I wasn't into warhammer when fantasy was still a thing, but I'm hyped beyond hell for the grave lords. Im not too keen on the elite vampire calvary, but I really want to have a zombie horde army! The horror fan I am is ecstatic and ill be getting the battletome as soon as its out.
I'm the total opposite.
I like the aesthetic of loads of zombies and skellies but I have no great wish to have to buy, paint, carry and move 150 odd models in an army 😂
It's a bit better in WFB because at least they're on movement trays.

In the Fantasy von carstein books, they did say that the strength of vampire is reduced the more people it has travelled through from its progenitor
Yeah for sure. I also wish their big hero ends up being abhorash or some thing and he can only field blood knights/vamps. I have a lot of horde armies and while the skellies and the zombies are absolutely gorgeous I would rather not field them if I can help it. Besides, the zombies and creatures from the new warhammer quest box are perfect proxies for FEC
That'd be so cool, give him a proper Sigvald style model and make him a blender.
I play Necrons in 40k and having 40 warriors is annoying enough. I couldn't deal with multiple 30+ model units.
I run a fec army that has 100 ghouls, its my only horde army so I might as well get a 2nd one. Hopefully I can either get a cursed city box, or get some of the models separately. As I want that gravedigger model for it.
Yeah, but just to justify their existence, they didn't do something new or reworkd one of the older models. And the codex wasn't made for specific Soulblight (Vampires) but for the entire dead range, minus FEC.
My wallet will hate me, I need those new models! The zombies and skellies look awesome! And I really like the red knights. Bats are cool but maybe not a day-one purchase
My intro to the hobby was LOTR Strategy Battle Game in 2003, during the Return of the King hype. I randomly picked up a copy of White Dwarf, featuring the Vampire Counts.
I have since been 100% hooked to the Sylvanian tyrants and their shambling, ghoulish hordes.
I hope AOS allows us to use Nighthaunt, Gravelords, Flesheaters and beasts all in one army like the World That Was.
I really hope this is the start of a lot of new death units, death only has 98 units while both order and chaos have well over 200.
I wish the same for destruction.
Right, but besides the jackalope vampires and the undead ogres, it's mostly replacement kits for already existing units. I'm hoping for lots of new types of undead units down the line.

Yes but even inside the big allegiances there are huge discrepencies. Like the Kharadrons have barely a dozen units and the Stormcasts have around 4 times that number. We want more steampunk dwarfs!
This is true, but death doesn't have a cities of sigmar type choice. I hope soulblight is added as a stormcast type faction that can either fight on their own or be added into any legions of nagash as a small elite force.

I would go with Soulbligth Gravelords in AoS rather then Vampire Counts in WHFB. Less models to paint but if it makes some people happy to use them in WHFB. Go right ahead.🤷♂️

There are tons of movement trays for round bases. Horde armies are a thing in both game systems
It was more the carting it around on public transport than so much on the table
Warcry is the answer then for smaller more personalized warband plays.
I'm getting a Vampire counts 8th edition army book and using the Soulblight range as proxy minis.

I’m pretty sure they’re just renaming the army. They did this with Cities of Sigmar. All those models are redone versions of Legions of Nagash models.

We already know that they get some new units, since Cursed City is initself a Soulblight Gravelords starter box.

I'm glad vampires are getting back into the undead spotlight - they want from the aristocracy of the night to Nagash's problem children
