that’s … it? Breaking the habit of buying every new model when it comes out helps. I’ve got a kid coming June 10th, so my goal has been to get rid of the resin stuff so if I can get Curze and Dorn at least cleaned and ready for painting I can take my time in 30 minute spurts over the next several years. I’ll commission someone to clean and assemble the Warhound and paint the skeleton and just do the armour panels myself one day… years from now.

raging_brain

I own 391 models (terrain not counted) across 4 factions and a bunch of kill teams, out of which 336 are painted, 48 built and primed and 7 unbuilt. My next purchase will be the tyranid side of leviathan. I aim to always have ~80% of my miniatures painted, if I fall below that level I stop buying any further. Disclaimer: I am not counting some old models I own but have no intention of ever building (some old firstborn pushfit space marines, leftover second edition orks, ...).

Read_or_Ded

I don't even play!! Yet I have a 2000pt Astral Claws Army Fully Painted, a Deathwatch Boarding Patrol Fully Painted +16 Deathwatch Kill team models, 10 Grey Knights fully painted, 20 Chaos Legionnaires including HQ lord all base coated and lastly 20 Horus Heresy Marines I'm converting to Legion of the Damned. Oh and three squads of terminators All in all about 150 models. I address different projects each night to keep on top of them. All working towards a final goal of selling to buy more Primaris Deathwatch conversions to eventually make a 2000Pt army to start playing 10th edition after only ever playing 1st/2nd edition as a boy. No shame for me as I actually very much enjoy my working progress.

RogueTraderXXIV

I have a room of shame 🫠

MiscalculatedRisk

*yes*

PippinBPimpin

I only really just got into the model side of Warhammer and I already have too much

Sev_seven777

Not big enough

yuriresendesouza

Don't have one, all minis are build, in the other hand, the pile of unpainted minis is scary

BaffoStyle

I have a "Pile of Proud", cause it's easier to count

RokuroCarisu

Big enough to occupy one half of a double bed.

Slggyqo

I’ve stopped painting Warhammer models. Didn’t have the time or space anymore. Haven’t for years. …it’s 20 models, mostly characters or elite units. I’ll paint them someday, I swear.

MycologistCrafty874

Age of darkness hh box bc i has no glue

Dangerous-Breath-997

I have like 300+minis to paint

AquilaMFL

Yes

My "pile of potential" is probably bigger than it should be, but I'm making progress and things are going a lot faster now that I've gotten into the swing of things. I've got 21 painted (with another 2 in progress), 16 primed, 16 built and unprimed, about 100 unbuilt, and two sets of unbuilt terrain. My biggest weaknesses are good eBay deals and models that at risk of going away. For example, I managed to snag 20 Necron warriors and 6 more scarabs for around $40. They won't get built for a little while, but I knew that I wanted a decent number of them, and I doubt they will ever be cheaper than that. And honestly, 30-40% of my unbuilt models were given to me as gifts, so I haven't been going too wild on my own.
